Seeing these visions has a psychological effect on any human being (a white devil, not so much). I remember growing up watching Roots, athough it was hard to look at, that was just a glimpse of what slavery really was. theres this doll test where they take little black girls and give them the choice between a white doll and a black one. they pick the white one because it's "good" and "sweet". yet they acknowledge they resemble the black one more. you can't say those little girls brought that skewed image of african americans onto themselves. Racism is supported by both black and white people, and I think it's kind of racist to put all the blame on one race and say another had nothing to do with it.

As a response, you can't blame the psycholgical corruption of blacks today on what whites back then did. There's no doubt that it messed our ancestors up, but what our people are doing now is more reprehensible. We don't have to worry what the white man is doing to us because we're doing it to ourselves. We have our own minds and can make decisions for ourselves, so shouldn't look any further than the mirror for the the breakdown in the black society.

yes, slavery didn't begin with the white man. But, "slavery" wasn't just what the white man did. What the white man did which is worst than slavery is psycholgical corruption to those slaves which in turn still effects blacks to this day. Another of the white mans flaws is selective morals where he preaches chrisian beliefs, which inevtably helps to abolish slavery, yet it took 400 years.

I say all of this because after reading the comments that were posted, what is most prevalent is the fact that the grammar and spelling was atrocious. Now for a little history lesson for the uninformed. Slavery was not started by Whites, it has been around since the beginning of man, in fact it was our own people that first traded and sold us into slavery, so the next time you want to blame someone, step back, look into a mirror and then take a look at yourself.

The main thing it does is parallel whats going on with videos today, sad to say mainly rap/ hiphop...the difference is, these women had no choice...they were sold against there will, put on a platform for all to see... being bid on for the highest dollar amount to never prosper from it. Oscar Brown Jr.'s poem was meant for all to be eduacated about the cruelties of slavery, and for the most part, the degrdation of Black Women. But, why use this poem as a way of attacking Black Women in saying that 'they have totally forgotten what slavery was all about?' I'm glad rmaura chose to post this video, because it was very informative. But, that was the only thing that I felt should not have been included in the vid.
