For tattoos i would suggest either your family crest because that represents what ur ancestry is... or you can go wit a symbol that relates to you or Phrase,,, or if u some type of celtic design with a sphere in the middle wit a rainbow design, american flag, or any other flags part of ur background its kind of endless.

I had my left ear pierced when I was 34 when it wasn't quite so mainstream. But I hardly put in any ear-fobs because now that I'm in my 50s, I don't want people to think I'm one of those sad older guys acting as if ear-rings are somehow being 'edgy'.

Tattoos - not agin 'em, but no to too many. Creative subtlety best - less really is more when it comes to tattoos.

Brow rings on young guys are great. Head horns not so much!

Regarding the tatoo...

What appeals to you now may not appeal to you later in life. And if you want to have a tatoo removed it will leave scarring. So seriously think about it. If you do get a tatoo, put it in a place where it is not obvious and can be hidden with clothing if need be. People lose out on jobs because of tatoos on their necks, hands, wrists, and faces. While this may be wrong, it is reality. Also, small detailed tatoos will lose their detail as you age...they can get blurry.

I was considering getting the flags of the nations I have visited done, but those may add up eventually (I continue to hope anyway!), and so instead what I am going to do is have a small map of the world done on my back and color in each country as I visit them. Darken in the borders of the specific regions as I travel through them as well. :)

Not really into vandalizing my body,...but to each their own. Have at it if you want. My only absolute on getting a tattoo is to avoid your neck or face region.
