  • man cant nun of talk this school has change me so much for all the haters go on wit that i think u mad cuz we got a future nd yall dont

  • this is to all those people with the negative comments: U guys r sooo stupid!! ok?? mr. wood is one of the best teachers i had ever had!!! none of this fake!! come to my school and u'll see!!! and we're not ghetto either!! we r well mannered kids and have trhe best scores on the OAA!! At KIPP we value integrity, kindness, perserverence, succeding, and actually having the chance to change the world!! we r the future!! I am an 8th grader at KJA and i will go to college in 2016!!!

  • In my opinion, that's not a good way to teach basic mathematics at all. That method is teaching memorization not calculation. That will most likely make the students slower at math in the future for they have to remember the answers instead of learning methods to quickly calculate.

  • It's cool to see such highly mostivated kids learning!

  • I go to a kipp school and I find it more than insulting that you guys are saying mean and rude things. This is how we learn and we love to share it with the world. We are sharing are knowledge with the world and if you have nothing nice to say please don't say anything.

  • Whose YouTube page is that?

  • KIPP: the 1 charter school that somewhat works

  • this is some bullshit that they have these days....waste of money honestly. my kid went to the worst public school there was out at that time. but she all in all completed school, went to college and graduated with a phd and now is a successful Doctor with a family. like really...you dont need all this...

  • I bet 20$ the kids are like wtf is this white guy teacthing us.

  • @Imappleboy Right, the race of the teach has EVERYTHING to do with his effectiveness as a teacher. You're low, don't reply.

  • I am from Finland and here our government support our studies. We get all studies for free and example University students get help from goverment for study and paying rent. This is good way to teach childrens and it make learning more interesting. We all are equal, persons with white skin are not better than asian, african.Sad that some comment are related to skin color, black skin does not make person stupid or weaker than person with other skin color. My white skin burn fast when the sun is shining.

  • Hmm...how many rude comments can we give to a good innocent video, showing how interactive learning might help students. Hope you’re all proud.

  • i bet this teacher's bike got stolen

  • LeBron traveled

  • the fuck?

  • nigga

  • That is a cool way to memorize your multiplications.

  • Damn that school has money...

and I have to wonder if they are learning how to multiply, or just remembering chants

  • No fair, youtube's not blocked for them. >:(

My school district has EVERYTHING blocked. Way to limit your resources!

  • @petrbok37, Way to call someone's child a "nigger," you idiot.

These kids are getting a phenomenal education so they can prove the bigots wrong!

  • what are they doing though

  • @lolbethanyxx i think they're learning the multiplication table.

  • Pretty cool teaching method.

  • Comment removed

  • @petrbok37 man shuut yo punk ass up is you mad becuase you aint have a good education

  • @petrbok37 you're going to be the one working under one of them one day. And don't say you won't be. I took a look at your profile, and saw some of your favourites. This was one of them:

    v=K--44YsdwdA

At least they're learning, unlike you.

  • 1:20 kids in the back getting detention xD

  • For some weird reason I thought the title was:

"This Is How We Rick Roll Numbers at KIPP"

  • I used to teach KIPP Taekwondo...I kinda still do.

  • @2012XF3 ahaha but they are saying let me see your fingers roll

  • 0:12 did he say "lemme see your penis grow" da fuck thats what i heard O.O

  • @2012XF3 that's right knowledge makes your penis grow

  • @2012XF3 It doesn't help that his name is Mr. Wood.

  • @2012XF3 one of them but he is supposed to say "let me see your fingers roll" sadly i know this because my teacher last year like these videos and made my class do them every day... :(

  • @2012XF3 lmao, my stomach...

  • @2012XF3 he is Mr. Wood

  • Videos on main page are getting weirder and weirder....

  • Now let's get them to make these calculations mentally as well as speedily.

  • this is the trailer for the movie comes out every year where a white teacher takes on the ghetto

  • Oh geez, I read Rick Roll...

  • Haha kid got in trouble a 1:27-2:03 in door window.

  • i was lookin at the door.....

  • I wish this guy was my teacher back in the day.

  • Comment removed

  • @ 1:23 look a white kid!!! 0_o

  • 1:20 Look through the door!

    Someones in trouble... OOOOOOOOooOOOOOOO O_o

  • i dont get it. my 5 year old can count by the same denominations

  • Ah shit. This is on the front page again.

Youtubers. . .I is disappointed in you!

  • My sister is in a simalar method of teaching. It works, but they don't rant on and on like let me see your fingers go, or thats how we roll. I'm not quite sure about that aspect.

Furthermore, this seems quite degrading in the use of slang... Newspeak anyone?

  • I thought this was "This Is How We Rick Roll...".

  • My bedroom is practically that color O_O

  • THAT'S HOW WE ROLL!!

  • 1:20 tit swallow?

  • ...18, twenteee one, 24, we're all going to college....

  • Fake and Gay

  • That's so smart! no really that's a smart way to do it

  • Did you ace the test? EVERY DAY AN EASY A

  • how come all the kids are black?

  • @GranTorino992 its a school located in a black community and im guessing they wear uniforms because of its religion or policy.

  • @Brettjet4realz ..............actually, it is a KIPP school and they are located all over the US, not in black communities. They wear uniforms because it is a charter school. Any child can go to the school. You have to apply. They actually have higher standards and are much more strict on the parents and students than public schools. You can google it. KIPP School. and it will tell you all about them.

  • @mlewall1111 then why so many blacks? u can answer the guys question then, i was just giving info on what i knew and experienced. :D

  • This is what you call "student centered" way of delivering the lessons. If it works with them with songs ... why not? It's the rhythm and music that helps them remember the numbers.

  • Hmm quite

  • what the heck

  • So any time one of these kids needs to multiply. . .their gonna have to bust out a cheesey song first?

    What's 5x12?

    5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, 55, 60. . .TAKE A DEEP BREATH!

  • @twitchster77 not necessarily, this activity provides students with an effective way to store new information & initially does make the connection with the music & rhythm; but later on students can recall the information much easier, not having to sing out the information.

  • Awesome!

  • Village Academy is better

  • wow that was pretty cool!

  • ... Are they... counting...?

Let me get this straight, a video of a lecture at Harvard about what is Ethical... Was beat out by a video of a classroom of children counting...

  • NOPE, CHUCK TESTA

  • HOLY SHIT THE BEAST IS SLAIN

YOU TOOK THAT HARVARD GUY OFF THE FRONT PAGE

  • @blakeoxx your post shows you don't know anything about Educational Systems or you're one of them who needs it. To inform you, I think you need to watch the documentary film entitled "Waiting for Superman" and you will be ashamed of yourself after knowing the real truth behind education in the USA.

  • @Mozaiko I will look that up, thanks. Though I dont think it'll help me any as I already acknowledge that the system we have now is failing. I was simply making a joke related to the situation depicted in the video. I apologize if you took it too literally as flat-out racism or a mockery of alternative approaches to education.

  • @blakeoxx naah, I didn't feel racism. I just thought you considered the approach as "not true" or fake... but if you intended to make a joke with the gestures "per se" (and of course jokes -- like stand-up comedians, would not work much without discussing skin colors) ... then I got your joke... hehehe

  • @blakeoxx racist

  • @blakeoxx actually my best friend is from the richest town in illinois. u cant get anymore white and suburban then here. he went to a great college and had tons of great offers but decided to move to 1 of the worst areas of chicago and teach kids just so he could live in public housing and make $300 a month.

  • @blakeoxx

There is no differences in intellect based on race. Just check out the multinational firms like Microsoft, IBM, etc. They often have an extremely diverse staff in terms of race.

  • @blakeoxx This is so fake. Theres no way a bunch of black kids are smart enough to stand in front of a teacher in a classroom and recite numbers.

  • @blakeoxx (just so you know)-that teacher is my son -Now the principal of the Kipp Journey Academy, he has been there 4 years and taught in Los Angeles (specifically Watts/ Compton two years before this!- IT IS TRUE, we taught them to our students (YEP) -I am the mom and teach too...

  • @kwood540 Surely, he's doing excellent world-changing work. I wish nothing but the best for him and those under his care. ;)

  • google whoisgoddotorg

  • gay system is homosexual....(no offense to gays)

  • @Spartan007George Lol, so stupid.

  • What is this I don't even? Can't kids learn things the normal way these days?

  • @Rennaaa What's normal?

  • @Rennaaa this is more efficient

  • I've never seen this teaching method. :D

  • only 6 comments.... wow ...now 7!!!!!

  • awesome

  • Sounds like a way fun way learn.

  • OMG! I'm a KIPP Believe Alumni. from New Orleans. We did this all the time. Thx for the memories> :)
