@Aaron97oD Because fear of spiders is a learned behaviour and is completely irrational. Some people realise that and find tarantulas fascinating. If dogs weren't kept as pets and you were raised with people around you freaking out every time they saw one, and telling you "dogs are creepy and disgusting" (that's how it's spelled by the way, there's no C in that word) then you would have the same feeling toward dogs.

Isn't that female a Grammostola pulchara and the male a rosea? I thought they didn't produce viable young and probably don't recognize each other. I suspect that's why he might have been eaten.
