  • The concert was so nice there was a chic bouncing up and down rubbing her butt on my front, hahaha she did not even care, she was having so much fun with the concert while she was giving me a hard on with all that bouncing. Night Ranger rules yeahh!!

  • Night ranger was the only rock band I attended in concert. The concert was so loud you would not even hear yourself scream to the top of your lung. That was back in the 80s when they had a concert in astroworld in Houston Tx. Traffic was backed up for miles. I remember my dad was so pissed taking me to that concert.

  • Whoa ... Bowser ... tone it down a notch, eh?

  • 1:19 to 1:27 is so badass

  • i watched this and taped it when it was on...i was seven. I think this show came on after Saturday Night Live, at least in Chicago.

  • I saw these guys open for KISS in 1983. My ears rang for three days after that concert (not kidding.)

  • Jack looks so little! lol...so young I should say, I do remember when this was on,...damn, feels like just yesterday, showing my age, but this is a great performance, as all early Night Ranger vids...search them out.

  • My first concert back in 85 was these guys it was the 7 wishes tour i have loved them ever since....Whatever happened to Jeff Watson he just vanished after they split up?

  • @wpmtpm My first concert was Midnight Madness tour with 38 Special!! They had a "Laser" show!!!

  • Jack was an excellent front man-such charisma!

  • @louderthanlars Still is today at 57 years old!! Jack is still going strong today...

  • I forgot how good these guys were.

  • hey announcer its NIGHT Ranger...not Night RANGER

  • Rock on dedes!!!

  • Was that Bouser from Shanana hosting?

  • @jimmymac63

Yeah, Buddy!!! I said that to my wife too..LMFAO...

  • @jimmymac63 I WAS THINKING THE SAME THING!!!! Sha naa naa nut job he was. I think he works on the turnpike collecting tolls for 8 bucks an hour!

  • i love this song! one of the best!!!

  • cheesy 80's stage theatrics. this is one of nr's better tunes though.

  • @templedown Yeah agreed! but isnt that what made the 80's the 80's? thats why we all keep coming back to this stuff! NR are simply the best

  • @templedown Cheesy?? i hate the word cheese!!! Yuck!!

  • The Star of music programation, always be my favorates, progressive easy going band with a bunch of talente, hope they're still around. My favorate from a long time ago and a whole spririt of inspiration in his music...

  • Jack Blades and Brad Guillis is one of the greatest rock dueos in History ,anyone who missed this band really missed a show.

  • The star of programing videos, it was excelente, still is, Nighr Ranger, what a name, they're planying and compousind music while we sleep. I wish I could hear the once again. Ti would be cool to relive what was one of the greetest season of all times: the 80's. Live Night Ranger

  • It's always good to have a lumberjack in the band in case some trees ever fell in front of the bus.

  • I cant think of band that sounds better live than this... incredible.

  • Just love these guys!!

  • 最高!!

  • actually he kind of looks a lot like me 26 years ago, plays like me too. I would say he is no better or worse in fact

  • at 2:30 the drummer kinda looks like dennis quaid :D

  • while i'm not one to go buying up Night Ranger recordings. I have been telling people for years , you have to see em' (live) to really appreciate em". some of the best twin lead guitar work you are going to see

  • Best twin lead guitar work like in Judas Priest... NR are less heavy but team working is a kind of magic!

  • I can't believe that Bowzer from Sha-Na-Na is in the beginning of this video. He looks different with so much hair on his head.

  • Great song! Thanks for posting! Long live the 80's!!!!!!!!

  • THEY ROCK!!!!!!!!!

  • Jack Blades still rocks even today. Check out TMG...

  • i've only been into Night Ranger for a couple weeks, but I already think there one of my favorites. I was at a yard sale and was looking through this box of records, and i said I was looking for 80s rock, and the guy said try Night Ranger, so i bought two, and i'm hooked!

  • thats a sick story!

  • a fuck yeah dude. We gotta spread the word on how good Ranger is. So much better than most of the other hair bands.

  • How's the word spreading going bro????????????

  • I have so far converted three of my friends who are in college, just by making them a mix and saying it's classic 80's rock.

  • these NR performances are some of my fav on youtube

  • Is it Adam Corrolla?

  • Who's the host, Bowser from Sha Na Na's Brother?

  • I liked Bowser...

  • WATSON & GILLIS' Volume knob work on this song is FANTASTIC!

The camera angles on this vid are NOT. Close ups on shredding? Hello!?

  • Wow. I used to have this album back in the day, and listened to it all of the time. But I had completely forgotten about this song, and it was one of my faves at the time. Man, it's great to hear it again. Thanks music3874 for posting this. It's much appreciated!

  • im young...hmm back in the day...that would of been nice for me to be there...

  • Great band! I like more Watson than Gillis (althoug Brad is also a creative player and a great showman). I find Jeff more technically skilled, more precise and, if you listen to his tapping, maybe faster than gillis.

  • check out rock in america, impossible to tell who's 'better' comes down to personal preference, as richga says. Saw 'em live this year (no Jeff, unfortunately) and Brad was the shit, they played a version of 'crazy Train' with Firehouse and it was fuckin' amazing, Gillis NAILED the solo

  • lol jeff and jack are all coked out

  • wouldn(t you be? lol

  • Im sorry. Im just a huge jeff watson fan.

  • I remember in '83 thinking Fitz looked out of place. Now every motherfucker looks just like him, beard, cap. Right on.

  • jeff can play just as good if not better than brad gillis. Id like to see brad do the 8 finger tapping that jeff does. Plus brad whammy bar stuff is not that hard. Jeffs stuff is alot harder to play than brads.

  • I've been playing guitar since I was 11 and I find it hard to say either one is better than the other. Jeff is definitely a racehorse, but Brad's one of the best whammy bar artists and has a better sense of melody. Personally I like Brad's playing better, but saying one is better than the other is like comparing apples to oranges.

  • amazing!

  • i loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee night rangerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr :0)

  • Thanks for posting this. Would never had seen it otherwise! You are a true gent!

    Thanks again and best regards!

  • One of my favorites, thanks for posting this.

  • Best guitar duo of all time....hands down. Great live band as well...they were successful, but deserved to be one of the hugest bands ever.

  • Actually, there are are more than the two of them in the ivy league, just consider Kenenth Downing and Glenn Tipton (JUDAS PRIEST) or Gary Holt and Rick Hunolt (EXODUS) or Warren DeMartini and Robbin Crosby (RATT). But Jeff&Brad are really astounding, that's for sure.

  • What was so great about the 1980's was that even pop music was still played by real bands. I mean even Duran Duran and Culture Club were actual bands.

Now it's just people rapping over samples.

  • Yes! And at the other end the Heavy Metal crowd spends almost as much time arguing over the sub-genre (prog death metal, melodic death metal, black metal) as they do listening to the 3 note melody. LOL.

  • Night Ranger are one of the most underrated bands....Sure they did well album sales wise in the 80's, but most of their albums are out of print now, Unlike Motley Crue who are very successful today...I love the Crue, but I would argue that Night Ranger is a much better live act as far as musicianship is concerned. Night Ranger are shat on today. It is a damn shame...Hole in the Sun is a great album.

  • Hey cokedude(fun for you) Yes Rumours In the Air was on their first album

  • Actually, Rumours in the Air is on Midnight Madness, which was their second album. Their first was Dawn Patrol.

  • I saw them in summer 2006 in Nashville at the Wildhorse Saloon and they are still great! Kelly lives here in Nashville.

  • I enjoyed the live version but did the ever have a studio version of this song?

  • Yeah they did. It's on the album "Midnight Madness". Someone needs to put the studio version on YouTube pronto. =)

  • Great song & cool volume knob delay intro by Gillis & Watson.

  • brad could not carry jeff anywhere they were pretty equally talented

  • If I was as bald as a cueball I would wear a hat like the keyboardist.

  • Brad has to carry Jeff the horse Watson through this song.

  • Jeff Watson was a much better skilled guitarist than Brad wheres my pedal board Gillis so i really dont get where this statement came from.

  • It doesn't seem now that they fairly appreciated back then to me. I was fortunate to of in the Summer 07' to see them in St. Ignace MI. at the casino. Ive been to more than my share of concerts in the last 30 years. In a audience of less than 400 though that was Absolutely Awesome. Unbelieveable energy, Jack Blades is an amazing front man

  • Night Ranger was so far underrated.

  • I dont think they were. They were very appreciated back in the 80s. Huge.

This was back when Music and talent went hand and hand. MTV was worth watching and you can expect at least one enjoyable music special on the TV on the weekends... those days are long gone. All we have now is American Idol :(

  • agree that were not underrated- the were big in the 80's- most eveyone in my hs owned both dawn patrol and midnight madness- a band that both genders liked

  • I have not heard this song, nor "Passion Play", since the mid-80s. Brings back memories of 1983 (alas, when I was 16). Wonderful, melodic, well-crafted songs that still sound fresh over two decades later.

  • This song came out when I was 17.Great decade.

  • topps66bb, you made my day. Thanks to all you Night Ranger Fans! I am on YT tonight looking at the vids we did back through the years and I have to admit, I'm astonished that anyone remembered us after 25 years! Thanks again and God Bless you ALL! Jack Blades, Original Member, Night Ranger

  • Why does it say on your page that you were the DRUMMER and lead singer? Jack Blades was the BASSIST. I call bullshit. Who are you trying to scam, and why?

  • I agree(mygoofystuff) they still perform here in Las Vegas once a year. Come clean.

  • I don't think this is Jack. He wrote that he WAS the lead singer of Night Ranger, Night Ranger just put out a new CD. They've also been in Japan touring. I know that they'll be at Rocklahoma this summer. Kelly Keagy is the drummer and sometime lead singer. I miss the "Lone Ranger" Jeff Watson from when I saw them at The Bone Fest in Dallas in October 07. Reb Beach is good, but I like him better with Winger and Alice. If this is Jack, I'll apologize. Night Ranger is not DEAD.

  • Thank you for sharing the video! I have never seen this before! Rumors in the air is a great song! This was also a fantastic live performance. Night Ranger sounded great!

  • That keyboardist started that hat rage first.now you see all these guys even wear hat like that in the summer.

  • High School SWAG! Long live the Synthesizer.

  • David Zychek is the best guitar player NR ever had!!!!

  • Who the fuck is that?

  • There was a show called Sha na na and Bowzer is the guy that had greaser hair and sang, "BipBipBipBipBipBipBipBipMumMumMumMumMum get a job"

  • Wow, what a great vid. They were really a good band back then. I saw them open for Sammy Hagar that same year. Jack Blades looks so young... and they really PLAYED their instruments!!

  • Ha! Was that Bowser at the start of the video? What happened to his black t-shirt and Brill Cream hair?

  • I think it was Bowser.

  • Cool! I haven't heard this song in nearly 25 years!

  • Nice posting. One of their more under rated songs...

  • I wish jeff watson would do all the solos

  • then it sure wouldn't be nignt ranger

  • Jeff actually did most of the solos in the studio. It was somewhat of an irritation to him that Brad was getting all the credit. Check out some old Guitar World magazines.

  • Absolutely not true. Forget Guitar World magazine. Look for the December 1984 issue of Guitar Player (always the superior publication) where they gave a track by track break down of who played what on each of the first two albums.

But yeah, Jeff was a bit annoyed because people somehow percieved him as the "rhythm guitarist". I think he actually said he had people asking him things like "What's it like to play rhythm guitar behind Brad Gillis?".

  • I stand corrected - that's what I get for relying on memory from that time. The question about playing behind Brad stuck out in my mind.

  • What's wrong with Brad Gillis he's a better guitarist,Jeff's good but not as good as Brad.

  • thanks for posting this!

  • thats great great great great i dont have any words to tell it¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡

  • Hey music3874, Thanks for the vid! Have you got "Passion Play" from the same gig??

  • I believe I have three other songs from a different night they were on the show. Hopefully I'll be able to get them up soon.

  • Thats great, thanks very much!

  • thats right fam, great song!

  • great song!

  • great album...tons of good guitar work and every song was great. Cool lyrics

  • increible!!
