@aplfrk I think all it has is auto focus. There is no manual focus, that's for sure.

@TheLunarWhisper I can't say it's that good all the time, but I can say I didn't process it or edit it in any way. It's a nice little camera. It's not stellar in low light, but not many are.

I've been watching Vado HD videos on YouTube all day. And, while the audio *does* seem to capture better in these types of settings, the sound quality of your videos is better than most.

Do you adjust the audio when you're editing? Do you use an external mic?

@withnulc I did nothing special with the audio. No post editing or mics. It may have been the acoustics of the small room.

Yeah it's probably a combination of acoustics & your voice, which is very clear and carries well.

I decided to go with their newest (3G) model. It has a stereo mic and external mic options.

It is 500 if you get it from BestBuy, but cheaper (100 bucks less or more) if you find it somewhere else, I found it for about 300 somewhere but they ran out so I have to keep looking.

Yes, as many videos as you want up to 2 hours depending on quality. I've never used a Flip, but I think they have a similar version that wouldn't be much different.

i tried the creative vado HD + kodak zi6

did you decide yet? i haven't tried the FlipMino HD but judging from Chris' review I haven't really paid much attention to it since I have the zi6 and vado. zi6 is cheap and will do the 60 FPS might be best for the skating and moving shots to capture at higher frame rates..

we live in an incredible time.. it was only years ago i was buying minidv tapes and cameras at higher prices than these incredible gadgets. the vado HD is a work of art in its design and quality product.. for a lover of photography and video you NEED to get one. and if your in Canada i just found tigerdirect has stocked up, and i haven't seen any other retailer carry them yet but yknow i do have blindspots

Hi i just recently got my vado hd and for sum reason i can't upload to youtube. like it takes FOREVER it just keeps saying "uploading" and never finishes. i am not messin with the original vid source. it is in .avi format. do you know what the problem is? or do i need to be more patient? how long does it take ur vids to upload?

Not sure but it's probably just more patience needed. These are decent size files and even if your speed is great sometimes the way Youtube/facebook/whatever upload chokes the files. My larger files take up to 4 hours, the smaller files over 2 so yeah, it can take a bit. Let one go overnight and see what happens.

I got a little Joby gorillapod. It's a standard tripod mount, but you will want a flexible tripod to be able to mount it anywhere.

PRIOR to uploading to youtube is the video when uploaded directly to usb in HD or do you only see it in HD when you upload on youtube...lets say i tranferd videos the my laptop will the videos be in HD when transferd?

The video is in HD on your laptop or TV as an avi file. Remember though that HD is really only about lines of resolution and not overall video quality. These cameras don't have great quality video, but it is high resolution HD (720p)

After further use. Yes indeed, I am completely sold on this thing. I'm glad I chose it over the mino HD. If for no other reason than the storage space and flexibility to chose resolution. Less money, more features, I think it's a clear winner.

for $200 (at amazon) is the best out of Kodak Zi6, Flip Mino and Creative Vado HD.

Creative Vado HD - For The Win! (I have watched actual video comparisons. The other 2 cameras boost contrast to compensate for low light which makes colors look washed out, and they have a smaller recording area.)
