  • CptBlkAmerica is a troll.

  • wasnt this on tv at one point, like in 2003 or something??

  • i am matana

  • For a such a noble person as you prop yourself up as and a "trained" psychologist you seem to have a dislike for caucasians , whats up with that doc?

  • Yeah well scientific advances and good old fashioned adoptions negate your argument there but you would probally complain that they would by default be bad parents or some nonsense your "God" gave us all individual thoughts and will, and if he loves the people he made then he shouldnt have any issue with them loving each other and not all homosexuals are men there are lesibians out there you know and if i had to choose between the two id have to watch have sex im picking lesbians haha hahahahha

  • I was born in the 30s, in the mid South. was blessed to have gone to School, and learned, enough to make sure my kids had a good education, they did too....

As mr. Brown says in the work song, we still have a long way to go. Thank GOD we have come a long way scince auction off our people I know when i look in the mirror i resepent, the STRENGHT of my anscestors, because I am here...

  • yo read the gay argument this is deep captnewamerica is saying alot and it is so ture it must be this way in the end but it doesnt mean we have to like it

  • so much truth behind this especially the part when the auctioneer say her grandmother was a "dahomey queen" and she was black like Sheba in the bible.

It's sad that we black people were KINGS, QUEENS, and men & women of NOBiLiTY to now be stereotyped as CRACKHEADS, GANG BANGERS, HOES, & A LOW FORM LIFE.

were not slaves physically but we are still slaves in the mind. WE GOTS TA DO BETTER !

  • Damn... this is deep

  • HaHA! LOL! My mom use to play this to me as a child when I couldn't go to sleep. Just listening to it brings back memories.

  • Sadly this is stark and trutful

  • Thanks

  • cuts like a knife the raw uncut true art

  • OMG

  • good video. packs a punch. i like it. need more like it.

  • CLASSIC

  • black women have totally forgotten what slavery was all about

  • the whieman has not payed for this yet. PAYBACK IS A BITCH

  • Like the holocaust, in a few years (especially if the white folks in Texas have their way) they will be denying that slavery ever happened. All of the pictures of slaves on the plantations and all of the photos with black people lynched, burned, and mutilitated by so-called civilized people (an they love to call us animals) will be considered fabricated evidence.

  • Powerful

  • Awesome

  • I thank God that we are now bringing this kind of "peace", "liberty", and "freedom" to the Iraqis and Afghans. WAKE UP AMERICA!

  • :'(

  • Look at Africa....

  • so powerful, makes my soul weep

  • Brings tears to your eyes and heart.

There was slavery in ancient Rome, Arab slavery in East Africa, enlsavement of the Slavs in Russia, from whose name the term comes, and probably forms of slavery in many other places.

But I doubt if any of them were as systematically dehumanising and brutal as the Atlantic Slave Trade.

  • Great poem...It sent shivers up my spine...Oscar Brown JR was an amazing man...I must learn more about his other works.

  • Thank God, and the strength within us that things are no longer this way.

    Peace, Freedom

  • As I ventured into the courtyard followed by 52 brothas bruised, battered and scarred but hard.

Goin out wit a bang ready to bang out. But power from the sky and from the tower shots rang out. ..... This is what I mean an anti ni66a machine. if I come out alive then they won't come clean.

Then I threw up, my steel bullets flew upand to my surprise the wall and tower blew up.

Who shot? What? Who? What? The Bazooka was who? And to my rescue it was the S1W.

    PE#1

  • Seeing these visions has a psychological effect on any human being (a white devil, not so much). I remember growing up watching Roots, athough it was hard to look at, that was just a glimpse of what slavery really was. The brutal truth would be 2 hard to take, and leave a deep wound in any person of color. Just imagine how sick many whites are now, with the pedifilia, perversion, serial killing, and homo-sexuality, and times that by ten.

  • Some of these idiots hop out of windows over losing money in the stock market. Over money! Take it from me, this place experiences a depression every time they lose free or cheap labor. After slavery, After the end of share cropping, after the demise of Apartheid, after outsourcing the cheap labor once done by US, then the Mexicans, and then outsourced overseas. This place has never stood on its own merits. Taken over by force and germ warfare. Forced slavery even when claiming independence. Ha!

  • I almost forgot something. The same mongrels who will diss our struggles and take the time to protest a fur trader while wearing diamond rings. The extreme hypocrisy is that more children died to get that diamond than weasels or ermines or sables were killed to make a coat. My point is that as long as Africans are being killed, it is acceptable. What would be the response if the diamond murders had occurred in Europe or America?" Outrage. They value dogs over humans. So f*ck all who h8 Africans!

  • @CptBlkAmerica You know what always tripped me out about Roots...They said everybody who was anybody at that time was in that. That's deep, your so-called heroes all in chains. You think children remember what skin their in after that (or before if their "lucky")

  • @CptBlkAmerica Homosexuality is as bad as pedophilia, perversion, and serial killing? Meaning it's a sin? Is that what you're trying to convey?

  • @YourFaceWillDie468 Yes, I believe homosexuality is a sin. Very much so, but interestingly enough, I had an argument with my college professor a few weeks ago. The most significant point she was trying to make was, in Ancient Rome, the love between 2 men was seen as the highest form of love..LOL. From my recollection, Ancient Rome was one of the most sexually depraved societies in the history of mankind. And the point she was trying to make, actually proved mine,

  • @CaptNewAmerica How is homosexuality a sin? Just like heterosexuality, you can't control it; you can't stop being gay or keep yourself from being gay; unlike rape, murder, and otherwise perverse actions, it doesn't harm anyone (unless it's someone raping or harassing a member of his/her own gender). It's just sexual attraction, only within the same gender as opposed to different ones. I just wonder why people seemingly can't understand that.

  • @YourFaceWillDie468 Homosexuality doesnt harm anyone? Try to start a civilization with all homosexual men... See how far you get... It goes against all rules of nature. No way do I think or believe you are born homosexual. No to goet too religious abou tit, but the "word" says God created us in his image. Are you calling God a homosexual? Furthermore, it is society or environment that creates the homosexual, not God or biology. It is the sick perversions of the European white man.

  • @CaptNewAmerica Hopefully, no one is literally born with a decided sexual orientation. "...God created us in his image. Are you calling God a homosexual?" you said. By your logic, we're all omnipotent just like him because he created us in his image. And so what if God is a homosexual? The Bible has never directly stated he was heterosexual. Does he have a sexuality at all? I have no idea, but I'm guessing not, for reasons of my own. I'll continue.

  • @YourFaceWillDie468 We are omnipotent... over ourselves, whereas God is all powerful over all things. On the flipside, the Devil is busy at work, convincing us that the degradation of our body, minds and spirit is "ok". You are born this way, he tells you. He doesnt tell you that the sinful world in which we live in created your sad tale. I work in Human Services. Is it a coincidence that most of the youth I work with who classify themselves as gay were molested? I think not.

  • @CaptNewAmerica Therefore, homosexuality is not a sin, but merely self-destructive. Or rather, giving way to destruction of yourself by other people. Why does that happen? I think it's because so many people are homophobic, or just like to amuse themselves at the expense of gays. If you ask me, that should explain everything. If I could be told exactly what is immoral about homosexuality...well, I'd like to see you try. But please...hesitate to do so. I'm almost bored with this polemic.

  • @YourFaceWillDie468 Immoral...ahh lets see. At its most extreme, it could lead to the death of all civilization, because homosexuals cannot procreate, the very act of men having sex, involves another man inserting his penis in the canal which transports waste from the body...need I say more?..At its least extreme, homosexuality teaches a boy to take on the characteristics of a women, which totaly destroys the natural family unit. Man, women, child. It is the Devils work= Soddom and Gamora

  • @CaptNewAmerica Homosexuals can procreate by means of artificial insemination. Your point on anal intercourse is somewhat laughable, considering vaginal intercourse does essentially the same thing. Don't bother telling me, "No, this part of the body is where waste comes from; you've got it all wrong!" As for homosexuality teaching a boy to take on the characteristics of a woman---utterly humiliating. How could someone sincerely be that ignorant that such a thing is a cruel and untrue STEREOTYPE?

  • @YourFaceWillDie468 Biology 101: The vagina has several different openings, where urine comes from is called the urethra, whereas the vaginal opening is used for intercourse. God Makes no mistakes. However, the anal passage is strictly used for the excretion of feces, nothing more. It is the most foul odor our body can produce. Do you think God intended for this to be the place where we join in love and celebration of one another? No. the smell is a reminder to gays of their filthy sin.

  • @CaptNewAmerica This is ludicrous. What about all the smelly STDs that can come from heterosexual intercourse? I'm off.

  • @YourFaceWillDie468 Be off. But Im not done. Now you're comparing (Im assuming) your prefered method of sex to "smelly STDs"? Cmon. You're a product of the times. I feel the sorry's for us all. The planet doesnt seem to have enough real estate to accomodate us all.

  • @CaptNewAmerica Not my preferred method of sex. I am heterosexual. How does knowing the symptoms of STDs make me "a product of the times?" What the hell is the entire thing about real estate? If I'm not satisfied with your answer, I promise you and myself I will pursue more worthwhile things.

  • @CaptNewAmerica You sir are an idiot and a homophobe who uses the most hipocritica of all things, religion to justify it, lol your arguments fail hard and are full of nonsense. There are currently 6.97 billion people we arent dying out and homosexuality is universal not just white Europeans yoou can go back to checking under your bed for the boggieman lol.

  • @ZeroDarkOmega, I dont follow religion, because it was created and interpreted by man. I follow my spirit, because no man can interfere with my spirituality, that is a personal relationship between me and God. Now, regarding your homosexuals. Yes, there are many homosexuals in the world, the exact number I don't now. But on a spiritual level, it still feels wicked and corrupt. I wonder, if God had a face what his expression would be if he saw 2 men having sex? Most likely he'd b devastated

  • @ZeroDarkOmega I believe God created man in his image, so that we can aspire to be God-like. And to be God-like is to have the power to create life. Homosexuality grants you no such power. Just look at what homosexual pedophiles have done to the catholic church. In recent history, the European white man has been able to spread his filth throughout the world without impunity, nothing is sacred, not even their own places of worship. At some point, this tragic tale has to end.

  • @CaptNewAmerica If you belive in a magic sky daddy then be my guest but using your misguided "spiritual moral compass" to deny other people their right to love each other is wrong, the catholic church was always currupt because of money and power i noticed you lumped homosexuals(people atracted to the same sex) and pedophiles(people who have sexual relations with children) into the same catagory -_- , you belive homosexuals to be wrong simply because they cant as a couple make babies -

  • @ZeroDarkOmega "Magic Sky Daddy" priceless. As a trained psychologist, I always find It interesting to get into the minds of the morally bankrupt. To hear or read the things they say to justify their actions sharpens my ability to teach. No, my God doesnt exist in the sky, my god is all around us, he is in me, and however hidden he may be, he is in you too. The problem is, you are too involved with self-indulgence to feel his presence. I find this to be the case in most Caucasians.

  • @ZeroDarkOme Not sure if you are white or not, but yes, in my mind, I lump pedophilia in with homosexuality because they are both perversions, or in other words, unnatural. Anything unnatural is a perversion. Do you see male dogs humping each other in epic proportions? No, it is human beings selfish nature to self-indulge without limitations that has this world in such chaotic state. Why do you think there is no peaceful place on this planet? It is people like you justifying sin, and cursing God

  • @ZeroDarkOmega Furthermore, I also lump the two together because as I stated in a previous post, more often than not, when I work with young homosexual boys, the root of the problem began when some weak-minded adult chose to take out his homosexual/child fantasies out on them, thus corrupting the child for life. Causing his natural equilibrium to be unbalanced, and as a result the child has no true sexual identity. Its almost like a crack baby growing up to be a crack addict.

  • @CaptNewAmerica so now your saying homosexuals are the result of pedophiles-_- acording to your logic rapists are the result of watching too much porn, teen murders are the result of "Violent videogames", and mad scientists are the result of reading too many books lol im impressed truly

  • @ZeroDarkOmega Lol. This is not something Im just pulling out my ass, no pun intended. I live what I preach on a daily basis. I could spend all night connecting the dots for you. But that would take too much time and your mind is not ready to learn. Wisdom is a blessing... Besides, Im up to $85 an hour.

  • @CaptNewAmerica It would have been a chalenge to debate you if you werent pulling it out of your ass, you base your arguments on your "logic" and "spritual relation ship with god" lol morally bankrupt trust me im no more likely to torture the shit of a puppy than you are because a guy in a lab coat said to and thats an 80% and as much as i love to curse "god" and justify "sin" and 1. male dogs have humped each other and i laughed my ass off 2. the universe is naturally chaotic lol.

  • @CaptNewAmerica bless true talk

  • @CaptNewAmerica This is continued from another post I made to your last comment, in case you were wondering. Anyways, no one ever said you had to start a civilization with all homosexual men. The difference between homosexuals and rapists, murderers, pedophiles, and such is that if you have even ONE rapist, murderer, or pedophile in your town, disaster will ensue. That's not the case with homosexuals. To even begin to compare a sexual orientation with HURTING people massively is ridiculous.

  • i am from hungary and i dont understand. what is bid'em in? have somebody got a lyrics for a song?

  • This song comes from a deceased civil rights pioneer by the name of Oscar Brown Jr. The song is just an illustration of the cruelties of slavery. Many folks say "get over it". I say we must acknowledge it and the ongoing pain it still causes. Jim Crow laws and lynchings and rape and a defunct and corrupt justice system are all offshoots of slavery and fomented by conservative right wingers.

  • It's unbelievable how some white's can even speak the phrase, "Get over it." The conscience black man will never forget. And they say becaue we hold on to the past, that this impedes our progress, we use the "race card", whatever that is. I say, if more young brother and sisters were aware of their past, and conscience of the damaging effects it has had on their present, we wouldn't have half the problems we do as a people. And we most certainly would be more unified.

  • What the4 poorly educated and the bigots fail to realize is that when they stole our ancestors and robbed of of our knowledge of self, they started a new era of history for us. While they can claim to be irish or german or what the f*ck ever, we cannot trace our lineage. Compound that with the atrocities commited against us, in case they forgot: Jim Crow, Slavery Lynchings, Police brutality....the list goes on. We must NEVER forget or forgive! We must unite. Look how these fools abase our roots!

  • @himmaggin I agree with you one hundred percent percent bro, but what do we do now? We are gaining this new level of consciousness, but how do we get it to the youth?

  • @CaptNewAmerica We talk to them.

  • @magasban369 dont worry you will soon learn first hand

  • Sean Hannity, Glen Beck, Rush Limbaugh, Strom Thurmond, Ronald Reagan, Newt Gingrich and a host of other high strung conservatives should be subjected to such treatment. Maybe then they would shut their traps!

  • So, what i'm hearing from you is "because I disagree with someone, I think they should be denied their freedom and subjected to horrible treatment."

Welcome to America, we don't do that shit here.

  • America. The land of slavery, genocide of the Native peoples, Use of germ warfare on those same people, the chronic openers and operators of concentration camps, land of the Jim Crow laws, invaders of sovereigns, and last but not least, your stupidity. Go eat one up you homosexual.

You act like this country has no blood on its hands. Don't get all self righteous on me because you hate what I had to say. The truth hurts. A hit dog will hollar, and you are yelling like a freshly kicked puppy.

  • wtf!!!!

  • Oh yeah the first 2 comments were for IheartLatinoMen and Collegeball 19. I just wanted you both to know how big a pair of sorry excuses for black people you both are.

  • Seriously all black people we must never forget our roots and where we came from. It is our history, it is our legacy it is us.

  • Watching this could, if one isn't careful, cause one to HATE ALL WHITE PEOPLE.

  • And please read the 13th amendment which proves slavery was never abolished. Which is why most of us do blame our oppressors for our conditions today. So for those holier than thou siblings of ours, please get real education because a degree does not change a fool it only disguises on. Peace and Blessings.

  • Section 1. Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime where of the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction.

Section 2. Congress shall have the power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation.

  • @mridgaf17 "...except as punishment for a crime...[~duly convicted~]" Yeah, try telling a leased convict, or somebody on a chain gang ask your granddad about Joe Turner (Turney) see if the "black codes" had a black man, woman, or child "duly" convicted...And has the curse of slavery truly been lifted. The answer is no and like snow wool has fallen over your eyes. Though if you finally ever see you won't be surprised.

  • Can we all STUDY great lessons to be learned for our own personal black Experiences. Lets not disregard each others truth and learn more about our history and ourselves. Listen to all of Dr. Kings speeches as well as Malcolm X's and others whether we like them or not ie; Marcus Garvey, W.E.B. BeBoise. I also suggest we read The Mis-Education of the Negro, They came before Columbus, Christopher Columbus and the African Holocaust. Never blame the victim for being victimized blame the aggressor.

  • well i do agree with some of yall put6 of view but others i really dont undestand.I know we cant blam whites for some of the things that happen to us but we cant disgurded nether.what happen to us back then was horrible in to be honest the base of or currupt society today.

  • the woman that was lynched in the beginning was lynched for trying to save her son from the same fate

  • you people should read more before you post something half yall talking out ur ass

  • i was wondering who said this poem. everytime i saw this on BET, i would stop everything i was doing just to listen. thank you for who posted this.

  • This poem only brings to light, what a hidious crime slavery was.... sorry...I meant STILL IS. Women of every race are held against their will and forced into prostitution and servitude... STILL TODAY.

  • this is interesting but most blacks in america feel no ties to this, they would rather listen to rap music and call them selves nigga, which I think is stupid, I'm african-american myself but ghetto black people make me ashamed to say so

  • That's the truth. No matter what the facts are, most black people call themselves the N word but what they don't get is that they're destroying themselves because the word actually means "defected" no matter how good they try to make it sound. I'm not ashamed to be black but I'm ashamed for those black people who make black people look bad.

  • your an uncle tom you need to educate ur self on ur people

  • the fact that you are calling this person a name that is derogatory to Black people contradicts your point and just supports theirs....nice job.

  • what point was i making

    u must b an assimilated

    black as well

  • Well, if you make statements without an intended point or a point that not even you know of.....there's really no use in me arguing with you. Thanks for the clarification.(btw: may i point out that once again you resorted to name-calling. its really a nasty habit that you should break if you ever expect to engage in any intelligent conversation)

  • u being an assimilated

black how is that name calling

do u know what it means

thanks for looking for something that wasnt there

  • Thank god there is just one person who isn't a complete dumbshit.

  • thats bull shit all black people feel emotional and spiritual relation between them and their ancestors. And the fact that as a fellow african american you would just generalize and condemn your race as stupid and ignorant is disgusting. I mean I live in a white dominant suburb and yes some "ghetto black people" are stupid and disgrace their race. But not all in fact out of all black people they are by far the most spiritual and loyal to their friends. So shut your mouth you scumbucket bitch

  • thats bull shit all black people feel emotional and spiritual relation between them and their ancestors. • Killer dialog. Don't let up. We all need to talk. And listen.

  • theres this doll test where they take little black girls and give them the choice between a white doll and a black one. they pick the white one because it's "good" and "sweet". yet they acknowledge they resemble the black one more. you can't say those little girls brought that skewed image of african americans onto themselves. Racism is supported by both black and white people, and I think it's kind of racist to put all the blame on one race and say another had nothing to do with it.

  • i've seen that doll test

i was clear on what i thought whites were responsible for, i didnt blame them for EVERYTHING

i said "i will never blame africans FOR US BEING HERE"

and i said slavery CONTRIBUTED to how we view ourselves

but i saw the doll test on nyoil's video, he's a conscious rapper

  • and for clarity, let me just say i agree you cant blame it on slavery itself, but the effects - racism.

personally i think the system works against blacks.

  • consider Mary Waters' research:

While first-generation West Indian immigrants often espouse a philosophy of hard work and self-reliance, their children tend to feel stymied by racism and discrimination... as members of societies where [blacks] are the majority, they do not encounter the sort of direct, often brutal interpersonal racism that is still prevalent in this society.

  • continued

West Indians who come with absolutely the best kind of ideology and the best hopes, in one generation find those hopes dashed."

  • To youngweasal21 and all others who share this sentiment that we act the way the we do because of what the Whites did to our ancestors is BULLSHIT! BULLSHIT! BULLSHIT! We are ultimately responsible for our own actions. If you are going to go on the above mentioned assumption, then why the hell do you call yourself African Americans, because if it wasn't for our African ancestors, we wouldn't even be here in America in the first place, so why not hate them.

  • i'm not saying that we should blame our screw ups on slavery and its effects, but i know that it definitely CONTRIBUTED (to whatever extent that may be )to how blacks view themseleves and how others view blacks

and i will never blame africans for us being here <- THAT is where i disagree with you

WHITES turned slavery into a money making business

WHITES wanted to bring us here

you're so fixed on "africans sold africans" you dont see the whole picture but w/e

  • You can't and won't because it's completely assinine. Our people need to stop blaming others for our FUCKUPS and be more responsible and better role-models to our youths. If you hold on to the past like that, you will never be able to move into the future.

  • techincally its not our fault that we are like this but u ar right about the decisions we make but sence we were psycholgically corrupted but our decisions we make today are still based on our hatred no matter what u say hatred will always get the best of us cuz think about it what they did back then is no right they did the worst version but i kno there were others too but not as bad as this so basically our decisions TODAY are based on our hatred to them

  • As a response, you can't blame the psycholgical corruption of blacks today on what whites back then did. There's no doubt that it messed our ancestors up, but what our people are doing now is more reprehensible. We don't have to worry what the white man is doing to us because we're doing it to ourselves. We have our own minds and can make decisions for ourselves, so shouldn't look any further than the mirror for the the breakdown in the black society.

  • yes, slavery didn't begin with the white man. But, "slavery" wasn't just what the white man did. What the white man did which is worst than slavery is psycholgical corruption to those slaves which in turn still effects blacks to this day. Another of the white mans flaws is selective morals where he preaches chrisian beliefs, which inevtably helps to abolish slavery, yet it took 400 years.

  • "winslow"

    i couldnt agree more

  • Not slavery, was mental, physiological, and spiritual genocide. Far from the type of chattel "slavery" in west africa.

  • I say all of this because after reading the comments that were posted, what is most prevalent is the fact that the grammar and spelling was atrocious. Now for a little history lesson for the uninformed. Slavery was not started by Whites, it has been around since the beginning of man, in fact it was our own people that first traded and sold us into slavery, so the next time you want to blame someone, step back, look into a mirror and then take a look at yourself.

  • i hardly think that blacks came up with the idea to go to america to pick cotton and be whipped and

degraded. and the whites did more harm than just slavery

africans sold other africans into slavery, but it was to repay debt,i dont think it was as harsh, or the consequences were as severe as the white man enslaving us

and just in case you didnt know, you can get your point across without being condescending - it's all part of maturity

  • First, I would like to say that the author of this piece of literature is a brilliant genius, and should be nominated for the Noble Prize in Literature. Next, to morrispridgen, there is no need for you to be ashamed; you didn't do anything to anyone. Just keep your head up man. Now, for all of you brainiacs out there, take your heads out of the video games and rap videos and stick them in more books.

  • man...i'm too proud to be blk...thank you my ancesters for standing up and saying that we are people too and for going through all of that bullshit...bless each and everyone of yall

  • This video is profound. The main thing it does is parallel whats going on with videos today, sad to say mainly rap/ hiphop...the difference is, these women had no choice...they were sold against there will, put on a platform for all to see... being bid on for the highest dollar amount to never prosper from it. Video chicks choose to get up on that platform for the lowest dollar amount and they still dont prosper. (5 minutes of fame or lousey book deal) please.

  • what's the problem? THe poem is about history? No need for anyone to get their nose hair yanked over it. Has nothing to do with Imus (oh please, he is NOT that important). "If a white man had said this...". Well, excuse me, but people of all races write about trials and sufferings.

  • If this aint the most ass backward shit... ya know if a old white guy would have wrote this it would be considered racist. the "buzz" around this is about as bad as people being pissed at don imus.

  • this makes u hate white ppl cuz they the main reason y slavery is here if they never was to damn lazy to do their own damn work this would of never happend cuz they brought us from africa to do they damn crop work and im mad at ppl who still up hold this kind of behavior who ever does should be ashamed this is y i wish murder wasent a crime cuz if it wasent i would chop up every person who uphold this but that would make me as worse as them *sigh* karma is heavy

  • Nothing can force you to hate if hate is not in you.

  • o this aint hate this was i was stating that karma will happend soon enough and im just waiting for that point no offence but i get what u saying u cant hate on anything if u was not actually there but u dont have to be there to feel their pain

  • ok, I see. you are right YW, we each have to answer for what we do.

    peace

    diane

  • Even a dog will hate you if you treat it bad enuff. So that's not true.

  • Dis Shiit Aint Funny Yaw bitchez Jus Bn Ignat.N Dis Don Make M3 Furious At whit3 ppl.Cuz Mah Untie iis,n I luv ha 2 def.But Da idea of wat day did bak n da day Makes m3 really wanna click on erri single 1 uv em.

  • LOL!!! I have NOTHING to prove to you! Get a life loser!!! LOL

  • There isn't much East of Ethiopia. I am sure civilization did not begin in the Indian Ocean. Otherwise we would have fins and gills.

We are a majestic people. Never forget that. Every cockroach who hates us has his and her roots in the motherland. Not from cavemen.

  • mesopotamia, babylonia, sumer ,assyrians look it up and study before you reply you dont want to look like an ass

  • You might try going North to reach those places. As you must obviously be of the same descent as I, it is unnecessary to bicker over minor issues. The point is that we must never forget. I apologize for the offense. No ifs ands or buts.

I am well versed in many aspects of our history fam. Share and share alike. Just like the playground. But since this is a battlefield, maybe we can share strategies on how to move our peeps forward. Let this video be a site for discourse and not discord. Peace

  • BRILLIANT and well said!!!!!!! I, like a lunatic, had been going back and forth one year ago and engaged in the ignorance meant to ensnare me-but am glad that I came across your comment 9 months later. Kudos to you for you being articulate and remaining composed. Need more like you-God Bless.

  • Ever had a fight with someone only to not only find out that you were both making the same point but using different words and then become really good friends? Picking fights is simplicity. Avoiding them is tricky. Turning them into something positive is a worthy goal for which I advise all to aspire to when it comes to the brothers and sisters. Peace familyfamily

  • NICE!! I agree; in fact-in the wake of what we see here-if we can, with integrity, find a way to rise above the torment and adversity experienced by our ancestors, we may learn something while making them proud. God Bless.

  • Our ancestors are a direct link to the creator(s). Our mothers and fathers grandparents must be rolling around in their graves right now with the terrible mess in which we find ourselves. it's shameful because we can control our destiny if we unite.

They say those who fail to learn from the past are doomed to repeat. Bull crap! Those who do not APPLY the lessons of the past WILL repeat it. Look at the penal system A repeat of history is upon us.

  • You know that Oscar brown,jr has a bunch of music. He was hated by the establishment due to his militant music and lifestyle. His song "Tall Like Pine" is my favorite. he speaks of an Indian chief who was..."Talllll like piiiine. Black like coooooal. Talk more jiiiiive than a radio! Big Indian Chief....."

That was real music. I grew up on this. ALong with Dinah Washington, Miles Davis, Sarah Vaughn, Billy Holiday, Etta James, Ella Fitzgerald and the list goes on.

    peace family

  • @himmaggin You're old, but then again so am I. We grew up when music was a learning tool. Too bad the talent isn't of this caliber any longer.

  • @kdakuginow No doubt family. Music of 2day is an exercise in anger, disrespect and materialism and is all centered around violence. The disdain for the sisters is legendary. The lack of conscious awareness of the struggles of peoples is lost. So I stay in the past where music is concerned and live in the present where I am always a step behind the future.

  • @himmaggin Ethiopia belongs to Cushites so do the whole region of East Africa but Semites took it...My great grand fathers were already civilized, and i am sure they have influenced all sorts of civilizations... A Lot of Africans in the Americas barely know about Cushites, the indigenous Africans of East Africa. The king and Queens of Ancient Egypt, all these people were Africans but no one gives them credit. Today you African-American refer to them as Ethiopian and they are NOT Ethiopians!

  • I am aware of much of what you speak. However, it is an error to say that we as the stolen and abused Africans do not respect your history. Amybe you could enlighten me on more of the Cushite history.

I am aware that the ancient Ehyptians were not arabs because the faces of many artifacts dug up by the grave robbers were black.

I got love for you no matter what name you go by. History cannot change that.

    Peace family

  • @himmaggin Cushites are the ancient Egyptians/ the indigenous people of East Africa...Ethiopians and present day Egyptians are Semites they are related to the Middle Eastern people like the Jews and Arabs...Cushites also known as Kush were pastoralists they moved from one place to another and when they started warring with the Semites they moved their Kingdom to the horn Africa present day South Sudan, Somalia, Djibouti...then these people were divided by European colonialist

  • If u thnk this is funny you probably thought the Holocaust was hillarious-huh dickhead? Its so sad that there are people like you in the wrld. Woe to any child that has to have you as a parent. I hope the same thing thats hppned to poor innocent africans hppens to your MOM and someone laughs in the face of HER distress! BASTARD! I feel sorry for your life...

  • the holocaust was a lie continue to believe and feed their racist war machine a futher division in what americans could be and ur hypocritical

  • Get a life, get off the computer and go to a library or something, read a book, etc. Your waaaayyyy to bored. Is that all you do, you know, sit around reading year old comments and look to bicker about things that have nothing to do with the topic??? LOSER!!! I can tell you have HATE in your heart. SOOO SAD, that people who think they have it all figured out are really the MOST simple-minded. You think your sooo wise, but your really a fool. You need to be taught.

  • thanks for prooving my point

  • this is so hard to look at, it makes you cry. but it also makes you wonder why you'll never see anything like this on a channel that isn't specifically targeting black people. on a "white channel" this wouldn't be seen. When white people are the ones who caused it and need to remember it.

  • In all honesty my first response to this as a black man was simply "I destest white people" but looking at it in retropspect I now see my anger has been misplaced, and my real attention should be fixated on resolving the societal issues afflicting Afo-Americans today.

  • thank you for this

  • NO Im not saying all of us as a whole have forgotten, but there is some truth in that statement. Some of us think that because we can sit anywhere on the bus and go into resturants that the struggle is over. We can do those things because we spend green money! Our history cannot all be learned in one month out of a year but should be an everyday learning experience. How can you move forward if you dont know where you came from??

  • Love this peom.

Those of you who are generalizing Black women please stop. Just like you don't take what one white woman or man does to speak for the state of white people, don't do it for Black.

Contrary to popular belief, they are more of us doing good than bad. Don't let media & tv fool you

  • Im a White Man......and im ashamed!

  • Morr, why be ashamed of historical facts? Look, listen, learn, and then teach. Make the world a better place.

  • The animated version of this poem being peformed needs to uploaded to YouTube!

  • Oscar Brown Jr.'s poem was meant for all to be eduacated about the cruelties of slavery, and for the most part, the degrdation of Black Women. But, why use this poem as a way of attacking Black Women in saying that 'they have totally forgotten what slavery was all about?' I'm glad rmaura chose to post this video, because it was very informative. But, that was the only thing that I felt should not have been included in the vid.

  • History is for learning and making sure that sad events like this does not happen again. One shouldn't hate a race solely because of past history. We are not responsible for our ancestors' sins.

    More peace to all.

  • this just speaks to me on so many levels

  • Pure genius

  • i had my tv on BET one day while i was on the computer and i had my head down and when i started hearing the commercial and what it was about,(that was my first time seein it) that made me stop everything i was doin.....this is so powerful and so sad about our black women 2day.

  • i forget the hung women ...wen i saw dis on bet i couldnt beleive it i wuz like wow..if only they put it on a white station so younger whites can no wat there ancesoctors did and why stuff iz da y it iz

but i waz glad so no us black kids can kno how it waz and wat happend

  • Powerful. We can all agree that this reality was very disturbing but true. It makes us reflect on ourselves and look @ our history in a new perspective.

  • i was speechless when i first saw the video on BET. Because thats probably exactly the way they used to do it back then. THe worst part is to see beautiful black people bargained over like products and beast of burden.

  • wow and it's sad 2 see what they had 2 go through and people 2 (african americans) is fucking up it's very sad I feel for what we had 2 go through and I feel for what we go through now and we will have 2 go through in the future
