This is from an old text called "Vaccaj" written by Vaccaj, a singing teacher, in 1883. I know it because I studied on this book and I'm studing on it yet. I don't like her voice at all, but I think it's one of the best voices at the moment. I hope I will sing better...
I don't understand why she shakes her body like this. It's not a tragedy... It's not a earthquaking aria! She is only saying : "There are no more true lovers", not "Mephisto is coming to kill everyone in the world"!
I just heard her Mélisande in Paris. A complete failure. She was a trainwreck, sounded dreadful in the rare moments where her voice carried. She can't sing french at all. A very mediocre singer and artist(her acting was so stupid and histerical) whose reputation is totally overrated.
It´s definitelly NOT Mozart. This aria is composed by Czech Josef Mysliveček, as Mozart called him "Il divino boemo". He was a little bit older than Mozart but they met each other in Italy when Mozart was about 16 years old, and when he composed his "italian trilogy". They had quite good relationship and Mozart really admired him and vice versa. The style is nearly the same, also Mozart composed something on Piu non si trovano, but this aria is part of Myslivecek´s opera L´Olimpiade.
is it necessary for her to have those kinda weird and funny expressions on her face? i don't know.. the expressions on her face i find it unsuitable for the song.. but i feel her voice feels warm too! mezzo soprano feels warmer than soprano afterall coz it's lower..
How could this be a text from 1883 when Mozart died in 1791????????????

Vaccai took the text from this aria. Vaccai didn't write the text to his metodo prattico. And it is not mozart, its from Myslivecek's L'Olmpiade.

Prattico? Only 1 t, "pratico". :)

Tereszga is right, this not Mozart, it's Myslivecek and a great singer: M. K.

Kozena is wonderful!
I did find her very expressive in Orphee, and enjoyed this tremendously.
Thanks for sharing

Kozena is one of the singers to watch in the future!!!!
Now being married to Ratlle, there is an exciting comibination!!!!
I don't bother her facial espressions, IT IS KOZENA!!!!
So....let her be.
Seen Bartoli in concert, well she's got a lot more moves.
I think in her later years she will develop to become in mezzo/contralto range.
Seen her in Bach????
Wonderfull, but with more power.
Let Kozena do her thing and enjoy...

Quina veu mare meva! Com la d'un nen a punt de mudar-la i amb un color de tristor i melanconía. T'estimo Magdalena. Visca Txèquia!

I'm not crazy about this. Frankly, I think her Bach is better. She sings sharp for about 50% of this.
