@kingofmagic1 It's a stabilizer to shift the center of gravity forward. Look at 4:24.

I'm guessing people use the rod so that the bow won't lean backwards when you aim at targets.

Incredible! Awesome job! But once you remove the strings from the bow, the limbs would no longer be under tension. Removed from the bow they would return to their normal state and would appear flat. Not to be nit-picker or anything ... that vid was still off the hook.

The modeling was all done in Pro/E, then the objects were exported to Autodesk Viz for animation.
