Well I have used dollar bags of pipe cleaners 50 in a pack for over a yr because i can't get a hold of tobacco pipe pipe cleaners. I find they work good for me even if their coloured. Thanks for the tips Eric.
Most of the online pipe and tobacco sites sell Long's pipe cleaners - that's my favorite brand. They aren't much more expensive and worth ordering online in my opinion. Glad the colored ones are working for you.
i agree that the zippo is great for re-lighting, not to mention it is harder for the wind to blow it out if you are outside. make sure that any lighter you buy is burning a gentle orange flame like the one in this video. torch lighters burn a lot hotter, and can damage your pipe.
Zippos are great for relights. Wouldn't hurt to have a disposable butane for initial lights. The hotter flame makes the first light easier, but also makes it easier to damage your pipe. Take it nice and slow.
I'm about to start smoking a pipe. Im 17 right now, but I turn 18 the 5th of July, and the 6th im going to buy meself a pipe! I have smoked my friends pipe, and I very much liked the taste, and can see myself smoking the rest of my life. Going to buy pipecleaners, and different pipecleaning tools.
My question is about lighters, I'm thinking of buying a Zippo Pipe-lighter, or something similiar. Would you recommend that, or should I just use a normal despensable lighter, thanks.
I like Zippos for relights - wouldn't hurt to have a regular disposable butane - they have a hotter flame which is good for that initial light, but its also good for damaging your bowl so be very careful. Follow my advice in the pipe lighting video about taking it slow when you light.
As someone who is addicted to nicotine I would say think it over before you start. But it is your choice, and smoking pipe is great, I have done every form of tobacco and Cope and pipe are my favorites, (had to quit cope cause it was messing with me to much). I smoke with a Zippo, and they make a pipe Zippo, I have good results, anyways enjoy and good luck either way. By the way, great informative video!
Great video about the basic tools that every pipe smoker...beginner or advanced should have. I have one comment about the box of matches that you featured here. I bought several of those matches...Diamond brand...and have found that they are the bane of my lighting experience. In my griaffe video, those are the ones that took 8 times to strike one match. Have you had this problem...or is it just me?
its a WOW review ,,,every thing a smoker need to know i cant wait to c the rest,,i use the BBQ lighter for churchwardens as they give me the control and distance i need over the length of the stem,,great work Eric
I like the vids, but please if you do anymore, change the music, it's doing my head in!

the strike anywhere ones are bad, but the small strike on box ones are ok.
