I'm a nurse and I recently lost a youngish man around 50 years of age to cancer. His daughter, who was around my age (30 ish) doted on him and spent every minute with him before he died. She was his youngest daughter and I could tell that they both adored one another. This song reminds me of that father and his devoted daughter and their loss. So very sad. A really sad part of my job.
During the movie at the end of the Disney MGM Studios Animation Studios Tour you sat down to, the "Baby Mine" song began when Great Prince told Bambi his mother couldn't be with him any more, following a montage of sad scenes from the Disney films including one where Ariel is sobbing when she thinks Eric jilted her for another.
My eyes are seriously stinging with tears, despite that the song says not to cry.
This is a simply touching video. The song is perfect for the mother-baby bond between Bambi and his mother.

I hope so too. This will be her first Christmas without her father, I'll certainly be thinking of her.
