you can literally hear his guitar persistantly smashing down his wall of denial until the end when he finally breaks through to the glorious light of truth. one of stevies finest, first rate.
f*@# eric clapton.. he was jealous of Hendrix....And Stevie could of out played him blind folded.... Jealous Prick.... he's lucky Hendrix couldn't be around longer...
i think both srv and clapton would say jimi was the best, thogh jimi in the day admired eric and dylan. all mentioned could be the best on any day, but this is the best kind of music around. those guys took thier strats and murdured them. shame they...jimi and srv were taken so young.
@PhunkyPhil72 Clapton has actually said that in his opinion, Buddy Guy is the best guitar player in the world, hands down. Not surprising though, as that's who Jimi got most of his inspiration from. Gotta love how things get passed along. When people get forgotten along the way though, that's what sucks.
@sonsofthunder4you I listen to Wall of Denial once or twice of day....totally timeless. The fretting speed and the string velocities never cease to amaze Me.
Why The Rock N Roll Hall of Fame hasn't fallen all over themselves to get Stevie Ray Vaughan into their museum is a mystery. No slam to those who are in there....but is their really less than what You can count on one hand those who can
@vizeck Back when I was in a band, pretty much all I cued from was the drummer. And working with a really good drummer makes SUCH a difference!
BTW, I saw Chris Layton performing with the Experience Hendrix tour last March. Just by listening to him you could tell he was really hitting his drums hard, yet to watch him it seemed he was hardly breaking a sweat.
@vizeck YEAH THE DRUMMER IS DEFFINATELY ON THE ONE. iF YOU WANT TO GET WORKED UP OVER SOME OF THE BADDEEST DRUMMING EVER LISTEN TO STEVIE WONDERS ALBUMS TALKING BOOK AND INNERVISION THE DRUMMER ON BOTH ALBUMS IS KICKIN, SMOKIN, PLAYING THE HELL OUT OF THEM SKINS. i THINK IT WAS HARVEY MASON ON BOTH?
@RonyMexico there is no better! only different styles in music, on the professional level of performing once you have made a few millions doing it then i think you have cut your own nitch in music history!!!!
Alpine Valley 1990 - Eric Clapton had to walk away from watching Stevie's performance on the 25th, saying that he "just couldn't take it", and adding "you expect me to follow THAT?!"
Then during the performance of "Sweet Home Chicago" at the end of concert on August 26th, all of the guitar legends performing that night traded solos back and forth, each topping the other. SRV performed a solo and Eric Clapton bowed out, unable to top it. At his own show. There's proof.
@cavalrytm glad you were there to see a concert like that, i was not, so tell your story walking, merry xmas, though and clapton is still the king of blues guitar
Idk who came up with that ending. But it's very amazing.
