I know exactly what you mean, i have a boat. but if you change your mind, i would be interested in talking to you about it. until then, maybe you could provide some info on were you bought the black stallion. i really dont have the resources to build a car that nice, but maybe some day.
@Makoman52 If I were to sell it, I would probably make it known on youtube. I bought the car in Virginia through Ebay. I bought a custom built engine and a new 4 speed and put them in the car. I then had it painted with the Baldwin Motion paint scheme. With my dad's influence and his memories of seeing a Baldwin Motion car in the 60's, I developed a desire to build a tribute car, and this is it. The ironic humor in this is to watch him tense up when I launch it with him in the car.
Love your car. Have you ever thought about selling it? I would like the exact car that you have but i need more information on where you purchased it.
@Makoman52 Thank you. As far as selling it, I have thought about it. I know that I could never be able to sell it for anywhere near what I have in it, so financially, it would be a bad move on my part to try to sell it. Also, it would probably kill me to not have it anymore. Its kind of funny how I let the thought get into my head, and then I drive for five minutes, and I get out and think to myself that I would be crazy to sell that car.
Thank you, the side pipes are Hooker side mount headers with side tubes. There were three choices for the muffler: glasspack, quiet, and performance. I used performance.
Nice video, where did you get the hood? It's a great looking car and there is nothing wrong with a clone or tribute car at all. Also what size are the rims and tires and rim back space?
@burnoutking1971 Thank you for the comment. The hood was purchased on Ebay. The "Motion" style hood is really tough to find. The back tires are 295/50/15 and the fronts are 235/60/15. I am nott certain about the rims. They came with the car when I bought it.
Nice Video! I think i have buyed the same Vette and Motor. It is in Germany. It is here in a short Video, my first drive. You see my Videos under the Name Schombi. Congratulations for this nice Video and your very nice Vette.
Thank you for the comments on my video for my Corvette. I saw a video for Schombi in a silver and black Corvette. That is very nice. It looks like it would be fun to drive.
@namttip2 I'm wanting to do a Motion GT influenced tribute with my '68 coupe, I particularly like the Motion GT non-popup headlights. I'm wondering if you know if there are available headlight buckets from another car I could graft in? I've heard 240z buckets, but the contours don't seem to match to me. Maybe a later model 280z? Any advice?
@cannabotany I would imagine that with a good fiberglass person, you could probably make any of those work, but I don't know for sure. When I was going down that parh, I found several 1 piece fronts with fenders and nose that had the non-popup lights on Ebay.
@namttip2 Thanks, I have not looked for 1 piece front ends. With or without the Motion Gt headlights, my car shall be painted, reassembled, and back on the road by this summer. She has been down for three years, but I'm sooo close. Your car is beautiful, I only hope mine comes out as sexy. Right now, I'm actually losing sleep over what color to paint her; They look great in so many colors, and to me the original "British Racing Green" seems like the wrong color for an American icon....
@cannabotany Good luck with yours. As far as indescision on colors, man did I have trouble picking my color combo. I considered yellow w/ black, red w/ black, black w/ red, and silver w/ black. As far as the British racing green, you make a valid, yet comical point for an "Americaon icon". Truthfully, if you do a good job striping, you almost can't go wrong. I hope to see it on Youtube.
@namttip2 Right now, I'm thinking of black with '96 Grand Sport style stripes, the big one in gunmetal, and the two red hash marks on the fender. Or yellow with a black stripe similar to yours. Or midnight blue with white, or.....
Anyhow, I've been filming the resto, and am making a video of the process, it will be posted, as well as many of the final product. Again, great '68, I love your car. Have you been to the dragstrip? Wondering how fast that beast is?
Now that was a fun clip. I've previously owned a bunch of different early 70's muscle. And even though I lean towards mopars alot, my next vintage project (and possibly the final) may be a 68 roadster bb vette. Have just always wanted one of these. One of the few bodies that looks great as a convertible. '68 is my preferred year, but may settle for up to a '72 if it's the right car needing a rescue/good home.
Thanks for uploading. That was a kick watching. Been a while........
loved the burnouts , that vette is freezing

great video

I enjoyed the video, but I was looking for more traction and 2,000 more rpm per shift.
This car is a monster waiting to be tamed.
Short burnouts do it an injustice.
Get some rubber on the road and rev it up, per gear.
She's a beast waiting to be unleashed and tamed.
GO FOR IT.
