  • Nice concept. Fun to watch. I'd like to see it repeated in different places, and with sound.

  • Nice particle simulation :)

  • Fake video is fake lol

  • @FrostWhite Hah, I'm actually in this class. It's real. My professor was VERY excited about being able to do it.

  • why dont you like, do this again, but instead of using balls, use a few cats, and instead of dropping them just put them in a box, and instead of filming it in high speed, set the box on fire?

  • @greatestgod NEDM

  • Apart from the camera shaking, it was very relaxing to watch -_-

    thankyou.

  • if this is slow mo then how fucking fast is that green blinking light flashing, jesus

  • awesome. I liked looking for the mid-air collisions.

  • Put some orchestra music! :D

  • The 10 dislikes are from boys who wish their balls would drop.

  • So thats what ball dropping means..

  • Now do the same thing but with skeeet

  • SKITTLES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Why did I just sit here and throw away 2.30 of my life ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

  • i know im sorta being a dick but if you like this look up sony bravia (bouncy balls). if you like 400 then I'm guessing your gonna love 250,000 bouncing down a street.

  • @Achack Thats where we got the idea

  • @Achack ok i will do that thing that you just said to do, i will do that now and watch that thing you said

  • Bravo, Dr. Delson

  • memories of sony bravia adverts and david letterman '96

  • I bet this would look incredible in HD3D...

  • I like the bit with the balls.

  • @SuckMyCurry i also liked that bit with the balls O____O

  • Should'a put some classical music in the background.

  • @Jaylawtheman

    my thoughts exactly

  • I'm kind of amazed that some of the balls actually managed to stay on the table. You'd think they would all bounce or roll off.

  • @TheBriz09 i didnt because im not a dumbass

  • Have you thought about using the glow-in-the-dark bouncy balls and filming it in the dark? That could potentially look awesome.

  • Must buy LCD TV's. MUST CONSUME.

  • Wow it's like a flaming lips concert.

  • cool! now do it in CryEngine 2 :D

  • That must have SUCKED picking all those up.

  • Sony Bravia already did it ;)

  • The high speed effect could've been better looking outside of a classroom setting. Otherwise it's still really cool.

  • Reminds me of Kinetic Theory of Gases..

  • @abhaykalla Reminds me of bouncy balls

  • THEY'RE COMING RIGHT AT US

  • 00:08 a Green ball separates itself from rest of the balls and hits the floor directly, unlike the others hitting the shelf first..

  • Nice balls you've got there. I'd like to see more of them.

  • gravity is such a party pooper

  • @fmg420 its big fat party shit!!! ha ha 0_____0

  • what's the point of this?

  • 3 people were cleaning up the balls

  • Ha. So cool.

  • *eh* not a very interesting thing to shoot in high fps

  • when did this happen?!

  • @kittyfamily777 earlier today

  • I WAS THERE!!!!

you guys don't have 400 balls anymore btw

  • it's like lava lamp

  • is the camera vibration from bouncy balls hitting it?

  • @Speeddemon974 yeah, a few balls bumped the tripod

  • very cool! it reminds me of the bravia commercial

  • Hey dude, thats pretty awesome. As I was watching this, I was thinking what a horrible time a computer would have at calculating the physics of all objects colliding everywhere.

  • I'll buy that one from you that took 58 seconds to hit the table. It will be the secret to my anti-gravity boxers!

  • Yeah UCSD!!! I'm in 156 this quarter.... which TA posted this!?!

  • FOR SCIENCE

  • Did you count them before and after?

  • @Rallynumanair They were brand new and in bags of 50 when we loaded them in, so i trust we started with 400. I just hope we didn't miss too many off them in the cleanup process.

  • @Rallynumanair I found a few during my office hours the other day... I think it just accounts toward our overall success!

  • would be a perfect commercial for wonder bread! lol

  • would be a perfect commercial for wonder bread! lol

  • Wired just tweeted a link to this video btw! Pretty sweet, I remember taking MAE3 during my undergrad days at UCSD....oooh memories

  • pure chaos

  • Jiggling atoms

  • amazing work. If you could get some glow in the dark ones and do the same expierement, you'd get some trippy distance/ shrinking effects.

  • It's.... it's beautiful.

  • How long was the actual clip before you slowed it down?

It's mesmerizing, you can watch this video 400 times and track a different ball each time.

  • Black light + Ecstasy = Best night of your fucking life

  • That was cool and all; what about the poor schmuck who had to pick all those up?

  • @Duke2040us the poor schmucks were me, a few friends, and some bystanders who watched and were willing to help out.

  • @jamezracer You should've filmed that too, but in time-lapse!
