  • IMO, the striker is too far away from the target. Upon contact, his arms are fully straighten. It shouldn't be. The striker should be 6-12 inches closer to the target to enhance penetration per strike.

  • uuuugly

  • lol at these guys saying one martial arts is better than the other... person - type of martial arts....

  • First-rate stuff: thank you!

  • Black massive guy+karate=very strong

  • @charly345mstl lol i lik how u throw black in there it just means more brute force

  • Uechi Ryu is probably based off the training regiment of wing chun. Since the Okinawans have influence mainly from China than Japan.

  • @00:05 - "Show me wax on, wax off."

@00:14 - "Show me sand the floor."

@00:24 - "Show me paint the fence."

    "Look eye, always look eye."

  • Excelente método de Uechi Ryu....ahora permiteme mostrarte el metodo de Makiwara en Shotokan.... (ver mi video casero)

  • awesome!!!

  • Hey look, it's wing chun but worse!

  • @Incurable1488 uechi ryu can kill wing chun.

  • @DaddyWarbucks452 @Incurable1488; You're both idiots..why disrespect another style? Why bag on a styles training methods? Just because a style is different does not mean that it is worse, or that it can kill another style. If two masters got together and hacked it out and one of them won, that does not prove that the style is better, it only proves that one guy was better than the other. Both of you need to grow up a bit, methinks

  • I dont know where you guys are located but i do sho hei ryu but its a dieing art in the states

  • Boards don't hit back :} SHorin Ryu 4 me ;}

  • @faron27 Baka

  • Schön nur beim ablocken bleibt ja kein arm stehen ! daher blödsind !!!!!!!

  • Sensei thanks for the clip. Good Uechi Ryu wa uke or the aroundhouse block then chudan seiken zuki or the middle front strike. Osu

  • very nice!

  • great vid I practice 12 diff. martial arts including karate but I've never seen Uechi Ryu so thanks for showing me something new.

  • nice fists (Y)

  • @RenshiKF Yes patent traditional karate, and a training tool that has been around for centuries, so that nobody can practice without your concent: that seems like a wise thing to do! :-)

  • how did you make the dummy???

  • OSU!!! Great way to train!

  • I fear your straight punch...wow!

  • The wooden dummy versus man funny?

  • @TheThing516 why dont u challenge him????that will be him vs u on the floor!!

  • nice speed

  • where can i buy one of this wooden dummy?

    or it is a DIY?

can you show me how to made this dummy?

  • No sabia que hubiera un muñeco de madera en la practica del Uechi ryu.

    Muy bueno

  • very cool. i would like to try using a wooden dummy in my karate training. i think it can be very effective in practicing renzoku bunkai when you dont have a partner.

  • cool

  • please tell me where i can get one like this, possibly with more arms so i can practice mutiple blocks from different angles

  • @chatanwarrior u make it like most of the other stuff u train with use ur imagination thats what uechi training is all about

  • @weedNsyurp808 its not so much the lack of imagination but the lack of carpentry skills and wanting it to be right

  • very awesome training I to would like the spec on the dummy.

  • nice vid. please can you share the design of the wooden post? especially the part where it is connected to the wheel, please. I am suffering without makiwara. I do need one. And this one looks like DIY doable. Thanks

  • he needs more training

  • Hm, I've never seen Karate trained on a wooden dummy, I like it!

This looks like an original design, I like the applications, seem pretty straightforward and practical. Good stuff.

  • interesante interesting

    yaringannnnnnnn

    copy tecnique

  • looser

  • you should use the choy lee fut wooden dummy.

  • almost looks like wing chun kung fu

  • Oss!!!

  • dude i saw a little sanchin, but mostly zangochi dachi

  • He is powerful and his blocks are strong but his stances are bad . Where are the traditional Uechi stances ? I did not see one sanchin stance , no cat stances , no horse stances .

  • how would I make a dummy like that

? do they have any books on how to make a markiwara like that , if so please tell me were I can buy it at.

  • Great video. I wish they had youtube when I was a kid so I could have made one of those dummies.

  • i made some think like that when i was a kid

my arm did move. so that better. i should make one again

  • interesting makiwara

  • I don't practice Uechi Ryu, but I respect traditional karate. Great job!

    Osu!

  • u have good moves. the only thing wrong with ur "form" is ur back heel rises when u use ur reverse punch in bow stance. the back foot must be flat to deliver all the power from ur kinetic linkage. get ur energy from the earth.

  • This is good advice for what it looks like he is trying to do. however, if you have enough forward momentum when you have a low stance a rising heal can mean more reach just as long as you put it back.

  • Not just that, but somtimes rising the back heel can add for extra forward momentum, you wont have as much of a driving, grounded strike, but it can be just as powerful, just in a different way.

  • Sensei,

Thanks for the video Awsome! How do you make one of these?? You should patend it if you have not already.

    Osu

    Renshi Fookes

  • @RenshiKF Yes patent traditional karate, and a training tool that has been around for centuries, so that nobody can practice without your concent: that seems like a wise thing to do! :-)

  • damn that's a cool makiwara! me thinks i should build one like it

  • ahahah yeah me too

  • Very interesting Makiwara. Is this an older Karate style? Perhaps releated to Naha-te

  • describe how to make this makiwara if you could find the time,

    Fellow karate ka

  • Yes. That is a very interesting makiwara

  • Haisai It"s nice to see how you make the Jodan age uke , not with the ulna (as usual) but the Isshinryu way with both ulna and Radius so with the muscle. This is the way we do in isshinryu it's less painfull.

    yours in Okinawa karate.

    ps nice makiwara

    DO-MU-GEN

  • Nice targeting on the Solar Plexus, I box sometimes and they're always hitting the nose jaw kidney liver, but right in the middle is no fun to be hit, and I don't know any way to add muscle right there,..good drills, thanks for the post.

  • interesting. I didnt realize Karate guys use Dummys like this. Is this a "traditional Dummy" used in this style of Karate, or is this somthing this particular fighter adabted into his style.

  • Where can I get a wooden dummy like that?

  • Muy buena makiwara...

  • nice makiwara
