I just let myself get screwed by "Just Brakes." Walked in and they said $199. I was tired from a long week of work, feeling like I was coming down with the flu and just wanting to get it over with. That's the biggest mistake you can make. These high-pressure con artists were all over me. Now, when I was younger and had the garage space, I used to do my own brakes, so I'm not totally ignorant about brake systems. But the onslaught of rapid-fire lingo got to me. They replaced everything. $900. :-(

@1CALIWRITER3 40 dollar for pads is fine...but if your trusting your life to 40 dollar rotors (how do you even find rotors that at 10 bucks each anyways...the junkyard?!?), I seriously doubt you have any idea about what parts to use. And you have no mention of brake fluid...seriously...your an auto tech and you forget the brake fluid? And if you don't replace the rotors, you should be have the rotors trued for that $300...how many people can do that at home again that aren't auto techs?!?

Its ok though, keep paying 300 for a brake job that consists of just new pads and resurfacing, more power to you. While you do that, Ill buy new brake pads and new rotors and still have money to spare
Brake pads these days will squeak for a while before they go out. It isn't like all of a sudden, you are driving down the road, the brake pads just go BOOM and disappear.
i just got mah brakes fixed a week before i went in to getmah tires switch. they swithced it came out and said, do i want mah brakes switched because its almost worn out, . . . ??? WTF ???, so i saved the dude some face and just said, naw, its ok. and left.
Just Brakes isn't a scam. Upon reading many reports about Just Brakes' $99.88 deal being a scam but it's not. Things such as calipers and rotors are NOT included in the price and they wouldn't put it on without your consent. They RECOMMEND you replace them BEFORE they become ruined and a hazard. Sure they try to upsell you a bit, but is McDonald's a scam them?
Also, you 'bleed' the brakes, not 'flush' them. Fail NBC and AAA.
@hiiamtwyg Bleeding is purging the air from the brake lines. Flushing is entirely replacing the old brake fluid with brand new brake fluid and then bleeding. Bleeding does not necessarily equal replacing all the brake fluid just the fluid that was lost while bleeding the system.
Just got off the phone with just bakes and the guy gave me a quote for a toyota 4x4 with new rotors and brake pads for 350.00 no hiddin charge. People don`t realize their can be more problems then they think with their brakes. Don`t believe every thing you hear on tv or You Tube. Try brake check their cheap on certin things and way high on other services I think I had a brake fluid flash and it cost 35.00 Minus is bad about prices to change all 4 shocks on a astro van for 400.00 I did myself

well....I have been dealing with this for about a month and the reason they probably are having to pay more might be because they need new rotars which is what I need. I have gone to several different places and been quoted at least 300 from both. However one place, not just brakes, told me they need to flush out the brake fluid and that would be a separate fee of 100. Just brakes said it would be included. Just info for everyone to know!
Prepare to hand them your wallet. Go to your bank first so you have enough cash to hand over. You will need about 1 grand to to pay for all the stuff they will find "wrong with your brakes". Now that's a bargain to keep you safe!
