@laxdoug1269 if you go back up you will be pleasently surprised... we tore down the one seen in this video and began rebuilding one that makes this one look like childsplay.
If you wanna know how a real wigwam is built, offer tobacco and ask someone if you can be a helper the next time they build a lodge or wigwam. They way you approach things should always be handled with respect, or you may offend someone,.. especially where culture is concerned, you know?

I am a federally recognized Native from the Tobique reserve in New Brunswick 1st Nation. I agree with that white man in one thing though. There is no place for predudice and hate no matter which side you are born on. If you are truely a tratiditionalo native than you would honor the four colors of man equally. My grandfather grew up in residetial schools and he had nightmares his entire life and told us all of the storries and it took him 40 years to talk about any of it

Nice work! It's tighter than the woven tepee I built in sedge meadow. My alders dried up and broke so it didn't look like a cone shaped basket for more than a few years!
I'm sorry. So is this Going to be kinda like a Wattle and daub structure? Is the next step to cover it in a Mud/straw mixture? What will the outside barrier be?
I dont know what wattle and daub is. We still have a lot of cross hatching to do with smaller sticks and once we do that we will stuff it with mud/leaves. It should be pretty wind/rain proof. But you would be suprised at how well it blocks wind and rain already
The walls aren't insulated or protected from the elements, the door is to high, but other then those important things, it's pretty good.
