CFL's are far worse for our environment and LEDs still use cheap electronics in their circuits so even though the LED itself may last 100,000, you rarely get anything close because the electronics in the driver circuit fails.

Let's all focus on finding and fixing our technology rather than these idiotic demonstrations that only make things worse

Relly anoying at all these discounted or most any CFL lights being sold and haveing so many problems warm up time, not fitting is some apps ,dimmer compatable problems,many types of timer and motion sensor problems, leave it on for 3 hrs minium (instructions say)And most is light out put FALSE 1/3 less than on any package. It turns out that lighting in most people's home only accounts for about 5 percent of the electric bill. It's appliances, computers, and tv's and shit like that being left on alot. People got to stop thinking that switching to cfl's will save them a boatload of money. It's only really worth it swiching to cfl's in lights that are on several hours per day. Most people that get addicted to cfl's and install them in every single socket, that is ridiculous.

True that incandecent bulbs are energy inefficient. But the more energy efficient CFLs contain MERCURY! Think of what will happen when you discard a CFL. Multiply that by several million a year... And CFLs can't replicate the ambience that incandescent bulbs provide. It's still too early to ban the incandescent bulb.
