Sorry, General, but dead or not, when Chucky wielded that rifle above his head for the NRA in order to evoke his film image of Moses and the staff, he really pissed me off. This YouTube stays. To be fair, so does your comment.
What exactly upset you? The rifle itself or the Moses inference? For the record, I wasn't asking you to remove anything and do you have the authority to remove me for expressing an opinion? I reckon that is why you posted this in the first place, to solicit opinion, right? If you took it as a personal insult I apologize. I do have a question though: why did you refer to me as "General"?
Gee whiz, First of all I didn't use profanity, why did you feel it necessary to? Secondly all I was saying was I didn't get it. Maybe I should have worded it differently, but I was merely expressing an opinion. I am not offended that she made fun of Chuck, I was offended because I didn't think it was funny.
Ah... Well, perhaps you could write down all those things which you DO find funny and pass it along to everyone so we'll know better than to offend you and your delicate sensibilities in the future.
Easy now, why the sarcasm? Did I personally offend your delicate sensibilities? Have I attacked you personally? Calm down, I admitted maybe I was a bit too forceful. At the end of the day it is just a video post. Man!
All opinions are welcome here, including criticism. And I guess I get so pissed off at Heston because he used something he created via his craft--acting--that was really emotional (the Moses icon) in his work with the NRA. And that came off as the worst sort of sellout/manipulation.
I am really busy and rushed, so I'm doing a bad job explaining, but it's sort of like using children as shields: Think of the movie Jesus Camp. It's a cheap way to champion a cause.
In lieu of a good argument, the mother effer holds up a goddamn rifle like Moses and the staff
Funny or not--that's you to decide. I thought the imitation was so bad it was funny. Go to my blog "The Erin O'Brien Owner's Manual for Human Beings" to find out more about me and what I do.
And thanks everyone for commenting. Be nice--like missionary ridge said above, it is just a silly vid post.
The thing is, old Chuck used to be a totally different guy. He was into civil rights, was offered a DEMOCRAT congress nomination, nad used to be a real 'tread the boards' Shakespearean actor and some of those early movies, like 'Khartoum' and 'The War Lord' etc. are very fine works: he had a lot of artistic input. A successful family too. But then sometime in the 70s he switched to Republican and.... well, just what HAPPENED to the guy? It's sad.
This is horrible, unfunny, and not even a remotely good impression. I don't care if it was meant to be tongue in cheek either.

Never mind the "general" thing. I wasn't even thinking.

Need a tissue, missionaryridge?
I'm sorry I can't help you with that stick in your ass, but I could definitely help you to wipe away your tears of shallow outrage.
Give it some thought, okay?

To do Heston, you need to raise an M16 over your head and enunciate every syllable. Joo Daa Been Huur...like that.
