  • Death by Audio are COOL.

But they DO seem to just make lots of the same pedal with slight alterations! :)

Love the Supersonic Fuzz Gun, and the Fuzz War, though. Kinda sum up what's great about their pedals in just those two, I reckon.

  • what is the name of the last song?

  • WoW!!!! Amazing 2 knob Fuzz...truely a vintage Russian Green Muffiness-type Fuzz sound...just might have to add this to my ar-sin-all!!!!

  • sounds kinda like my zvex machine

  • Dubstep.

  • this sounds DIRTY

  • i had one of these a while ago and i can honestly say its the worst pedal ive ever owned and ive had quite a few now/totally unusable sounds unless all you want to do is play around in your bedroom

  • @wilson2810 billy corgan, omar rodriguez, josh homme and a big long etc could show you how to use this kind of fuzzboxes

i am sure angus young wouldnt have a clue on what is going on

dependes on your style and technique... i personally love grinny fuzz, i play stoner and noise rock

  • @hawklord2112

do it it sounds gnarly as fuck,.

  • This guy plays like shit! And this pedal is fucking great!

  • @Jimlead seriously dude, andy can play anything. clearly you've never seen any PGS's other demos. and he could most definatly outplay some random youtube punk like you. and don't even think about replying saying "Well, at least i could out play you" cause you probably could. but still your an idiot

  • My baby!

  • This thing sounds like all the worst settings on the Fuzz Factory rolled into one tiny pedal. I'd get quite similar results by running a Fuzz Factory (and a couple of other fuzz boxes) at a lower voltage.

  • Death by Audio kicks the hell out of Devi Ever in the fuzz pedal category.

  • Can you start doing bass demos? Bassists like effects too!

  • wow andy never thought you would listen to lightning bolt haha

  • this might sound stupid... but... is this pedal kind of "harmfull" for your amp? i mean...it sounds SO crazy! with all that subharmonics feedback, can it damage your amp or something alike?

  • @mynmyself No. It would be very hard for a pedal powered by a 9V battery to damage the input of a tube amplifier (not sure about solid-state amps or other audio hardware.) In general, damage is extremely unlikely. Sound is just sound. The amp doesn't much care what sound it amplifies.

  • hi andy!

  • Oooh Holy God!!!!!!

this little one know`s how to Rock!!!

im in love with the Death By Audio stuff......

    Keep on destroying waves!

    :D

  • Can this thing, or something like this effect the life of the amp speakers?

  • I want this pedal so bad it literally hurts my soul.

  • my response to this vid:

SUCK ON THAT, BIG MUFF! :P XP XD

  • Haha Dracula mountain

  • When Billy Corgan finds out about this, we will finally have a glorious sequel to the Siamese Dream.

  • I need this and a robot O.O

  • me too! )°v°(

  • to tell you the truth, i dont like the sounds too good...is it the way he's setting the nobs or is the general sound you'll get? i mean no respect im truely interested.

  • go look up death by audio robot its just funny

  • one of the best pedals i own. although, mine is broken. i need to have ollie fix mine :(

  • wow...that thing is awesome. My amp is afraid of this pedal. I think for good reason.

  • 3:43 is awesome, what song is that?

  • it sounds like a silversun pickup song but i dont think it is

  • yeah what the name of that song it blew my mind

  • 3:13 has got to be King Crimson.

  • hoooo boy. do i dare run my bass through one of these?

  • DO IT.

    I know I would.

  • @hawklord2112 DO IT BE A MAN

  • @hawklord2112 do it man it sounds so nice. i saw some guy noodling away on a bass on one of these at a shop once

  • I want one of these, plus an Analogman Peppermint Fuzz. Plus a Sunface. Damn, there's a lot of fuzz pedals I want...

  • we have a lot to thank fuzz for.

i stopped trimming my pubes so i had more fuzz where-ever i went.

  • hahaha

  • just got one these/awesome noise/bit uncrotrollable as there is no volume on it but thats part of the fun/works great with my emg 81 powered gretsch but not so well with my jazzmaster/all in all a wild and fun pedal//

  • There is a volume inside the pedal, or at least that's what Andy just said...?

  • ive got a really early model (no.17)and there is no trim pot inside

  • what is there instead? it would have to have something or the circuit wouldnt be complete =S

  • its the volume nob on the guitar

  • no theres a small 3 leg trim pot inside. Its small and blue and has to be turned with a screwdriver but there is one

  • I've never even heard of Death by Audio pedals before today, but I am in love with everything about this pedal. Right down to the way the knobs are labeled with drawings of waves.

  • this pedal is dope

  • oh man 2:20 and 2:35!

  • sounds really good!

  • your joking right?

  • Out of all DBA pedals I like the sound of this one the best.

I'm strapped for cash right now and I already own the Zvex Fuzz Factory though I'm still looking for an addittion to my collection. Would it be a good idea to buy this one or would I be better of with some other sort of pedal?

  • Its not gonna have many sounds you cant get with the fuzz factory

  • Well, the fuzz factory is a silicon transistor based fuzz. Silicon's tend to be more crackly, splatty, crackly, and raw. I'm almost positive this is a silicon fuzz as well. If I were you I would get a germanium based fuzz like the fuzz war. It can still make crazy noises, just different crazy noises than the pedal you already have.

  • Alright, finaly the fuzz ive been searching for! The one pedal that doesnt hold back on the fuzz, and i dont mind the volume and feedback. This is just perfect for a thik fuzz sound and offers many opritunities.

  • 2:50 NINTENDO ON CRACK!

  • word brother, word!!

  • This pedal makes a Fuzz Factory seem tame. The thing is nuts. Roll the volume back to like 4 on your guitar and only bits and pieces of sound come through and you can make it sound all electronic. A lot of the settings will have a sound like a dying cable so your sustain is gone. This thing will boost the HELL out of your amp. I cant decide if Im gonna keep this or not.

  • "This pedal has enough fuzz to scare a hippy into the shower"

    lol, very nice...

that sound at 3:37 was to say the least, shockingly awesome

  • I always love your videos! I just wish I had the money to buy alot of these pedals.

  • LIGHTNING BOLT!!!!!!!!!!

  • HELL YES. Which song?

I only watched the beginning so far...

  • is this one of those pedals that will destroy my twin reverb with too much noise

  • at 1:45 it sounds like a power line malfunctioning

  • PGS, Does this pedal sustain well when you change between chords? Or do you have to play very hard?

  • It depends on what settings you use. On the gated settings, the notes will chop off and sputter out. But on the noisey bits, it can add a lot of sustain and feedback.

  • this pedal is almost as crazy as a fuzz factory

  • Damn Andy you should play guitar for Fantomas. I'm usually not the biggest fan of out there fuzz pedals but something in the tone of this one is calling my name.

  • holy fuck!!!

  • was that first song Lightning Bolt?

  • Hehe, loosely based on their Dracula Mtn. Good ear,

    Andy

  • hell yeah

  • @ProGuitarShopDemos that is why I watch your gear reviews. No BS, great tones, push the boundaries of all the pedals. Thanks for saving me the trip to the guitar store to try it out myself!

    zach

  • 2:02 - 2:13 sounds like it would be a perfect tone for some QOTSA stuff

  • holy cow poo!

that strat sounds so thick and noiseless do i smell a seymour duncan in the oven?

  • Scare your pets?Piss off your girlfriend?Emulate aliens language? What's the use of this?

  • The midfi Glitch Computer sounds better.

  • no they're different not competing. this thing is like extreme fuzz while glitch computer is in some kind of atari punk counsole guitar pedal league. they both rock

  • there is no better its all personal taste. you like the midfi more doesnt mean someone else does

  • "This pedal has enough fuzz to scare a hippy into the shower." ROFL

  • OHHHHH; I'm SCARED !!!!!!

  • hmmmmmm i think that this would sound alot sicker ran through a keyboard

  • like hell on earth or heaven

  • Thats badass

  • Great job Andy you can make the noisiest of noise pedals sound musical.

  • Much appreciated!

    -Andy

  • ahahhaah product description is hilarious. interesting sounding fuzz box as well!

  • does the pedal sound bad at hight volumes. in a gig it might sound kinda crappy...

  • Fucking Sick!

Sounds like downsampling to 1-bit audio in programs like ableton, only way more versatile.

  • Death by audio products sound like shiz.

  • Very nice job

  • FIRST!
