  • could have been a possible world record if he wasnt looking down on his last phase.

  • big deal.. jonathan could do that backwards..

  • That's a sweet landing he's got, definitely one of the best.

  • @guidozani Joao never jumped 18m, I understand the controversy but there is no real proof. Plus his technique says "I'm not an 18m jumper". Now I'm not saying he's a bad jumper, nor am I saying Olsson is god, I'm just saying there is clearly only two people who ever jumped 18+, and had the perfect technique to back it up.

  • he is good jumper ...

    that's all

there are lots of better jumpers

  • @guidozani "Good jumpers" don't win olympic games. Olsson is great.

  • @Thund3rxD Why don't ?

Just because his results was stolen ???

  • he is just a good jumper but the best of all times is JOÃO CARLOS DE OLIVEIRA

MOSCOW OLIMPIC CHAMPION and his world record that was more than 18m was stolen by the russians in that event

  • Look a fairy! lololol

  • I (L) TRIPLE JUMP!!! CHRISTIAN OLSSON IS THE BEST !!!!!!!!

VISIT ATLETA95AITANA I`M ATHLETICS FOR SPAIN (IM SORRY I DONT SPEAK ENGLISH)

  • Nice

  • ►►► Nice Video, Come check out my long and triple jump videos!◄◄◄

  • u need to update the worlds best is dwight phillips...........Change that from old best not CURRENT

  • @boogieoogie10 he doesnt even triple jump

  • @psychavoK i forgot he does long jump

    u r right

  • @psychavoK typical american. so threatened by someone else other than an american doing well he doesnt check his facts.

  • @triplestep1829 threatened? i dont know what you're talking about. if anything i just talked down about America, and that's a stretch in itself. he said that dwight phillips was the best, and i simply informed him that he, Dwight Phillips, the American, doesn't even participate in the event. your idiocy confuses me, yet arrogants will be arrogant.

  • @psychavoK i was talking about him. i was supporting you. wow. easy tiger.

  • @triplestep1829 :/ you responded to the wrong person :d

  • @psychavoK his account no longer exists.

  • His record was broken by Teddy Tamgho with 17.90 meters.

  • I think 10,27 is his best time on 100m

  • @supering in what country

  • Comment removed

  • @supering NOOO its 10.90

  • @Indestruktible88 No! ITS OVER 9000!

  • does anybody know what olsson's 100m time is like?

  • @sucena1995 in 2006

  • haha snyggt av sverige

  • Nice landing!!!

  • great use of da armz

  • Omg that's so good.

  • What leg strength execises would improve a triple jumpers leg strength?

  • kniebeuge einbeinig lins/rechts und 5er Hop sind die kernübungen!

  • obvious one, full squats. if your old enough, heavy weight, low reps

  • Look at my videos of Usain Bolt and pleas comment and be friend :)""

  • ya white people

  • He´s probably not going to be in Berlin, He said that hes not stabil enough for the moment. HE can make good jumps but he don´t want to take that risk yet. But we will see.

  • He jumped 17.24 a few weeks ago in Sweden. I hope he wins in Berlin.

  • I love his arm movement!

Jonathan Edwards is so far away!! 18.29 just wow !! A few have gone over the 18m marker

  • 18.41 was his best with a +2.1m wind

  • 18.43 2.4w

  • lol, wind and distance wrong aha

  • olympic champion, world champion and silver medallist, double European champion, double indoor world champion, indoor European champion, Golden League jackpot winner. Unbelievable

  • Believe it or not, but he has won a couple of Swedish championships as well ;)

  • Thund3rxD if you think the commantators were from Sweden, then you're confused =p It was like italian or something, it sure sounded like it anyway. But I can insure you, it wasn't swedish.

  • we were talking about other vid, not this one

  • It was Spanish, actually.

  • Lol cool

  • that the best arm technique ever

  • i love his technique

  • no u dick if it was a girl she would be jumping 15m :|

  • no its not

  • Comment removed

  • is his coach pickin his nose and licking it?

  • Yes he uses those arms well doesn't he.

  • haha, lol, that dude was at my school here in northen sweden... teaching us some tips... :P

  • hes the only pro that ive seem do a true double arm

  • rep-in swedes baby

    do work

  • Christian,I miss you:(<3

  • where has he gone?

  • He is still injured and he rarely starts.

  • the difference between him and edwards is he winds up for the double arm on the first phase. you are not suppose to do that. check out my videos of jon edwards. the first phase you should just let your arms come up.

  • it really just depends on who you are what arm technique you use. with the double arm you get more vertical lift, but you have more power. its really how your foot strikes that really matters and keeping balance and posture.

  • edwards did single for along time never got over 18 ever. then he decided to perfect his form learning double than surpassing 18 multiple times. check out his video. he explains it. somebody might break jon edwards WR but it wont because they were smoother or had better form

  • He switched to double arm on his second phase, On his first phase he kept the single arm. he went single, double, double. what christian does is double, double, double. Evora and Idowu use single arm on the first phase like Edwards. Basically all American jumpers except Kenta Bell I believe use doudle arm on the first phase. big difference between the two techniques.

  • evora does single on first phase yes. idowu and edwards were different. they did sort of a half double. which is right when you take off both hands go up. but you dont wind up like olsson does

  • ok your right. i wehnt back and looked. they do one and half arm block. but there is nothing wrong with gathering your arms in front. he is using his arms as pendulum and keeping momentum. i believe it is more effective than just dropping your arms back before you take off with the double.

  • yea, i think it depends i tried doing the wind up but it screwed up my steps and take off. i fouled more. but that was just me.

  • I use it and it works better for me. just like the single or double. it just depends on who you are.

  • Great Jumper.

  • it seems to me edwards success was down to fact he never over stretched each phase of his hop skip and jump, it was fluent and relaxed, building the momentum up to the actual jump at the end.

These guys tend to put to much strain on the first and second stages, and losing momentum for the jujmp phase.

  • I think that when edwards jumped 18.29 his last jump was 7.33m!! that is crazy!

  • 7.06m, still crazy though !

  • Comment removed

  • 7.02m my bad

  • it wasnt 7.33 it was like just 7 meters

  • triple jump looked easy and was fluid for edwards bc he has the quickest foot strike between phases ever recorded by a triple jump. this allowed him to maintain as much momentum and spped as he did.

  • Has anyone ever got anywhere near edwards' record??

Seems like on of the most impressive world records ever set!!!

  • yeh, dude who won 96' olympics got one over 18, but other than that no

  • he is cute...lol. i like his hair and he is a great jumper!

  • this was in budapest where i live:D

  • Phillips Idowu is the world number 1 triple jumper.

  • he is nothing compared to olsson

  • Olsson will quit soon. I think we've seen the last of him, actually.

  • maybe the 2nd! you forgot nelson evora...

  • Fjantigt av Aftonblaskan att påstå att det här skulle vara världsrekord. Det är ju inte i närheten av Jonathan Edwards.

  • Men.. Inomhusvärldsrekord!

  • Japp, fattade det sedan.

  • i will miss him in Beijing :'(

  • Jadel Gregorio did 17m90 last year, he is the favorite to gold medal at Beijing.

  • gregorio hasnt even jumped 17m consistently this year. he is far from the favourite.

  • he isn't

  • bravissimo olsoon !!!!!!!!!

    bellissmo salto !!!

  • wortrist, if you looking him up then wouldnt that make you gay? you stupid fuck.. give up on life

  • faggot

  • Vilken Åsna

  • you're a jerk

  • isnt this guy constantly getting injured so thats why we in america never see him on tv during REAL meets?

  • Well he won the 2004 Olympics, but hey, the Olympics aren't that big really...

  • he's been injured for two years now, so he has quit with triple jump.

  • realyy?

  • yeah.

  • Actually, no, he's training for a comeback. His goal is to be back in time for the next olympic games.

  • where did you get that information from?

  • /watch?v=_ucAasHFZzs

  • I can't understand a word in swedish :(

  • I had a hunch, but anyway, it's all in there. Either you trust me that it is or you'll have to learn a little swedish.

  • this is because you are homo

  • he s been tryin to comeback but not for the next olympics...he tried to come back for olympics 2008 but couldnt, now hes tryin to comeback for the world championships 2009

  • johnathan edwards is way better

  • he's thinking off becoming a highjumper again

    he jumps 2.26m high

  • 2.28 actually, both indoors and outdoors...

Don't think he will ever show his potential fully in that event though, sadly. The question is: will he in the triple jump??

  • you sound stupid

  • you sound pretty stupid yourself.

  • If Christian can get away his injuries he will probably be one of the best again. The bigest danger is that he losing his motivation when he is injured all the time.

  • nelson evora is the one now, great technique, and the cubans are great also but edwards the best of them all.

  • Olson is not too bad, but JONATHAN EDWARDS is the king of TRIPLE JUMP!!!!

  • Haha, you can "buy" your way somewhere else, tart!

  • if they were outdoors yeah, but not indoors, the jump on the vid is the current indoor wr

  • GO SWEDEN!! :D

  • Olsson is truly one of my biggest idols within the track & fields! Hopefuly I can be just as good as he is! keep your fingers crossed y'all!

  • Olsson is very strong! I hope he will come back soon at the top and beat the wonderful Jonathan Edwards' WR!!

    [ Love Triple Jump!!!! ]

  • Why are Swedes always so bad at jumps.

    hehehe

  • His card reads Seiko(pronounced physco), hahaha.

  • Gooo SWE!

  • white boy BEAST!!!!!!!

  • Olsson will beat the WR, just wait until he's free from injures. Edwards is just a grayhaired old farmer xD

  • Are you real? This lanky streak of piss with school boy technique is way off world record calibre..he's just lucky he wasnt competing against edwards at edwards best! Olsson would of tired of losing to the superior athlete and retired early! Check out edwards 18,43m. ciao.

  • i tell you, just wait and see ;)

  • Nice jump But Edwards is the best OUTSIDE and Olsson INSIDE this is the deal!!!

  • YO, olsson is one of my favorite triple i'm 15 and already have 15m20

  • No olsson would get the WR in osaka

  • he has talent but edwards is gods gift edwards talent is amazing and nopne can take it away from him olsson might go over 18m but i dun think will break the WR.

  • i think he has a bunch of potential to break the wr cuz

after the first 2 phases i think he knows it a good jump so hes kinda impatient on his landing

  • forget edwards, he's already quit!

  • man I wish, I had A HOT HIGH JUMP LIKE THAT!!!!!!!!!

    Sweet.

  • very unpleasing to watch. lanky legged and restricted talent..makes jonathan edwards look even more impressive!!

  • He's the one that could beat the world record.

You gotta be kidding me when you say hes talent is restricted.

    He is very talent.

  • hahah, it's targic you can't see someone else win than edwards, you're just afraid that he will beat the world record!

  • I'm not afraid of him beating the world record simply because he couldn't!! sorry to disappoint. Remember also 'edwards jumped 18.43m with the wind just over the legal limit. These distances are out of reach for olson. get real pal!

  • he is the second best triple jumper ever and he is half a meter far from the world record

  • wow great jump i do tripple jump at school and got like 8 meters lol

  • Nice jump :)

  • what the hell? in our school we only do a little skip and then our takeoff jump....its like we do a double jump or something.........if anybody knows why tell me

  • because thats the hardest phase you have to really concentrate on that i just hit 40 ft in highschool which took me a little while. Its all about being consistent with the sizes of each jump--you can literally hear how rhythmic this event is by listening to the feet hit the ground on each jump even spaced apart. As for the step you will be the best jumper if you can get the step its all about the pendulum from the first phase to second a good strong actual jump and driving the knee.

  • I remember back in high school, our triple jumpers never did the second phase correctly. It went like this: hop___step_jump____ instead of hop, skip, jump. Even our best triple jumper, who consistently jumped 45-46' was doing that hop, step, jump. Is that what you mean by double jump, where it doesn't look like there's a second phase in between?

  • how far is that in feet

  • Multiply by three. A metre and a yard are pretty much the same thing. Also, you probably could have figured it out faster by just typing it into google.

  • multiply by 3.25 or its about 58 ft

  • 58.49737533 feet

  • he is an animal.

  • just plain nasty. talented cat.

  • jonathan edwards is da real deal

  • (Correction: WAS) and he is still very young and improves his results all the time so it's probably just a matter of time. Edwards also admitted once that Olsson is the more skillfull of them two

  • Jonathan Edwards is better!

  • lol, he's better just outdoor
