Sugar Ray Robinson is the greatest pound for pound, though Ali is arguably the best Heavyweight. You got to take into account the 5 years he wasn't allowed to fight in his prime.
@wuzcloopin Yeah. Technically or even statistically Ali is not the best. But it's his style and grace combined with fighting skills which make him the greatest.
Yo KhalilJ. Thanks a lot dude. What a great vid. Especially the speech clip at the beginning. Ali wasn't just a great boxer. He was also a leader of the American Civil Rights Movement. That makes him not just a sport's hero, but a real hero. As far as I know, there's never been another athelete like him. Ever seen the news clip when he saved the guys life in Vegas? Anybody who hasn't and wants to should search for "Muhammed Ali saves man from suicide". What couldnt my man the Greatest do?
Fux Ali....check your history...."The Greatest" is just his stage name....He was a entertainer without a doubt however...this same guy stabs his friend "Frasier" in the back after he gave him money and support when he had nothing by "Calling him ugly, uncle tom for not being muslim and not entirely hating white people, throwing chairs at him while he practiced...OH and I didn't mention Ali spoke in a KKK rally supporting them...fux ALI..
my favourite 10 fighters are 1. pernell whitaker 2. mike tyson 3. jake lamotta 4. roy jones jr. 5. roberto duran 6. joe louis 7. jack dempsey 8. joe calzaghe 9. floyd mayweather jr. 10. muhammad ali
Take out Tyson and that is a good list. Tyson is a disgrace to the noble art. Pound for pound Sugar Ray Robinson is the greatest of all time, but there will be another boxer like Ali.
Ali is and will always be the GREATEST of all time. Not only for being a defending heavyweight champion but for defying and going against the grain in a time when blacks in America were prosecuted for simply standing for their rights. Ali was a true champ...a fighter...a man who fought for his rights, for others, regardless of creed, race, or religion. man is one. and this is what Ali represented. ALI FOREVER
Joe Louis vs Muhammad Ali, is the biggest fight of all time. I thnk if their is one fighter who could give a prime Ali a real fight it would have to be the brown bomber.
its illogical and total mismatch to compare Mohammad Ali with any other athlete of any era. george Foreman said "Mohammad Ali is too big for boxing, keep boxing aside, he is not only a great boxer he is a great man"
and how can u compare him with any other boxer. no other boxer can introduce things like rope-a-dope and words which once used by ALI are now known and used everywhere in the world forever.words like rumble in the jungle, i shookup the world, i am greatest, float like a butterfly..
Ali is the gayest fighter that ever lived & the most over-hyped, notice how he holds a lot in most of his fights also, & always on the backfoot, tyson at his best would have ate this pansy ballet boy up, also rocky marciano would have ate joe frazier up for breaskfast ( ali lunch ) frazier had one punch his left hook, & a glass jaw ( foreman fight ) marciano was the best conditioned heavy of all time, he had a left hook, uppercut & a right hand from hell, & the punches came from all angles.

what a legend the world will never see another man like ali
5 greatest people whoever lived in my opinion.
1. nelson mandela
2. muhammed ali
3. martin luther king
4. mother theresa
5. mahatama gandhi
these five people are not in order there all eqauLLy brialliant they have all stood up for what they believe in they were gods gifts to the earth true legends
I don't believe in bashing other fighters accomplishments. Foreman, Frazier, Marciano, Shavers, Young, they were all great! I belive Ali is the greatest of all time, in part because of his giving it up for his beliefs, but also because of all the great fighters he had to compete with. If Ali had to fight lesser competetion like the heavyweights of today, he wouldn't be the legend he is now. Neither would Foreman, Frazier or any of the others. Those were the days!
khalilij These are my great boxers of all-time 1. Muhammad Ali 2. Sugar Ray Robinson 3. Joe Louis 4. Jack Johnson 5. Teofilio Stevenson despite he didn't turn pro 6. Marvin Hagler 7. Thomas Hearns 8. Sugar Ray Leonrad 9. Larry Holmes 10. Mike Tyson
@peasah2005 nice list altho i would put some lightweights in there.... they are all heavy and middle weights... and i would have put george foreman instead of holmes.. also where is roy jones jr? but as you say.. this is your list ;) cheers bro
@khalilj Roid Jones does not belong in the top 10. Yes, skill wise, he might be. But level of opposition is too weak. I mean he basically had two good victories his entire career, Toney and B-hop. Rest was bums, and some were SERIOUSLY bums. And what makes it even worse is that there were plenty of big names out there at the time.
He never took changes. When he stepped up to HW he faced perhaps the weakest champ ever, John Ruiz. Whats wrong with Lewis ?
I felt that Muhammad Ali is Number 1 because Ali had so much when it came to skill and heart.
Ali has been there and done it.
Also, the others before Ali and after him were about skill and brutality, but there's something special about Muhammad Ali and that's he knew how to back things without any fear whatsoever.
Brother Floyd Mayweather Junior is gifted no doubt about that, but he's not well known than the list I gave, because not only they've been in their game in history, but because they brought the best in their prime.
You can't call Teofilio Stevenson great, you might as-well put Sam Langford as your P4P number 1.
Henry Armstrong not in your 10, are you on drugs?
Plus I would rank Jimmy Wilde higher than Larry Holmes and Mike Tyson who apparently went 103 fights undefeated, and is easily the best flyweight of all time.
Not starting an internet fight, but your list wasn't thought about clearly.
That's you, but I chose who I consider the great boxers of all-time and that's Ali, Larry Holmes, Mike Tyson, Sugar Ray Leonard, Marvin Hagler, Thomas Hearns, Joe Louis, Jack Johnson, Teofilio Stevenson, Sugar Ray Robinson and Jack Johnson.
Fuck that. Ali fucked him up when he was in his prime and ali was old. Thats enough. Says it all. Ali mouch greater. Ali whould have fucked up every fighter in the history. Tyson, foreman, and that white bitch rocky marsherano. Nobody could stand aganist his speed and power. The king! Greatest athlet of all time!
hes cussin a dude who sed he cudnt beat foreman.. cuz he wasnt the same man 10 years ago.. he says to him ur wife told me u wernt the same man 2 years ago.. love it haha. ali is the greatest boxer, greatest sportsman, greatest rolemodel to this very day
nastylefthook1 is soo dumb u cud never be as great as Ali was so y get jealous; The saying- behind every successful person there lies a pack of haters;U jus proved yur 1 of dem with yur fake comments; U wished u were Ali but u kno u cant gee!!FOOL
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
ali was a great boxer and definitely the best at that time but he wouldn't succed with that kind of boxing today! like every other sports boxing changed and advanced in the last 30 years!today heavyweight has more to do with technical skills as with pure punching power. then it was a total different kind of boxing
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
of course. look how easy it was to catch him with some bombs! he was to open.then it was unmanly to be cautious. that's the reason why he became ill. he was the king of a devision of puncher without boxing skills. of course he could beat opponents like ruiz and may be peter. but he would get big trouble with lewis or klitschko.
Foreman came back in 1994 to regain the world heavyweight title. In their era, WELL past his prime, almost 20 years past it. You can't say Lewis and Klitschko are harder hitters then Foreman!! Ali beat Foreman when Ali was past his prime. Ali would have no trouble against the power of todays boxers, generally he had an amasing chin (yes I do know that he broke it against Norton).
he came back but there were a lot of controversial victories .the german guy axel schulz was definitively robbed against him. i think they did a lot to avoid that a legend like formen ruin his reputation. They are no harder hitters than formen and ali in there prime. but lewis had and klitschko has much better boxing skills.ali wouldn't have trouble with the power but they would box out him.
I agree Sugar Ray Robinson was a better p4p boxer, Ali himself admitted this so it isn't even a debate. I'm not convinced at all by Chavez. I think Henry Armstrong or Joe Louis are debatably better then Ali, I don't think that they are but it is debatable. I strongly think ALi was better then Chavez though.
Even though Ali once said that SSR was better p4p, doesn't mean it's true. Tyson said that Ali was the best ever... There is only two reasons I can think of why Ali said that; because SSR was hid idol, and of course because SSR was awesome. Joe Louis or Henry Armstrong was also good, but imo not anywhere near Ali.
I just flat out, completely don't rate your opinion any more. Jack Johnson 3rd best boxer of all time!? Are you fucking serious. Sonny Liston. Name 3 good opponents Liston fought, hmmm... He beat Floyd Patterson and lost twice to Ali. This incredibly pathetic top 4 coming from the same person who said 'George foreman hit hard, but he was not that good' George Foreman with a smarter game plan probably would have won the rumble in the Jungle. George Foreman 81 fights, 5 losses. Ali 61 - 5
Jack Johnson was the best of his era, and the first black heawyweight ever. He had a very special and good style due to the poor quality of boxing at that time. Sonny Liston would have beat George Foreman. When George fought Ali he had very bad tactic and skill, that's why I say he is not that good. Liston had arguably the best jab ever and he was almost unstoppable at his best. Considered the fact that Liston had a bad childhood and he did not have a good trainer like everybody else.
Muhammad Ali is not only the greatest athlete in the world, but he was self-conscious because when Jack Johnson was making a fool of himself with those white girls, Ali stated that in the South were he came from Louisville, Kentucky, if an African was caught with a European then he would be lynched.
Now uv started readin dis dunt stop. This is so scary. Send this to 5 ova videos in 143 minutes. When ur done press F6 and ur crushes name will appear on the screen in big letters. ali was/is a great guy. The talk was to "put asses in seats" and psyche out his other opponents as well as instilling confidence in himself. Anyway evreybodies a expert but I KNOW one thing...ALI = G.O.A.T.
stevenhennesey1,,,,first of all clay was not the greatest,,maybe louis, demsey, marciano but not clay,,,second,,why dont you get behind decent black human beings like patterson, frazier, norton, and a few ohers,,why put clay on a pedestal,,he was a loud braggart,,who insulted fine black athletes,,like archie moore who he knocked out then stood over him with his hands raised talking shit,,,moore was a fine man who still holds career knockout record,,clay called frazier a black gorilla
nastylefthook1 or sf75115 as you like... get yourself a life, stop hating on the greatest boxer ever lived.. you just can't stand he was not patriotic enough for your small mind.. he said things in times no one would dare speak his mind.. that makes him great and everybody now understands his point of view.. your 57 so i think your still stuck in the 50's.. if you was my grandfather i would slap the shit out of you!!
muhamed ali started boxing coz a kid stole hes bike and he whent 2 the police and said hed woop the guys ass who ever stole hes bike the oficer said you need 2 learn 2 fight 2 do that if it wasnt 4 that he wouldnt be who he is now the greatest boxer that ever lived and my inspiration
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
cassius clay talked so much shit and now hes just a mumbling stumbling fool,,,you should have been more humble in life clay,,,it came back to bite you,,,,all those insults you tossed at decent men ,,they all have the last laugh now,,like joe frazier said,,,whos the dumb one now
he is not selfish he turned his back beacuase on his country cos he didnt want to die ali is the greatest of all time he gave his life to boxing he lived in a bad neighbourhood and was taught boxing not like a fucking pussy like u sf now stfu coz u r a piece of shit
Thank you for making this video. To me, Ali has always been and will always be a beacon for what a man can be like: Strong and proud and yet compassionate and moral. He is a shining example for all of mankind.
khalilj,I blocked him last year. I just didn't want him ruining your spot, without a response so others could see him for what he is. He is the one that doesn't like the truth.
sf75115, Muhammad Ali has accomplished more good in this world just by walking down one street, exuding warmth and love, than you ever will in 1,000 lifetimes of spreading hate, from behind a computer.
he s shakin' today, cause he faced the fights he had to fight.ur a pussy.u wont shake.but nobody s gonna make a tribute vid about a pussy like you either, motherfucker
Legend? Only according to a very small mind. Cassius Clay is a cowardly selfish arrogant fool who turned his back on his race and country. Lengend? Yea, right. Cassius is the best alright, best loser of all time.
sf75 u on crack?, i guess you think your some proud patriot fighting and honouring your country. well check this bitch, U.S.A said it was wrong for them to go to war with vietnam, so if you really want to respect your country, respect the opinion views and actions of the greatest boxer Muhammad Ali, otherwise die slow hypocrite
sf75115, Legend?, Yes, forever too. A very small mind? Well, he is still the most recognized man on the planet and the most loved, because all the great minds have now recognized all his accomplishments around the world, and I don't mean just in the ring. Turned his back on his race? No, he didn't turn his back on any race, He did, and still does, walked amongst all races, and religions. Coward? No, the cowards ran away to other countries, He fought legally, in the courts, and won.
what a great video!!!!

Amen to that!!!

@peasah2005 nice list altho i would put some lightweights in there.... they are all heavy and middle weights... and i would have put george foreman instead of holmes.. also where is roy jones jr? but as you say.. this is your list ;) cheers bro
khalilj 2 years ago
@khalilj haha yah i was gonna say wheres roy jones jr? lolz
TheWoWNuc 1 year ago
@khalilj Roid Jones does not belong in the top 10. Yes, skill wise, he might be. But level of opposition is too weak. I mean he basically had two good victories his entire career, Toney and B-hop. Rest was bums, and some were SERIOUSLY bums. And what makes it even worse is that there were plenty of big names out there at the time.
He never took changes. When he stepped up to HW he faced perhaps the weakest champ ever, John Ruiz. Whats wrong with Lewis ?
And btw, Hearns is not ahead of srl.
BringerOfTheTruth 1 year ago
@peasah2005 good list, but your missing one really important boxer. Pernell "sweat pea" Whitaker.
TheProlific1980 1 year ago
@TheProlific1980
I hope you enjoyed the list.
I felt that Muhammad Ali is Number 1 because Ali had so much when it came to skill and heart.
Ali has been there and done it.
Also, the others before Ali and after him were about skill and brutality, but there's something special about Muhammad Ali and that's he knew how to back things without any fear whatsoever.
peasah2005 1 year ago
@peasah2005 how can you leave mayweather out?
ardelong41 1 year ago
@ardelong41
Brother Floyd Mayweather Junior is gifted no doubt about that, but he's not well known than the list I gave, because not only they've been in their game in history, but because they brought the best in their prime.
peasah2005 1 year ago
@peasah2005
91Williams91 1 year ago
@91Williams91
I thought to my list of great boxers, thanks for asking.
I think I chose who I regard as great boxers.
Teofilio Stevenson although he didn't turn pro, but at least he was a creditable athlete as an amateur.
Larry Holmes, because of his skilful jabs.
Mike Tyson despite his brutal but he can't handle pressures more than Muhammad Ali, Sugar Ray Robinson and Joe Louis.
peasah2005 1 year ago
@peasah2005 No rocky?
barguna 1 year ago
@barguna
That's you, but I chose who I consider the great boxers of all-time and that's Ali, Larry Holmes, Mike Tyson, Sugar Ray Leonard, Marvin Hagler, Thomas Hearns, Joe Louis, Jack Johnson, Teofilio Stevenson, Sugar Ray Robinson and Jack Johnson.
peasah2005 1 year ago
@peasah2005 Just switch Rocky with Stevenson and I think it's great list!

Brotha Muhammad is one of the greatest athletes the world has ever seen.
Brotha Muhammad was fast, courageous, he had love and dignity for anyone that loves boxing or not.
Ali was never afraid to speak his mind, because the truth was in his heart.
Ali was fast, funny, self-conscious and a great athlete in the world.

ali was a great boxer and definitely the best at that time but he wouldn't succed with that kind of boxing today! like every other sports boxing changed and advanced in the last 30 years!today heavyweight has more to do with technical skills as with pure punching power. then it was a total different kind of boxing
maddes111 3 years ago
spoken like someone who doesn't know boxing. You telling us that Ali couldn't whip Holyfield, Ruiz, Peter and Kitchcho???
LinFahrenheit2 3 years ago
This comment has received too many negative votes show
of course. look how easy it was to catch him with some bombs! he was to open.then it was unmanly to be cautious. that's the reason why he became ill. he was the king of a devision of puncher without boxing skills. of course he could beat opponents like ruiz and may be peter. but he would get big trouble with lewis or klitschko.
maddes111 3 years ago
Foreman came back in 1994 to regain the world heavyweight title. In their era, WELL past his prime, almost 20 years past it. You can't say Lewis and Klitschko are harder hitters then Foreman!! Ali beat Foreman when Ali was past his prime. Ali would have no trouble against the power of todays boxers, generally he had an amasing chin (yes I do know that he broke it against Norton).
Adebay0r 3 years ago
he came back but there were a lot of controversial victories .the german guy axel schulz was definitively robbed against him. i think they did a lot to avoid that a legend like formen ruin his reputation. They are no harder hitters than formen and ali in there prime. but lewis had and klitschko has much better boxing skills.ali wouldn't have trouble with the power but they would box out him.

hes good....
but not the greatest
Sugar Ray Robinson and Julio Ceasar Chavez
are WAYYYYYY better fighters
hes a good talker....maybe the greatest!!!lol
CAS53507 3 years ago
I agree Sugar Ray Robinson was a better p4p boxer, Ali himself admitted this so it isn't even a debate. I'm not convinced at all by Chavez. I think Henry Armstrong or Joe Louis are debatably better then Ali, I don't think that they are but it is debatable. I strongly think ALi was better then Chavez though.
Adebay0r 3 years ago
Even though Ali once said that SSR was better p4p, doesn't mean it's true. Tyson said that Ali was the best ever... There is only two reasons I can think of why Ali said that; because SSR was hid idol, and of course because SSR was awesome. Joe Louis or Henry Armstrong was also good, but imo not anywhere near Ali.
1. Ali/SSR
2. Joe Louis
3. Jack Johnson
4. Liston
Scarzet 3 years ago
I just flat out, completely don't rate your opinion any more. Jack Johnson 3rd best boxer of all time!? Are you fucking serious. Sonny Liston. Name 3 good opponents Liston fought, hmmm... He beat Floyd Patterson and lost twice to Ali. This incredibly pathetic top 4 coming from the same person who said 'George foreman hit hard, but he was not that good' George Foreman with a smarter game plan probably would have won the rumble in the Jungle. George Foreman 81 fights, 5 losses. Ali 61 - 5
Adebay0r 3 years ago
Jack Johnson was the best of his era, and the first black heawyweight ever. He had a very special and good style due to the poor quality of boxing at that time. Sonny Liston would have beat George Foreman. When George fought Ali he had very bad tactic and skill, that's why I say he is not that good. Liston had arguably the best jab ever and he was almost unstoppable at his best. Considered the fact that Liston had a bad childhood and he did not have a good trainer like everybody else.
Scarzet 3 years ago
@Scarzet
Muhammad Ali is not only the greatest athlete in the world, but he was self-conscious because when Jack Johnson was making a fool of himself with those white girls, Ali stated that in the South were he came from Louisville, Kentucky, if an African was caught with a European then he would be lynched.
Muhammad Ali was the best and always will be.
peasah2005 1 year ago
Now i'm not saying George Foreman is a better boxer then Ali. All i'm saying is that you know very little about boxing.

3.Willie Pep

Well, he is still the most recognized man on the planet and the most loved, because all the great minds have now recognized all his accomplishments around the world, and I don't mean just in the ring. Turned his back on his race? No, he didn't turn his back on any race, He did, and still does, walked amongst all races, and religions. Coward? No, the cowards ran away to other countries, He fought legally, in the courts, and won.
