i may not have owned a dog from a puppy mill, but i applaud you for showing this dog someone loves her. i always adopt my cats from the local humane society. i doubt i'll ever get a purebred cat
Just saw this through facebook/ no more tears rescue where I rescued my little Rudy (schnoodle) from...she was also a puppy mill mom. I "see" her eyes in the eyes of your little cairn, each day she becomes sooooo happy its been two years and with patience/love and lots of Loooonnnnggg walks Rudy is just perfect ..Thanks for a great video...and each Christmas I give to her rescue. thank you again.
What a heartwarming story about Rusty! I too, have a puppy mill rescued Cairn. I love Cairns, and it breaks my heart to see what people can do. "Maggie" is such a blessing for me, and I love her so much!
BUT YOU SEE THE REAL ME . . . we prayed that this would come out, and it surely did. A most loved adopted baby now living the GREAT LIFE she was meant to live.
Rusty visited our home in Aug 07; her desire to leave the past and live in the nurturing present was striking. This lady is very brave, and she was fortunate to have a wonderful foster mom who knew how to let her learn to trust. Truly wonderful!
Rusty's foster Mom and Dad have the patience of a SAINT and they gave with their heart to help Rusty. . . and even as important the perfect home adopted her. . . she is on her way to a perfect life . . .
A wonderful pictorial story of a puppy Mill girl. Puppy Mill Rescuing is a selfish thing to do because rescuing any dog makes one feel good .. But rescuing a puppy mill dog makes one feel great! There is nothing like it. Thank you Col. Potter for making it possible for mere humans to know the Bliss of seeing a little Puppy Mill Pauper turn into a Prince or Princess.
Brings back so many wonderful memories. Rusty was the most fearful mill girl I have encountered, but you could see how badly she wanted to trust. It angers and upsets me the damage inflicted upon these innocent souls from life in a mill, and it's all done for the mighty dollar! We were blessed with the most wonderful forever home, who continues to nuture and bring forth the trust. Thank you Lynda for making this special tribute, it will be cherished forever. Hugs, Rusty, now Maisie's Foster Mom
I just love this video. Rusty's foster mother captured the journey so beautifully in the pictures and the video is a wonderful addition to the CP library. For all the dogs out there...someone will find you.

Yes there is a real "me" in these puppymill survivors. Being a foster mom to a mill kid is an experience never to be forgotten.

For all of us who've rescued or who have loved a puppymill survivor when no one else would, this is what it's all about.
