  • Fucking amazing.

  • Undoubtedly one of the top players worldwide today. Not only is his technique phenomenal but everything he does is somehow amazingly captivating, which isn't always the case with talented musicians. His sound is remarkable!

  • 2:52-2:56 are you serious!?

  • 15 people apparently watched this muted.

  • @andfabriis 15 people were deaf

  • the ending is epic, it's all good, very moving piece, but I just want to be able to play the ending :)

  • I can fap to this.

  • Уже 100-й раз смотрю. Чрезвычайно впечатляет

  • ngl his hands moving that way are pretty scary but it makes beautiful music!

  • lol he moves 2 fast even for his reflection :P

  • This is indeed an incredible rendition of a very hackneyed piece by Brahms that many great musicians neglect it. This rendition reveals the huge musical mind hear and mind or Yevgeny.

  • MAESTROSO!!!!!!!!!!!

  • there are four hands in 00:45 thus proving he was assisted.

  • @imanoob4 you moron

  • Muy bueno!

  • bravo ! :)

  • Where can I find the sheet music for this? All I can find on the Internet is for 4 hands. Anyone know?

  • @Pianoman121968

Search up "imslp hungarian dance no. 1" on google and click on the first link. Look for the solo piano arrangements by Brahms under the "Arrangements and Transcriptions" section.

  • w0w i can't see his fingers when he plays

  • absolutely amazing

  • What, he's wearing black? Well that's quite unusual. Great performance, anyway.

  • @Mintcubes I thought that too.

  • @Mintcubes I remember reading in an interview sometime that he said he wore white tux in the summer and black tux in the winter. What a formal guy! :)

  • FANTÁSTICO!!!!

  • awsome

  • It takes so much energy to play these big pieces. I'm exhausted just watching him...

    ( :

    Awesome video.

  • Saw Kissin in Bergen last month. He played one of Liszt's dances as an encore. The instrument couldn't handle him, and a string in the upper register broke. He pulled out the broken string and played another encore. Paganini turns over in his grave... to applaud.

  • @johdousha That sounds like typical Kissin to me! For him, the show must always go on!

  • I envy this guy. So much...

  • The sonority, power, passion, and depth...It's all unbelievable. This is Kissin at his absolute best! Bless his wonderful talent.

  • totally awesome

  • wooooooooooow beautiful

  • Only jealous, washed up piano teachers can hate the way this man plays. He incorporates clean, lush tenderness with the physical boundaries of virtuosity. As perfect a player as can be found.

  • fabulous sound, no-one like him :)

  • He's the best living pianist. I've seen him many times since he was a teenager, and even at his worst, he's a thrilling interpreter. At his best he's transcendental.

  • @dobiegee He is brilliant even at his worst, but I still consider Martha Argerich the best living pianist.

  • @MrElicottero

    Great joke.

  • @LoveRockYou I said I consider her the best living pianist, not that she actually is that. I hear in her playing something I don't hear in Kissin's performances, some subtler understanding of music. Kissin is perfect, but he is sometimes too perfect for me.

  • who make the arrangement?

    Brahms himself?

  • How profound would it be to hear Evgeny Kissin and Sergei Khatchatryan playing together?

  • My wrists would definitely snap if I attempted that haha!

  • god comes down to earth.. ^^

  • Brutalisimo!

  • i would like to know the 11 ignorant who do not like this heavenly piano master.

  • @TheStefoula that would be me

  • 11 people would rather see lady gaga

  • This man is totally a genius. His particular way of understand the music, his electricity... I have no words to describe it. He is simply awesome.

  • And on the first day, Evgeny Kissin created the piano!

  • Why can u Imbecills only talk about Kissin hair? How dymamic, O world, the foolishness of man is, that it can, in all its glory, contemplate about the pianists hair! What strange, strange fools our so called "God" has created. But, Ah - it seems that, in Kissin, God could find extra joy, and in his creation create a intellect that is greater and more dynamical than a hair shaft. O, thank you God, thank you!

    Your most obidient servant

    Veritas

  • @veritaas Lol, you trollin?

  • @SanctumZero Methinks he be a troll as well I mean seriously he's trying to deny KISSIN'S HAIR

'O GOD O WORLD O GOD, OH IMBECILES FOOLISHNESS INTELLECT' <---obviously epic trolling at its best right here

  • A single hair of Kissin is said to contain more talent than the average adult human.

  • @michelangeli23 : except for myself and Moses of the Old Testament ... .

  • @michelangeli23

    of course.

  • @michelangeli23 Oops.

  • @michelangeli23 well, he does has pretty epic hair.

  • da brivido!

  • There is an interesting disconnect between the fire and passion of Kissin's playing, and his icey, distant demeanor with his audience. It's no wonder his admirers find him enigmatic.

  • @FromTheSouthernTip You must either be on crack or just jealous, because I've met him 3 times and: a) He's super nice and willing to personally talk to all his fans after each concert. b) At the several concerts of his I've been his audience goes absolutely crazy for him.

  • @CLASSICAListheWAY My comment was intended as an observation and not a criticism.Kissin's perfunctory demeanour on stage has frequently been commented on. Hell, I'm on his side-all those fawning fans wanting personal contact must be irritating.

  • I WATCHED HIM AT BELGRADE ! HE IS THE BEST IN THE WORLD !

  • as much as i love listening to his playing i love watching his hair bounce all over the place <3

  • OMG I LOVE THIS GUY! HES SO AWESOME

  • @stephenishki : Brahms´ original version. Can be obtained in a Dover Reprint or at ISMLP !

  • A mind numbing performance from Kissin.

  • Now this I like very much.....

  • First there was Plato, then Alexander the Great, Trajan of Rome, Leonardo Di Vinci, and now who lives among us so greatly is Evengy Kissin.

  • so fast was his hands, the camera accidentally separates video and audio to its time.

  • Wow!!!!! That was so amazing - he turned four hands into two!!!!!!!!

Wish I could play with so much passion and joy in front of so many people...

  • @ahahaha62 Actually there's a two hand version for this too :P you can find it on imslp.org =]

  • @ahahaha62 : To the EIGHT ignorant people (the first commentator and the seven approvers). It was Brahms who wrote the two-handed version of Hungarian Dance Number 1 not Doctor Kissinger that plays a four-handed version with two hands.

  • very nice, but if you ask me it would have been better if he'd played it a bit slower.

.....But then, who am I compared to Kissin:-)

  • @ag15ui11na19ldo80 Me toooo... a bit slower would be nicer for me...^^

  • 9 people are either lying to themselves or have some SERIOUS problems they need to figure out

  • this song is my district band audition piece (on tenor sax, so not nearly as hard, but still terrifying)

  • Who could possibly dislike it? I am in awe!

  • Bravoooo

I wonder how hard his heart was beating while he was playing those super fast parts!

  • 9 "dislikes?" What the hell is wrong with people? Even if you don't like the piece, only a fool could dislike this performance.

  • This is an encore. I'd be too tired to play that after playing the main performance.

  • Incredible performance. Easily the best I've heard.

  • perfecto

  • goooosh just so freakin EPIC! biggest dynamic range of any pianist i've ever seen in my life so far

  • dude the camera couldnt even handle his fingers ! haha

  • Just absolutely lovely! Thanks for posting

  • bravo~!!!!

  • Excellent!

    WOW~

  • Magnificent!! I am not only enchanted by Brahms and his creation but also by the performance of Kissin... Halleluja...

  • ..mamma mia!!Fantastico..!!.peccato ke ha un taglio di capelli a dir poco orribile!!

  • lascia letteralmente senza fiato!!!!!!fantastico!!!!!!!!!!

  • omg o.o

    this is just........WOW

  • lol whats up with all these essay-comments?? its a guy playing the piano... and you guys found something to argue about?

  • a god usually is about something unknown. as science develops, an unknown becomes a known. goddess of season is now the rotation of the earth around the sun.

  • i love it!

  • where can i get the sheet music for this?

  • Ev"Genie" Kissin

  • great one

  • Indeed, FANTASTICO!!!!

  • I am in tears...

  • fantastico !!!!

  • so haare hatt ich auch mal

  • Better than him, I doubt it. BRAVÍSSIMO ^-^

  • Wow, how impressive it is!

  • In the beginning, there was Beethoven's hairstyle. Next came Alexander Scriabin with his mustache. Now, we shall all hail to Evgeny Kissin's hairdo.

  • @inazuma3gou : You miissed one out and that was Stokowski the conductor who transcribed works by J S Bach for the orchestra.

But the REAL thing about this video is Brahms and the beauty and warmth and bravado that he composed into this HUNGARIAN DANCE.

  • it's amazing when two hands can perform a song meant for four hands so flawlessly and effortlessly.

  • This is the version for two hands :P by moszkowski

  • This is actually Brahms' own transcription. Moszkowski's is quite different according to the sheet music on imslp.

  • I think you re right.Moszkowski s are easier. This is the one made by Brahms himself.I heard he only transcribed the first 10 arround 1872.Kissin also recorded nr2,3,6 and 7.He s great

  • Don't even mention it!! I've studying this since October! It's very difficult! Of course I'll never reach this velocity!

  • @kleiwthalia1 : Yes you will silly !

  • @kleiwthalia1 I agree. I learned the set. Very tough! Lots of hard left hand stuff going on.

  • wow! look at his hair!! Fascinating. Can´t stop looking at it. I want to touch it to see that it´s real.

  • everyone does.

  • =O!!!!!!!

  • You dont get counter strike on xboc tho lol, sorry to be pedantic but i see your point :P

  • I know, but i have to choose something classical =). no pun intended.

  • My parents happen to be friends with his cousin.

  • i have a cousin who has a cousin who has a friend who has a friend that knows a person's cousin's cousin that knows kissin's great great graet grandmother's cousin...!?!???

  • Comment removed

  • you are very lucky danedaworld ! xD

  • I know right? Isnt it so awesome the people you meet!?

  • me too!!!

  • @danedaworld LOL!!!

  • @danedaworld hang on... so kissin's great great grandmothers cousin is still alive? wow!!!

  • @danedaworld LOL!

  • Wow you must feel very priveledged....

  • If the piano was an xbox and this song was counterstrike, he just used godmode and aimbot

  • Hahah thats so funny! ^_^

  • And Evgeny Kissin has 112,419 headshots...

  • Comment removed

  • Cziffra is a hack and Lang Lang is better than Kissen?! Are you blind and deaf?!

  • @evifnoskcaj (That is a very clever remark :)

  • lol, I doubt it. Although it would be an epic battle that I would love to see. Wait a minute.. does this analogy even make sense anymore?

  • i think no one can play better

  • I think brahms is really difficult to play cause he has a very "firm" and "grand" style (like he was) and evgeny kissin is the one who can adopt this syle with clearness.

  • Its sort of dirsturbing about how fast he is!!!! his hands soo bony and well i do't know but it was brilliant

  • good god that was amazing!! I so wish I could play like that!

  • it's the original version of hungarian dance for two hands. but anyway it needs very high skill.

  • Comment removed

  • is he so pro he's playing the deut by himself or is this a solo transcribed version?

  • @YSFmemories

brahms transcribed all his pieces for 4 hands to solo himself

  • lol what if he did it to make himself sound impressive. like oh its a four hands piece! when actually he wrote it as a solo. that would be funny lol

  • this piece can't be played any better than this

  • until 1:00 it can ;) after 1:00 it can't ;)

  • This is my favorite Kissin performance. I am constructing a midi file of this piece and have posted a video of the first part of it on youtube if anyone would like to learn it. I'll be posting more as I continue to construct the midi.

  • OMG!! OoO His hands are moving so quickly... Hes so good!! :D

  • @WolfDragonSpirit : would people generally on Youtube kindly dwop that oreful americanism OMG !

  • I meant geNius

  • Don't you mean genius ?

  • with that kind of hair you are either mental or a geius, and Kissin is a GENIUS!!

  • @marcohorowitz8

    LOL true say

  • I like this its so pleasant!

  • I'm speechless...Kissin RULEZZ!!!!!

  • yes,he is :)

  • pure brilliance!!!

  • When I first heard this on the radio (it was a Kissin performance), I thought it was two people XD

  • @mdeonx16 its a four hands piece :P

  • fantastico!

  • What a talent! Authentic gift of God.

  • id only say that if he played the version for 4 hands. ive only seen a select few people play pieces of four hands on their own. all three of which are recognized educators and performers of the piano. id call this avg techinque but amazing in the sense of musicallity

  • Gentlemen. Johannes Brahms wrote a set for one pianist too.

  • Good information, but, honestly, I'm not sure how that relates to comment? I simply said I'd be more impressed if he were playing piano for four hands by himself rather than a 'normal' solo. And like I said, I consider his skill lvl avg because any proper pianist can play this, though I do think highly of his musicality which is arguable more important.

  • "I consider his skill lvl avg because any proper pianist can play this"

What the hell? Brahms piece isn't the most difficult piece Kissin can play. Most "proper" pianists can't play the Liszt Feux Follets. It's like saying Horowitz is only mediocre because he plays Traumerei.

  • @demosj : Now Sir ! What is a ´proper piianist´?

  • I really like KIssin's La Campanella performance

  • Don't even try.

  • @KindFurryBoy see wot ypou mean KFB!

  • @blichilde yes iagree with your coment

  • @blichilde : Not necessarily so. Even Satan was gifted. This gentleman a mere sinful human being like the rest of us!

  • @MusicPredominates I meant that God has made a gift to all music lovers giving us a great interpreter as Kissin and a gift to him giving him his wonderful talent . His sins don't concern me or you, they are a private matter between Evgeny and the Trascendence. And his talent is independent from his sins. God is much more merciful than you or me with human beings.

  • @blichilde : An intersesting development of my theme ! Shall we proceed in sonata form ?

  • @blichilde what had god have to do with music? it was written by man and man should take the creddit..
