  • I think this stuff spreads out to fast. If winchester would loose the BB's and just add another one of those plate/disk things this load would be perfect.

  • Have put about 200 rounds thru my judge. The 45LC PDX from Winchester shoots a good group out to 20 ft. The 410 PDX pellets hold a tight group out to 15 ft. You can consistently hit a pie plate out to 20ft which is what a self defense weapon is designed for! If I want to group out to 50yds I pull out my Ruger 44 Superblackhawk! This gun is perfect for it's application! Also the pellets shot thru a new steel barrel at 20 feet so unless my attacker has on Kevlar or is tougher than steel I feel j

  • Most self defense occurs at about 5 yards, you are shooting to save your life, Its the last damn thing you want to do is shoot someone and 98% of self defense situations happen at under 20 feet. So the judge does what it was designed to do. Defend the life of the shooter.

  • the judge is irresponsibility at its finest... you better pray that you have to use this at close range and not have to use it at more than 5 yrds... 16" spread at 5 yrds... gimme a break... you are resposible for everything those rounds touch... think about it

  • @skywayghost929 I don't know of any pd story of a shooter who, if he had placed his shot just a foot away more to the left or to the right, would have taken out an innocent bystander. if a self-defense situation includes innocents right behind your target, you shouldn't be shooting at all...

  • The Judge is nothing but hype. I am glad I sold mine for what i paid for it. Inaccurate and mediocre penetration beyond 5 yards. Fun to shoot though.

  • that's a pretty tight pattern if yer tryin' to hit a barn door from 7 yards away. Looks a pretty dangerous round to me, but not in the scary lethal sense, in the personal safety and accidental wounding sense!

  • @Timexpression okay, then you stand if front of it.

  • @hilers72652 That was a silly comment, I am a firearms officer at a local range, an that kinda foolish behaviour causes accidental death or injury with firearms. My advice to males or females looking for a weapon of close range self defense. 38 S&W snub nose loaded with hollow points and practice down at your local range double tap shooting to take down a hostile (1st shot middle chest quick aim slows them down. 2nd shot in the head slower aim finish them off if they're still a threat)

  • @Timexpression being a firearms officer at a range doesn't really mean much. I've heard firearms instructors that thought a .22lr couldn't penetrate a winter jacket and a thick shirt, much less kill. and how was it a silly comment, he was saying it couldn't be lethal past 7 yards, so with his "intelligence" he should stand 10 yards away and be perfectly fine. this ammo isn't for a hostage situation and neither is the 12gauge you mentioned in your removed comment.

  • that ammo is expensive. I wanna buy some for my piece but talk about pricey!!

  • worry about slide locks, magazine ejections, double feeds, or multiple trigger/grip safeties because I bought her a Judge this weekend for her b-day,loaded with PDX1 ammo. As i said, this weapon is great for what it was designed for. As for the ammunition you seem to dislike so much, maybe you should try firing some. If you have and dislike it then fine. But I gotta tell you, I took her to shoot. At 25ft. she had no problem centering the discs in a chest-sized target. Check your aim not ammo DB

  • @AshbyArms....I love how people are quick to jump on a user post site and call someone a name because they disagree with them. Shows a lack of intelligence and explains a lack of friends thru the school years. Let you in on a lil secret. This gun was never designed to compete with an XD or Glock asshat. For what it was designed for, it's a great gun. I would never put a Glock or XD in the hands of a person that's not up to speed with more contemporary weapon systems(my Mom). She doesn't have to

  • the judge is a NOVELTY at best.... this ammo isn't a wonder drug either. this load / gun combo at 7yds is WORTHLESS! it also all but fails to meet FBI MINIMUM standards.

i don't care what super ammo you use, it's still a .410 and that's only good for little birds. for almost the same money you can get a Glock, XD or M&P. they're smaller, lighter and come in calibers that actually work.

don't believe me? check out The Box O' Truth, Taurus Judge Revisited

  • @AshbyArms I own a glock and an XD as well...I will take a judge any day over these 2 pos!

  • @blujim79

    lol....

careful, someone may actually think you're serious.

  • @AshbyArms dont buy into the name sweety...name brands are what kills the small guys these days..ahahahahahahahahhahahh!

  • @blujim79 WTF are you talking about? name brands kill the small guy? taurus is a small company?

the judge is a POS, you appear to be some kind of idiot or the town drunk... either way, it wouldn't hurt my feelings to see taurus out of business. i know, i know... not very likely as long as the un-informed public continues to buy from un-informed salesmen.

sigh.... damn dumb, lazy idiots are ruining this country!

  • i think they need to make a 3in .410 pdx1. and 3.5in 12ga version too.lol. i dont shoot anything but rifled 3.5in slugs in my 12 and 3.5in buck.

  • @dewartt69 lol you'd probably snap your fucking wrist off but sign me up for the 12 gauge judge

  • Why no ballistics information? No one seems to be able to tell me the caliber and energy or penetration of the "defense disc's.

  • i just made a vid of me cutting some up for those who want to see it

  • the rifled barrel is a major reason for the spread.

  • 20" spread in the BB's at only 5 yards. Waste of metal. Why didn't they put in another disc or two?

I'd like to see this in ballistic gel vs a good 38 +p hollow point

  • i see a 10" spread at 7 feet, should that be 7 yards ?

  • @pocketman3 its personal defense your not going to be taking long shots.

  • for home security these rounds are my favorite

  • Ouch....

  • oh no deadly CGI

  • I have the Judge with the 6 1/2" bbl.I have fired this round at 10 yards and received a very tight group on the disc. The BB's not so tight.I also fired the Federal .410 Pistol 000 buck. at 10 yards and received a very tight grouping. Both will do the job.No gimmicks.Just plain hard fact that these two shells will %$^K you up.I have found these two shells are the only shells to fire through the Judge,as all the bird shot are just too spread out.Bird shot only good for say 3 yards max.

  • So 12 bb's and 3 pennies are shot out.

  • Bad guy go NIght Night

  • This is yet another gimmick round, and im surprised it comes from a reputable manufacturer. The 12 BB size pellets are worthless for penetration, and the flying discs are suspect to accuracy and penetration. If you're using the Judge, stick with semi-jackted .45 LC.

  • @zenmastervex have you seen the 12 gauge version it has 3 buck BBs and a slug

  • @zenmastervex You sound as if you tested this ammo,I didn't know it was available yet. Apparently you have had pretty good results with 45 colts in a Judge.

  • @zenmastervex

I have seen bodies in the ER after being subjected to these rounds. Trust me, they penetrate enough to do the job. Dead is dead.

  • @zenmastervex this round is a good load for the judge as for the bb size shot it will pebetrate deeper then you think in a self defense range it will be a hard hitting round

  • Excellent!

  • Awesome!
