That's why I teach my yung'uns about Hip Hop history. My five year old son's favorite song is Slick Rick's "Children Story". My 12 year old nephew watches "Wild Style" religiously and aspires to be the next DJ Grandmaster Flash. They also listen to their Lil Wayne and do the Stanky Leg and all that, but I wanna show them, where all that came from and that Hip Hop is so much more than what is played on the radio and the video channels.
@JheriCurlJankins i do the same with my lil sisters, they like that mainstream bull but they also respect some of the older cats like nas guru scarface lords of the underground ect, because i play it around the house to help them gain that ear and respect for good music
