@bsred733 I have had so much fun doing this one, it will feel a little bit anti-climactic to be completely done. I would be interested in doing it again if enough people show interest. I was also thinking about doing the next one making a friction folder, or a slip joint folder. Thoughts?
@SugarcreekForge That sounds great, I don't think you'll have any trouble finding participants. I think a friction folder build along would be great, I'm planning on starting one this week, but I'll be using some crappy stainless from a cheap machete. What is the cost to participate? I realize this one is nearly done but it will give me an idea of whether I can participate if there is another build along.
@bsred733 This one is almost over and also closed to new "official members", but many of our friends are building along with us. I got a lot of sponsorships and the fee to do this one was only $10. Also, some of the members contributed a little bit extra out of the goodness of their own hearts.
@BillGoudy lol - I think it is the impressive beard that did it Bill. Remind your wife that Samantha is purely supporting the build and lives far away in Canada!
Aaah! This is so great! I was wondering where I'd get leather and how much it'd cost! It'll be cool to see what a leather supplier and a knifemaker pick out! Thanks so much for working this out! Now my knife won't have to sit naked on my desk once it's made....
@mysss29 I am really happy about this too. I think that everyone will have a complete circle of of skills to make their own simple knives when we are done. And, no naked knives!
so so awesome cant wait if u agree thumb up we should have a monthly build were every month we vote and pick one knife design to make together and post the pictures, only thing u can change is the handle material. i would love to do this once a month and have some one else design the knife and make it fun.
I know this is really premature (haha) but I'm just curious, is it possible to heat treat these blades at home for the average joe without an oven made for the purpose? (or outdoor firepit or some such thing?) I'm going to be really interested to see what you have worked up along those lines.
@ShawDAMAN Yes - My goal for this whole build is to show how to make a knife at home with a minimal amount of tools and expense. So I will show 2 or 3 ways to heat treat for average joes and then a couple of other options. I think you will like it.
@SugarcreekForge Sounds great. Thanks. I've done as much filing as I dare for now (went with a convex grind, maybe I can convince my friends its a Fallkniven) so was just half asleep and looking down the knife-making road a ways, lol. Hope your trip is going (or went) well. 'Til next time
wow Tim, you got the hook up from eeevverywhere!! your like a brothers cousins sisters gangsta friend who you go to when ya gots ta get some knife fixin ;) lol I was wondering what was gonna happen to all these sheathless knives, but you pulled another one outa your hat and got that taken care of too, Riight on, I gotta be sure to make a video for all these wonderful sponsors and thank em all, and you thank you again for puttin this together ,, wooorrd B-) peace
@BROUSBLADES It is what I do for a living. I am an Executive Business Coach. Businesses hire me to help them do things better, faster, cheaper, and make more profit. Entrepreneurs hire me to help them start a business. I am helping the executive I mentioned to develop into a better business leader and be promoted.
WOO HOO, SCORE, what a deal. tim you are the man!!!
THANK YOU MR WEAVER, YOU ROCK!!!
hey tim, next time you fly, you can send a package of files overnight the day before you are to arrive and then when you get finished with your business then you could have some tools to work off some of the stress of the day...LOL
Disappointing Tim, i can't believe you travelled without any files! I really do think your videos need to be vetted before uploading, maybe you should give me Samantha's details. . . !
@knoxi82 I know, buddy, TSA frowns on long steel objects in your luggage. I can't figure out why. And, you are being your same old selfless style by offering to vet my vids. If Samantha shows up again, I will let her know that you are in charge.
@SugarcreekForge Tim, do not mention it at all, i know it will be a hard and arduous task, but i am willing to humbly accept it, for the sake of some of the knife builders dicky hearts! Oh and let me assure you, when Sam (she lets me call her that) shows up, i will most definitely let her be in charge ;)
@SugarcreekForge I have been building along as well I will try to make a video on it soon, I ordered a bar of 154cm which I am finding out to be quite tough stuff.
Wow Tim did you ever dream your little 4 person build along would go this huge?? Way to go on the new sponsor to take the build along from epic to something people will be talking about for decades to come. Its so good to see it fly like this :)
@OriginalOwner777 Thanks, OO777, you are right! I never dreamed that we would have this level of great participants and sponsorship. It has been so much fun and that makes all the effort easy and worth it. Thanks for your encouragement and support.
How cool of weaver leather to sponsor, all I can say is Wow! Now Tim, you have got to have some if the most interesting international subscribers I have ever seen, but I'm not complaining if you know what I mean ;-)
@Jokercbg I am especially thankful to Chris and Weaver Leather, because they do not sell retail directly but sell to businesses and dealers. So their return is not from us calling them and buying leather from them. So, it is truly generous for them to back us.
lol - those international shout-outs are pretty interesting. And, there are more to come.

@Darkmonkey73 Thanks for your encouragement, buddy. I want you to know that I am totally impressed by those 40+ people building along too. Many of our team members sent extra money, Corey made a website and has done a huge amount of work making our website and FB page, and the amount of encouraging and supportive comments people are leaving for each other is truly cool. So... thank you too.
Tim, I am gonna put you in charge of all my projects from now on, from sheaths to playmates, this is great. Thanks for including me, I am having a ball. Be sure to thank the nice folks at Weaver for us.
@knivesandstuff Thanks, Kyley. Your support is much appreciated. I am really thankful that it is pulling together especially since I am in such a busy season right now.

It looks like everyone is having some great fun with this! I am working on a couple of videos for all you builders when you get to the handle making blade finishing portion of the build. Things I have found to make it easier and super cheap tools that you can make or get the parts to for almost no money,
@Nebulax123 Bruce - that is very much appreciated. You have a clear style of communication and lots of experience. I am looking forward to having those videos as a resource.
Wow! Sheath action. That is awesome. Thanks for the tips. I started with a full flat grind but after a few turns on each side, I went with the scandi. Thanks again Tim for all you are doing.
