I seen these guys back in 84 in El Paso Tx they rocked but I went to see them again in 85 and they sucked. I think they were drugged up the second time.
The impressions the band made , the music/lyrics will always be til earths end.
A peroid of madness/goodness & the times of the 80's forever will be in the hearts of humans may it be powerfully expanding & eternally sustaining til all is good or great
this song always put a smile on my face and still does. Besides everything I see people sayn bout the greatness of NightRanger I have 2 say that the bottom line was the most basic thing of all> The songs !! Their 1st 2 albums were just full of songs 4 a saturday night mixed in with a couple 4 a meloncholy sunday mornin too.
@bigblock31 Actually the MCA TOM LP in 1984, Their debut in 1982 was Dawn Patrol. I have my copy sitting out in front of me, got to put it on the turntable I think!
@MetallicBill Oh I meant it was the first I heard them. I missed the Dawn Patrol album but got it later. I saw them at Six Flags over Georgia in 1984 they rocked.
George actually auditioned Twice . the first time he lost out to randy though he got Randy's job teaching guitar for Randy mom at her music school. The second time was for Brad's replacement. apparently he was hired for 3 days before Ozzy changed his mind in favor of Jake E. Lee.oh and sorry for getting of point
actually george was never in the picture. cat buy the name of Bernie Torme' was hired by Ozzy who was Ian Gillian's guitarist to play the make-up dates after Randy passed. Officially,He left after three weeks to concentrate on his own band ..
.....the true story is he did'nt handle playing the big arena crowds to well. Brad was recommended thru Tommy Aldridge who was tipped by Pat Thrall's brother ( Tommy and Pat were in the the Pat Travers Band Together)who was playing in a weekend jam band with Brad Called the Berkeley All-Stars
@pdfontana He claimed in Hit Parader that he's HM'd himself out, meaning it was too heavy a style then he was comfortable with, but he still burns the frets
who's set list would consist of songs shouted out from the audience during the previous show and a lot of those songs were Ozzy's and Brad killed. there was really nobody else in the picture other than in conversations and the rumor mill in spite of what you might of heard. though George with Ozzy would have been interesting
Right on, Signal 28!! Nothing quite like the original lineup! Beautiful song and along with 'Rumours in the Air' and 'Rain Keeps Fallin' the best NR songs that you never heard on the radio!
You should check out Jeff Beck. He does some pretty wild stuff with the whammy bar. Look for an instrumental of his called Where Were You, on the Jeff Beck's Guitar Shop album. There's bits in there where he's playing the melody just by hitting one harmonic and bending the note up and down with the whammy bar.
This is my favorite "non-hit" Night Ranger song. Night Ranger needs to be together now! All five of them. They need "Fitz", Kelly, Jack, Brad, and Jeff!
Wish Jeff Watson was still in Night Ranger, guess he needed something more interesting musically. That's what i heard anyway,

The riff at 1:04 and 2:31 is very similar to the opening riff to Metallica's Ride the LIghtning.
