  • @bormisha I disagree. The bsod came in windows 3.0 & windows 3.1, windows 1.01-1.04, 2.03 -2.11 had the gibberish screen of death. Windows N.T. 3.1 had the listed drivers in the bsod, and 2000 followed. 95,98,ME had the windows 3x-3.x bsod. :)

  • Back in the day, they almost always had left-handed people do computer stuff in commercials and short videos like at 0:53

  • 7 years old

    Turn on new computer

    see this

    profit

  • so beautiful video...

  • I remember this video. Oh so long ago now. Thanks for the memory!

  • I think this is the first video I ever watched in a PC.

  • My First Computer as well! Even came with Jazz Jackrabbit 2 OEM!

    ...so awesome.

  • The kid invented the friday virus!

  • the fist computer I ever had... too bad I was soo dumb back then lol

  • Has a lot of similarities with Mac os 8. Both are long both show you what you can do.

  • Im Have Windows ME And windows 95 PLUS XD

  • How come they never show the harddrives of the computers?

  • Windows ME is made for entertainment and media.

Windows 2000 is made for business.

  • nice video, but not so nice os...

  • How can I download this song??

  • 'Free YouTube to MP3 Converter'

Download that free software and you can turn any YouTube video into a MP3 file.

  • What computer is that at 0:47? Is that real?

  • my first operating system! i watched this video so many times

  • ^^ OMG thank you for upload!

This brings me back so many memories!

  • Vista is an Epic Fail.

  • who does that kid think he is?

He gets a TOY hammer, which somehow breaks the computer, and runs off like 'Ugh, this is someone else's problem now'.

  • i think this might be scary but im on a windows me comp atm in 2009 man but its 9 years old on a dell dimension l800cxe 800mhz someone elses comp not mine... my own comp is a intel core 2 quad q8200 not a intel celeron 800mhz rofl! what ever just saying it works with flash player amazing right

  • if something does the work, at least all the work you need , well take all the worth for your money and continue using your computer to the end of its life.

  • yeah but i broke it from windows update then took 4 hours of waiting and then it worked but lets see the websites lagged like shit but the video was clear as shit no stuttering! i really didnt know that flash player 9 was avalible for windows me but it is try it for your self people

  • :( when the kid thong erks me

when iwas 5 i was on ms paint and make sweet pics.... now i can make my own windows! now tell me if that ad lady could do that!!??

  • This video was really good, I remember watching it on my ME computer.

  • LOL! i didnt think you could destroy your computer by lightly tapping the keyboard with a toy hammer....

  • Friends don't let friends use ME. Total crapware and never should have been released.

Vista, on the hand, is an actual decent MS. And nobody better disparage Win98SE, which was the best DOS-based OS MS ever made.

  • the kid was funny lol...

  • don't forget after the green cube crashes easy!!

  • nice ;)

    thats a typical year-2000 animation

  • Wuuu i got a millenium wuhuu!

  • W/O Doubt... a Bill GAY ass kissers!!!

  • ME is the worst OS ever released, followed by Vista. Both are bloated elephants of a software

  • yep ure right but xp is best

  • I Think you have a good point I hate ME I smashed a brain and moniter cause i hate it

  • It's amazing what a well edited and detailed promotion can do. I hated Windows M.E. it was FULL of errors, bug after bug after bug. Just a piece of crap. Windows XP did a little better with the bugs this time, but M.E. crashed TOO MUCH. Switching to Vista Premium now ;)

  • VISTA sucks more then ME. ME is like another Windows 98 SE (or FE)

  • Such as? People like you will cry the same sad song, but when it comes down to it, your bugs end up begin your own stupidity, or blaming the OS for problems with 3rd party software, bad drivers, or faulty hardware.

  • this video is on you ME if u only search

  • I had me on my first computer ever. And I loved me.

  • System Restore is definitely a piece of innovation. Talk about Time Machine.. we've had it in the bag for almost a decade!

  • I think they shouldn't have invented ME. I haven't used it much, but when I did, it was very buggy. 98 or even 95 with some updates (like IE4 or 5) worked perfectly well for the time. It was only until XP and Mac OS X that Home computing has truly become a dream.

  • WOW Good time...

  • Loads of people hate me and i dont i think its brilliant i had 95 and 98 and b4 and ma grandad now has ma old me computer and i go on it all the time me rules

  • Oh, and this is the only thing that I liked about Wimdows ME.

  • And also, Thers is some great music in this!

  • A great CGI/Live Action intro!

  • System recover never worked on my pc :|

  • The key is to set save points rather then set it on auto-pilot. It rarely works well on it's own but it can restore portions if it fails... I had to because of former owner's viruses!

  • That's the best intro to any OS by Microsoft ever. Right time to make this, it was released in 2000.

  • WARNING! A child with a plastic hammer can seriously harm your computer :-D

  • ME was the second worst Windows ever - only 98 was worse. Fucking unstable, due to its MS-DOS based core.

Nothing better than Linux or OSX.

  • windows vista is the worst windows ever

  • Second worst. Still can't beat 98, which still remaines the worst shit M$ ever released. ;-)

But it rises ME to a third place, counting from the bottom.

    The second worst Windows ever.

Dunno why M$ is making nothing but shit. They have all the money, they could use it for good developpers. Just look at Ubuntu or Ma OS X Leopard: It's definitely possible to make good OSes for x86 PCs.

  • windows 98 is better in my opinion

  • I had five blue screens a day in average. And it was unwise to move the mouse too fast, or the screen would freeze and you'd have to restart the system. When writing a text you would press strg+s every time you place a stop, because you never knew when the application would suspend again. Happened all the time, and killing it via task manager didn't really work.

Hard to beat that. My sis has Vista on her notebook and it's crap, but not as much as 98.

  • yeah, windows 98 gets the BSOD commonly, but vista has a shitload of bugs and is a ripoff of mac os x

  • No it isn't! Windows Vista is the best!

  • well i take that back now because of new patches fixing the bugs in vista. ME is officially the worst windows version

  • Nope, never had a problem with ME myself! I still use it. I own every MS OS except NT. Win 95 is pretty lame

  • I Had One of Those

    Fookin Amazing Computer

  • I think Windows ME & windows 2000 is a better Operating System than Windows Vista.

  • i like windows 2000 better

  • They made a good video for a horrible, crashing operating system.

  • This is one of the best videos ever, and yet

Windows ME is one of the worst Operating Systems ever.

Anyway, it would be so cool if Ubuntu made a video like this

  • It would be even cooler if Vista used a edied verson of this.

  • Totally agree!

  • great idea i like windows me the best (= works so perfectly almost better then XP

  • Our XP sucks!

  • What I must of not been thinking XP Rocks!

  • windows ME was the last operating system having to run MSDOS

  • I think you are 100% right.

  • Accually Windows Me was the last Operating System that was build on top of MS-DOS.

  • Wow Microsoft's Windows ME.ME stands for the Mistake Edition it just looks like Windows 95,98,and NT 4.0

Thank god for XP and Mac OSX

  • This should be the commercial for Vista

  • exactly what i think. so much better

  • This is funny...lol

  • Yeah, Windows ME is made of bad and lose. D:

  • LOOOOL...XDD I have a Windows ME, and I'm FINALLY getting a new computer, and I've had it since it first came out, so I know the system restore SUCKS!!=P

  • cool video. makes the OS look good

  • no blue screen of death, i thought that was a new feature

  • @theninja21 Blue screen of death did not exist in Windows ME (to be exact, blue screens existed there, but they were in many cases recoverable, not resulting in a necessity to reboot). BSOD is a distinct feature of Windows NT and its descendents (Win2000, XP, Vista, 7).
