i have a sigma .40 and i have shot probablly 75 rounds through it and it has jammed twice. i mean jammed. i had to take it to a gunsmith twice because it was not safe for me to try and unload a jammed firearm with a prime cartage in it. ive been shooting winchester targets. stay away from winchesters.
Type Go to Sigma Trigger Fix,Its A Easy Fix!! Its Three Springs In The Gun That Makes The Trigger Hard 2 Pull U Only Need 1......Its A Very Easy Fix!!
Like many other people, this was one of my first handgun purchases. I purchased this pistol about 2 years ago for $330.00 after taxes. And to say the least, I haven't had a single malfunction with this gun. Although I do not carry this particular handgun for personal protection, I do have it for home defense, and would trust my life with it during a home invasion altercation.
This was a great vid, and I recommend this weapon for all you first buyers on a budget looking for a reliable weapon.
Great review and helpful. I'm new at this and this is my first purchase ( Sigma .40 S&W) do you have a video on how to clean the Sigma? I bought a cleaning kit, and I've looked at some cleaning video of other hand guns looks simple as far making sure certain parts are cleaned and new oil added. But it would be great to see the actual Sigma clean and what your expreience on cleaning hand guns are.
Awesome review, thanks. Just bought it and got a lot of negative comments about the quality and trigger. I was concerned becasue I knew I didn't spend a lot (299.00) and I really don't know much about buying pistols. Really glad to see you've had good results.
The 10lb trigger seems a bit heavy for target practice but if you're caught in a home/self defense situation you shouldn't even notice it. As for the accessory rail...i think its S&W's way of making you buy THEIR accessories. nice review
I owned a sigma 40ve and I sold it a year later.....trigger is terrible and accuracy isn't very good either.....I love smith and wesson but this gun is junk
The accessory rail is "proprietary" meaning S&W wants to squeeze as much money out of you as possible. Most other guns run the standard, mil-spec, M1913 picatinny rail.
just bought this gun over the 599$ taurus that was on sale for 299$ (same price as my smith). first three shots out of the box were center mass with number 2 and 3 in the same hole. and i havent shot a pistol since 1992. removed the pigtail spring and pull is better. simple, clean, rugged, good value for the price. good buy
i have both calibers of the sigma and love them. paid $299 + tax each from gander mtn on sale.the trigger was terrible but there is a way to fix that. by removeing the pigtail spring and very light sanding and polishing certain parts the trigger is very much improved.i went whole hog and replaced the outer spring and polished other parts as well on both to make the trigger way lighter as well.
I owned a Glock 17, 9mm, I like my sigma .40 MUCH better. Better ergonomics, stainless slide, and nice little touches like an orange mag follower to quickly see empty chamber. And the low price...I'd have paid $100 more for mine and still been happy.
this is probably THE best handgun for the buck you can buy.
I have a brand new one, and out of the box without sighting in, I was able to accurately hit the target with extreme ease. I saw no need to adjust it anyway. If I am to use it for self defense, there will be powder burns on the assailant.
I'm only 15 and using a saftey on any gun I handle is mandatory in my book. When i shot this gun the trigger pull was killing me. By the time the bullet went off the gun had risen making it impossible to hit my target without aiming low. But overall an alrite gun.
@csrob6620 how come no ever mentions in any reviews that this gun doesnt have an external safety? I'm looking to purchase my first gun and this one caught my eye but I dont get why this one has no safety.
Great gun. Have one for my bedside gun. I am use to trigger pull. I carry a G23 2nd gen mod, no rails, and 13+1. Sigma my bedside gun at home with tactical light with 14+1 rounds.
i believe that the intense trigger weight is to make up for the absence of a safety. honestly i prefer a safety on any gun i own. its always been something stressed to me growing up around guns, so its sort of embedded into my view of firearms. however, ive read that law enforcement preferred the heavy pull over fumbling with a tricky safety. it also helps prevent accidental extra trig pulls due to recoil..it happens. in all, i love this weapon. great design and value behind a name i trust.
hey i jus purchased a .40 Sigma an I love it...Its my first full size gun an I like the Handlin jus trying to find a way to Losen the trigger pull. When I took it to the shop dey told me It wasnt possible to losen it at all..?
i have a 40 just like this one and i love it i also carry it with me everywhere i go it is an awesome shooting gun i have hit everything i have shot at it with its worth the money i paid for it by far!
great video review! thanks for the insight on this pistol. i have been looking into getting myself a sigma in .40cal altho i havent fired one yet. i have a M&P.40 and a ruger p95 but i really want a sigma. most of the bad reviews this gun gets is by people who always recomend the glock's but you cant find a glock for $300. i like glocks and plan to get one but ima get the sigma 1st. great video thank
I have an old sigma 40ve and the trigger pull is great...i don't know if it's the newer ones they did that to are what..but I have no trouble with mine...
@mp15nutt I have an old 1st edition one from 1994! It is still an awesome pistol and I have only had to change a slide spring once after probly 20,000 rounds! Mines don't even have an accesory rail thing! And the barrel is totally square. People that have probs with it not having a safety and the heavy trigger pull. Well that is it's safety! Get used to it! Way safer than any glock! And Just AS Good!
the sigma is a excellent pistol i am an avid gun collector and i personally carry my sigma everywhere, if i cant go into the building with it i dont go in. as for the accessory rail there are lasers that mount to it, they cost almost as the pistol though, i recomend the sigma 40 for anyone who carries.
dont know why people bash these guns i love my 9mm 4 16rd mags for under $300 you cant beat it. the gun is an exact copy of a glock they had to settle in court over it. the gun feels far better in your hand compared to a glock. it has a solid constant trigger pull. the trigger really isnt that bad at all its a DAO and it feels like it. with this gun you can carry a chambered round with zero fear of it going off. the only way this gun will fire is if you pull that trigger hard
@cbr6864 I have heard that about Glock suing S&W over the design of the pistol! It is for sure really similar to a Glock anyway. And I agree, the heavy trigger pull is definitely an enhanced safety on the gun. Thanks for watching my friend!

0:55 staring at your target silly head. the rounds hit where your front sight tip is at not where your eye is looking.
