That's called snubbing...so the gate comes to a cushioned stop. The way it played out...it seemed like it knew the car was there...so it stopped breifly so as not to get hit... :)...but that's not the case...

I live about 5 miles away from this Marina and I have seen the train move across before that guard even comes down. That guy was Stupid as hell. What's funny is the train was only 10 cars. Was it worth dying over 10 seconds of train?
