The original movie was good; this was almost a carbon copy, and what they changed added nothing to either the characters or the story. There was no real reason for the remake to be made in the first place. (Btw, this is just me ranting so take it or leave it. I have the same problem with the new Italian Job. You just don't try to fix what isn't broken).

I've seen the old version and the new version. personally im more of a fan of the new version, it's easier to understand and get into. there are parts that i thought shouldn't have differed from the old version, like the bus racing versus the tractor thing, but the acting in the new version was amazing, you could tell they watched and studied the original movie a lot, even some of their expressions were exactly the same.

The big deal is that Footloose is ALREADY a classic. It doesn't need to be remade because it's prefect the way it is. There would be a fucking shit storm if they remade Dirty dancing, Gone with the Wind or The Shining. WHY? Because those are fucking classics. They are movies that teach you to learn from your mistakes. Not about grinding on the dance floor.

This is why in a few months nobody will remember the remake of Footloose, but ppl will remember the old Footloose for generations to come.
