  • Morrisey en Lima 29 --02.. Estare ahi y la cantare por ti.....

  • best lyric ever!en my favo song, vivamoz forever!!

  • The greatest artist ever. Period point blank

  • ive heard it for the first time... and im 26... such a waste of time...

  • I've got to see him live now.

  • which concert was it?

  • @HankaP a combination of several but the audio and some clips are from the "Morrissey - Who Put the "M" in Manchester?" dvd

  • JUST ONE WORD "RESPECTS"

  • His voice is like valium

  • AHEIAHEIAEH tava brisando legal aqui e no começo pensei que era um carioca falando =D

  • my fav smiths song of all time

  • he's good at making goose bumps

  • 5 people have no soul, and probably have no reflection in a mirror, sad.

  • Indie is pop music. The Smiths were a pop group. Their lovely sleeves sat among other pop bands, in Woolworths, Darlington, in 1987. My heart still skips a beat when I think of the time I saw Billy Fury, that yellow 7 inch, on The Smiths last single. The NME had a full-page ad in black and white: "THE SMITHS: THE LAST SINGLE." And The Smiths had the integrity to stay dead. That ad was tragic, but beautiful. Quite a day when I turned the page and saw that epitaph.

  • Five people have lights that have gone out.

  • Indie does not exist. Not the music in itself. Just great music, contractually on independent deals. The Smiths is like Simon and G, The Beatles, The `Stones, Kraftwerk. Same level. Don`t get bogged down with the fashionable "indie" arse.

  • @transonicbuoy1 Fuck, hear-hear! Testify!

  • @steinber Thanks my friend. I bought The Smiths vinyl in 1987. Rough Trade. A few months later, they moved to EMI, a major label. Very special memories, stuck in a country house with my Smiths sleeves attached to the wall. It was clear to me then, that the band would grow in reputation, anf a lot of the other stuff I listened to would fall away. The Smiths would have been bigger than REM, countless others. Did well on a small label, despite lack of marketing. The good always comes out, eh?

  • I GAVE HIM A POSTCARDS. YOU JELLY?

  • See You in Warsaw, Moz. I will be probably crying like a fuckin' baby.

  • Forget you hell! Morrissey FOREVER!!

  • se pudesse resumir essa musica seria ela a mais bela poesia da minha vida

  • i would get beat up by security to touch morrisseys hand

  • can anybody imagine what would of had been of life with out morrissey i just cant imagine to be hones

  • i would fight until i was dead for that shirt

  • @Anthoonyf i would fight fo it too untill i kill someone for it if i had that shirt in my hand i would die in peace to be hones

  • To die by your side, Moz, is such a havenly way to die.

  • think i watch this about 373737388 times a day.

  • i love this man more than life.

  • Who could ever forget Mozza.

  • i love this man and i would only go gay for you mozza....

  • Who could forget you?...How could we forget you!

  • thanks man for this movie. Moz is God!

  • mOZ

  • this is a classic song....I love Moz...omg I admire and worship the footsteps he walk on...

  • God bless this man - what an absolute legend!

  • they seemed hurried to get out at the end :P

  • @Mozzerella100 Actually, if you've seen the full footage, they stayed on stage for quite a while.

  • Utterly sublime.

  • 20 years ago I drove a girl home from work. She was as cute as hell... I happen to have a cassete of the Smiths plating in my car without knowing she loved them too. We where singing along on the way home back then and up until now. Yeap...We married years later. We absolutely love Morrisey/ for this miracle. One thing I'm sure... if a decker bus crashes in to us, I'll be really happy to die beside my babe. . "To me she is, a work of Art". Love you Mich.

  • @salqaperu That is one GREAT story.!!! thanks for positng!!! LOL cassetes!!!

Well wishes from another fan. What a album...magic!!! I just started dating my wife too whe this album out . Thanks!

  • @salqaperu I guess the smiths is a "baby-maker" kind of band...

  • they should make a movie about morrisey.. it'd be epic, i hope to shake his hand before i die

  • The Smiths saved the 80's...musically and emotionally!

  • oh God, I dont even know what to say...

    Perfect...

    That´s it!!!

  • Is It Possible to forget morrissey?

  • I was watching this video on my ipod while waiting for my class to start today. *sigh* I never get tired of this video... especially like when he throws his shirt at the end. Memories... =)

  • saw them in -85, after the gig we drank alot of wine ...moz wasnt there, Johnny was

  • LaMad: passionate comments. Aye. Greatness comes through using the simplest language to hit home - not shite-fed academic words. Morrissey made money by doing the former, remember. Crock of shit, your comment. Shows it up for the drivel it is.

  • LaMad: WF? Shut your mouth \0/

  • In fact, Morrissey's most famous confession of unrequited love, "There Is a Light That Never Goes Out" ("And if a double-decker bus/Crashes into us/To die by your side/Would be a heavenly way to die"), emulates almost sentiment for sentiment Cuco Sanchez's torch song "Cama de Piedra" ("The day that they kill me/May it be with five bullets/And be close to you").

  • Trying to compare Morrissey with a Ranchera singer is just hilarious.

And im not agreed by the way.

  • The most striking similarity, though, is Morrissey's signature beckoning and embrace of the uncertainty of life and love, something that at first glance might seem the opposite of macho Mexican music. But check it out: for all the machismo and virulent existentialism that Mexican music espouses, there is another side — a morbid fascination with getting your heart and dreams broken by others, usually in death

  • His trembling falsetto brings to mind the rich, sad voice of Pedro Infante, while his effeminate stage presence makes him a UK version of Juan Gabriel. As in ranchera, Morrissey's lyrics rely on ambiguity, powerful imagery and metaphors. Thematically, the idealization of a simpler life and a rejection of all things bourgeois come from a populist impulse common to ranchera.

  • Pretentious cunt. Its a song, not a thesis on existentialism.

  • He really is the best.... a true original.

  • where is morrissey? the greatest lyricist of sadistic song writing in many lifetimes!!! He's the best! London humor indeed. The old way.

  • you wanker..

    fantas bitch

    luv ya morrisy no 1

  • Yo tambien me lo pregunto muchas veces.. Habra alguien mejor que morrissey alguna vez??

  • Saw Morrissey last night in Brussels, he was fantastic. He didn't sing this unfortunately but was brilliant all the same. He did take off his shirt and lob it into the crowd during encore though... one hell of a rush, some lucky soul got it!

  • i couldnt get tickets

  • Yo me pregunto, habra alguien mejor que Morrissey ?

  • I wonder, is there somebody better than Morrissey ?

  • pure magic. the man is GOD.

  • maestro

  • You have killed me!!

  • Chow Bella Morrissey...from Molley Mae Morrissey... Insane Diego..,xoxox Heaven Knows, We're Missing You Now".

  • Absolutely amazing.

  • Making music that speaks to me. Can't wait to go to his concert here in DC!

  • ah this song is too good I can barely even listen to it.

Music today is filled with scenesters and imitators, very few care about the music let alone making music that has soul and meaning (and i'm not just talking about the mainstream but most indie as well)

  • I agree totally

  • @davidg7691 Very well said, my friend.

  • REFORM REFORM REFORM!!!!!!!!!

  • Morrissey Morrissey Morrissey

    Morrissey Morrissey Morrisseyyyyyyyyyyyyy

  • Grande!

  • *.* *.*So Heavenly*.* *.*

  • I love Morrissey to bits, couldnt appriciate anyone more but haven't you noticed that ever sinse he moved from england 97/98 or something for LA he changed, he somewhat became less down to earth, and this is from an american lol.

  • He certainly seems to have more self-confidence and to be happier, I don't know if that's necessarily a bad thing. I don't think being crushed in a throng of sweaty crazed people is how I want to enjoy his music. Love him, but don't need to see him live.

  • I couldn't agree more. I hate being crushed and thrown about in concerts, especially outdoor festivals in rainy, rainy Ireland... god damn mud and sweat.

  • Love it...

  • thissong owns

  • My gosh is this a great video. Thank you Moz. It almost feels like you're there in the audience. Damn, wish I was so much. Those are my people.

  • WTF? is Moz (or this video's editing) locked in "the Punch"? Elvis lives!

  • Best ever!!! How can anybody not love him!!!My heart is full.........Thank you!

  • no one can perform this song like morrissey!

  • What do you mean? More selective in which respect? And why do you think he is gay?

  • Did it ever cross your ignorant mind that his music isn't about sales.

  • rude response.

don't kid yourself, it's all about money!

Wake up and start listening to Rush Limbaugh!

  • Who EVER said Morrissey was gay?? He himself has never admitted to being gay or straight and anyway does it matter what his sexuallty is? This IS the greatest song ever written.

  • Ok, just wondering, WHY is this the greatest song EVER written? ? ?

I've only heard a handful of Morrissey/Smiths songs, but this is easily my favorite.

If it walks, quacks like a duck, then...

  • Close your eyes and listen. This song has as much meaning as anything else mankind has achieved int he world of arts.

  • aam...what's the big deal with been gay?...I mean, I'm not gay, and I love women, but I'm not walking on the streets talking to the people I meet that "I love women"...WTF is that?....if you're gay..it's ok but keep your fucking mouth shut...who fuckin' cares?...that's why i think gay people do create their segregation by themselves...

  • Yes, Morrissey may very well have been telling the person in the car not to take him home, that he's no longer welcome, because his parents gave him a hard time about being gay. In any case, the song evokes the power of attraction and love towards someone, the kind that makes you forget hardships. But these feelings are felt by youth all over, not just in the UK, and not just by gays. It's universal. It's about coming-of-age. He longs for life, probably far from suburbian boredom.

  • Very good answer ed1976atx !!!!

  • GilliganOX needs to get laid.

  • Are you really 44 years old? Grow up mate. Why do you have such an obsession with homoeroticism? Yes, it is a recurrent theme in alot of Morrissey's songs, congratulations for being so observant. What exactly is your point? Why should that be contrary to having such a large fanbase?

You appear to be a somewhat bitter human being and it seems you have some serious hang-ups when it comes to homosexuality? Possibly a sign of sexual repression? Apologies for the amateur psychology. Good luck!

  • How does it matter, so long as people take inspiration from his songs, and not his alleged actions?

  • So you are saying I can do what I want, provided no one gets hurt?

Or am I reading too much into your words?

  • Wow, that was beautiful. I actually had tears in my eyes when it was over!

  • la zorra el publico wn

  • most charismatic living people<3

  • MORRISSEY Best irish Front man of all time bono (who)??????

  • Morrissey, the world is a better place because you're in it.

  • Isn't he just some guy who sings songs, nothing more?

What's the big deal? Why do you like him?

I expect 50 words, no less.

    Gilliganox has spoken!

  • Excellent song, great vid.
