I made some glass vases and they look nice but I'm having a problem though. I export as OBJ but when I view it in meshlab it doesn't look right, either it doesn't have any texture and it's just a plain ol object or it doesn't look like a glass vase but instead looks like a vase with a pic slapped onto it! or something. it looks messy. How do I export OBJ and keep em looking transparent with normals? PLZ Help!
HI Everyone, I started big project a few weeks ago. I am making movie in Blender, I am recruiting a TEAM now. If you want to Join the team, just write me, Everyone can join how wants to work on my film and has some knowledge with Blender and will be able to work permanently on this Project
It is not gonna be animated type of movie like big buck Bunnie or elephants dream. I want to make it looking realistic. JOIN NOW!!
That was smooth and nice. I bet you would have started with a cube and made it into a huge plane for the base and then started with another cube to make the glass and made copies of it... I`ve been doing models that way... Is there any better way you use?
Exactly, Everything in the video started as a cube. I can't remember what tool I used to make the glass rounded though, it's been a while since I've used blender. Starting to forget the basics already d'oh.
You mean on the silver glasses? Yes. I know. It looks better if I enable transparent shadows on the silver. But this really increases my render time. My focus was on the glass and the environment lighting. Bright yet soft. And yes the green glass needs some tweaking too.
round glasses needs round bases...

@stabilini No. You can start with cubes and add the subsurface modifier ot it. That will create round objects.
