Amazing to learn that Process of Reproduction and Fetus Development was explained so clearly by our ancient scholars, esp at those times when they did not even have something called Ultrasounds or any other modern technology!!! Kudos to our Ancient Scholars.....who are full of Knowledge!!! Wonder howmuch still there for us to know and learn!!!
The wish they did the epics in sanskrit as well (word for word), without using there imagination. People who don't understand sanskrit can use captions. It would be authentic and convey the thought process of the Rishis.
I agree that sanskrit might not have been vernacular.. but it has all the constructs to communicate effectively and unambiguously... So I dont have any objections to people actually conversing in day to day life through the medium
There is stil a village in India where Sanskrit is a vernacular language. I wish there were other movies/serials made on our epics like Mahabharata, Ramayana in Sanskrit without alterations.
I am reading the Valmiki Ramayana - moolam and there is a lot that is different from what people know.
It is in the nature of everyone to strive for happiness and avoid sorrow. We think and act to meet this end. Yet, at many times, we do not succeed and end up with opposite results. We have no control over out thoughts, actions and the end results. Obviously, our knowledge and action are influenced and impaired by something which Saivism calls anavam. Anavam is the source of our ego and ignorance.
Actually you are very wrong. Even Shankaracharya, who is none other than Shiva taught the following famous verse:
"bhaja govindam bhaja govindam
bhaja govindam muda mate
prabhu prapte sannihite kale
na hi rakshati dukrincha karane"
""O the foolish! Worship Lord Govinda, Worship Lord Govinda, Worship Lord Govinda. At the time of death, neither your word jugglery nor your grammatical proficiency will enable you to escape it." "
Amazing and wonderful conversation between two spiritual giants. We should be proud of our ancient heritage which talks of several things. All Glories to Adi Sankara.
Shiva is One the true form who was worshipped from the beginning of mankind Even Demi Gods like Krishna ,Rama and many more worshipped him on the earth He is One in Many and there is None next to him Lord Shiva changes his forms. When HE is the reason behind the creation then HE is called Lord Brahma, when HE takes care then HE is called Lord Vishnu & when HE destroys only due to the naked Truth then HE is called LORD SHIVA..Satyam Shivam Sundaram..Everyone loves HIM..just needs to be recognized.
Adi Shankaracharya is the name of the movie. The movie is in Sanskrit language and directed by G.V Iyer. You can look up on the internet to get more info.
when indians composed this, other parts of the world were in iron age. Like europeans and the whites were just hunters and didnt possess this much knowlegde. The religions they have is because of us hindus. Religion went from india to persia, to greece, to egypt and then the stone age people whites.
brahmasutram belong to the whole world. the old man who came and asked Qs to shankara was Vedha Vyasa, who actually wrote brahmasutram and Shakara wrote only the explanation of Brahmasutram. shakara himself is a manifestation of Shiva and vyasa a manifestation of Vishnu. So it was Shiva and vishnu discussing the very foundation of this life. MY heart melts becos of the compassion of the divinity. Shambo.
The actor playing the role of Adi Shankara is Sarvadaman Banerjee, a Bengali. The actor playing the role of sage questioning Shankar is G.V Iyer, who happens to be a Kannadiga and the director of this movie.
Thanks for your comment. I would love to do that but it would take a long time as I have to key the subtitles for all the scenes. I will do it but it will take some time. Hence, thought would upload the important clips first.
Are you adding the subtitles by yourself? Thanks a lot for that. I don't know sanskrit, but now I can understand what they converse. It induced me to learn more about Adi Shankara through web. Thanks.
Thanks for your comments. I am happy that you liked it :). You can download it from torrents. Don't give up even if the download takes a long time. It is definitely worth the effort spent :)
does anybody know the exact name of this verse? Would love to have a copy of it in Devanagari

it just doesn't seem right for some reason for a movie to be in sanskrit. it doesn't feel like it was ever a vernacular language.

Yup! When I cut the clips from the main movie, the subtitles don't get synchronized. So, have to manually add them :).
