  • Hey man have you tried using a wrench? Its about the same effect

  • @AmbientMusic4life I haven't, but I will. Thanks.

  • is there a texture on your screwdriver (like a brushed texture), because I've tried with a smooth metal screwdriver and it doesn't work.

  • @PaperThinPhil mines smooth, so it does work. Keep trying! Maybe try adding some more gain to your tone, it's quieter than picking. I use a compressor when I do it to level out the volume.

  • @PaperThinPhil he's right, you need to overdrive your signal quite a lot

  • nice guitar ;)

  • Screw Driver Emperor. XD

  • or if you happened to have an e-bow and slide (obviously more expensive), they'd be a usable alternative?

  • @sporkusfork they'd probably give a similar sound but every time I've seen Godspeed they've just used a screwdriver.

  • @sporkusfork I have an e-bow and slide and I think it would be difficult to do this with them, mainly because the ebow would have to be held below the slide (body end). This has a huge effect on pickups, if you controlled the pickups from going wild the harmonic content of the tone would become very rich. Also volume fluctuations may be a problem. In the demo metal on string is a good technique for this type of control and sound, for something else try the ebow & slide.

  • @Eeruwow I've got some planned for when my wrist isn't broken.

  • what pedals did you use?

  • @BabboSnazza off the top of my head I know I used a Line 6 Verbzilla for reverb, a Boss ODB-3 for distortion, an Akai Headrush E2 (tape setting) for delay and I THINK I also used a Boss CS3 compressor.

  • @4thEmpireStudios ... I'm assuming by normaly you mean acoustic, and it would work on an acoustic, but you have to strum the string, and the angle he's usig for the screwdriver wouldn't work on an acoustic, you'd scratch the finish up.

  • Are you in standard tuning? Because the other guitar parts are in a strange tuning so i wondered in the screwed (ha) bits were also.

  • @davidthegreat06 standard tuning for this part but only because I'm only doing this part. GY!BE play in open tuning (G I believe?).

  • @pandacrushtokyo some guy figured it out somewhere, they usually tune to (from bottom) Eb, Bb, Db, F, Bb. Db

  • @wayfechylde3 oh awesome, thanks!

  • haha that funny !!

  • well done well done

  • well done well done
