Glad to see you talking about the march 7th youtube deadline. The new design is absolutely appalling! Restrictive meaning less features, limited customization, and overall extremely generic.. Youtube is becoming a dinosaur and it pisses me off b/c I've enjoyed the old style framework a lot over the past years. So much of my time is on the internet yet I see myself departing from it :( Anonymous please work to take dominion over the net, rather than corps..
Wow dude you said it, once again. Its like, the last great unexplored frontier is the mind, or space. Im starting to understand, My feet wont get me anywhere anymore like they use to i just sit and think over the possibilitys, Why is this happening whats happening, where are we headed. This sucks i wanna rome the wilderness. You said it, with the wild west being over and tamed like the net
Ironic he would say that about Facebook...they said they would make the timeline mandatory. I was just thinking I should make a video about all of this internet control, nice!
It makes me die a little inside to think about these things coming to pass. But it pains me more to think about not trying. I want to do something, I want to fight, I want my god Damn freedom.
A free service such as YT or FB will never equal free speech or a right to dictate how those entities run their servers.
If you pay for a service or product you have certain rights as a paying customer, if it's free those rights are only extended as a courtesy, they aren't mandatory, nor should they be.
We are entering the dark age of the internet. We are entering the dark age of the internet. We are entering the dark age of the internet. We are entering the dark age of the internet.
I turned on the news the other day and there were stories about overweight pets and the retirement of a crossing guard...i turned it off needless to say. No news on the news.
I remember...There was a time when you would have to wait for 2 hours to download some pictures from kazza...Good times....(Now I wish some older come along and say something from the medieval times)
Doesn't this just prove that democracy is a good idea? Trust me corporate lobbying isn't restricted to countries where donations or whatever are illegal.
@sharperguy Human nature- that is, to manipulate and gain based on ones own actions, even at the cost of other's existence, is not limited by political structure.
@Styxhexenhammer666 But the success of it can. If there are always people who want to do that then eventually the best ones will get into the highest position of power available. Therefore the only way to stop the effect is to completely decentralise power.
@sharperguy Democracy decentralizes it more than most forms of government, as long as the population has a good set of benevolent written laws like a constitution, and as long as the population is educated well enough to understand and enforce their rights.
In the USA the problem isn't with the law system it's with lack of civil education (unfortunately the founders never mandated civics courses.)
Well, quite frankly if all of the major sites on the internet came down and all your average user would see is advertisements and FBI warnings the "actual" internet would be of a much higher quality. Currently what ruins the internet is people who know nothing coming into communities full of people who know their shit. So, quite frankly I support all of this and I like to think of it has a filter to prevent unintelligent people from saying shit. Period.
and sopa was a distraction. haven't heard about the protests, ye, remember that chebang? well, what happpened, been weeks since i last heard of it.. make sense?
it was inevitable that one day humans would realize what the hell are we gonna do to entertain ourselves? i know we can make a constitution and see how long that lasts while the human population grows and then, we can turn against it and fuck over everybody. lol
As a kid and a teenager, based on the time period and release, television was actually good up until well now. the ideas are not as broad and creative. the news is the same thing everyday. the local news is at least okay since it affects your surrounding area. how do we fight? they probably won't listen to us unless we could vote for issues rather than presidential candidates. its like we dont have a say but then again we sorta do. they just want to keep money flowing and its sad.
Very astute analysis! The power elite want the internet dead and ASAP. The Feds and their big money cohorts are total control freaks who will stamp out all free speech and use retarded copyright arguments to pave the way for total censorship.
@Styxhexenhammer666 That ass is both. Don't bother saying anything against Jeebus on his channel unless you are bored and want to get pussy blocked for one comment.
I know techniquely by the YouTube rules or the general internet laws, for example, say that if we are doing a YouTube show like what you do, but if there is music in it, we're supposed to use at the most 10% of the song.
The best way to protest them is to make them irrelevent. Disconect your internet. Throw away your TV, I have, it´s fuckin useless anyways. Don´t buy cd´s from big record companies, instead support your local bands. Go outside and play.Enjoy the free things in life despite them. Go to the Library. If enough people did this they wouldn´t make any money and they would lose interest. Fuck em, if I can´t have what I want then I will take my ball and go home, and you should too.
I could not agree with you more.

it got closed because it was going to make a music site that gave artists 90% of their money back, way better than other music labels.
And it was going to pay people who put their songs up for free, through advertisments.
Music labels got angry and told the feds some BS, they won.

@Styxhexenhammer666 "Democracy decentralizes it more than most forms of government" - but nowhere near enough.
"as long as the population has a good set of benevolent written laws like a constitution" - they do and it's being ignored
"and as long as the population is educated well enough to understand and enforce their rights."
Isn't it funny how all the people educated "properly" in government approved schools don't seem to be critical of the actions of government?
