That dude on Tenor sax, next to Doc, has sat in with my band a couple of times. Tom Politzer. Great musician, they couldnt have done better. Bay Areaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah! proud
@THEHUNGRYVEGETARIAN I filmed this at Jazz Alley in Seattle. AWESOME venue! I've sat front row table before and that was WAY TOO CLOSE! I had horn spit on me, gross!!!
there is a short lived fussion band called trio of doom they only made one album and only went on one tour but they pretty much just jam and improve you might like it.
Yes. The Tower of Power horns backed up Huey Lewis on the Fore and Small World CDs. Look up Tower of Power in Wikipedia. The horn or rhythm section have backed up many artists in concert or recordings.
Almost 40 years ago I bought the album "Back to Oakland" and this is the song that hooked me on TOP; I've been a fan ever since. If you have never seen them live they are simply the best and I think the current line-up produces the best sound ever (thanks in part to sound man Ace Baker who is the best). I travel a couple of times a year to see them as they rarely play the SE. The new live DVD is excellent...video and sound quality are superb.
Cool!

This is wild! Whoever took this shot is up so close, to them, it is, as if, they were on stage with the group.

Never heard of this group before tonight, but I have to have this! I love it:-)
How many diferent versions are?
best live version?
best recorded version?
complete (as possible) band member line up for each of the above and what they did right that makes thier version the best?
other stuff I might like?

Best recording has to be the original from the 1974 CD 'Back to Oakland'. You can still get on iTunes or find the CD.
