@Shockszzbyyous oh dear god, there has to be new characters you know! River must be the -SPOILERS- doctor's wife. That is obvious. But romana didn't love the doctor. She's human. It says in The Forest of the Dead 'you came to my house'. That implies earth and I don't see Romana settling down. I think it's interesting but now in the new series they severed all links with the time war. The master is likely to return but romana? Don't hold your breath. Although it would be great seeing her return.

Wonderful idea, Faith. Donna would have been brilliant as the first of the new time lords, showing human potential- even a self-absorbed temp can grow to become something infinitely more magnificent and majestic than she ever dreamed. It would have paid off her character development brilliantly, rather than her cheat fake 'death' by having her mind wiped. That was gutless writing and paid no respect to her character.

There are numerous ways that one can surmise that Donna was really Romana; my own theory being based on the fact that Donna made numerous references to the fact that she was a Temp (the Latin noun 'tempus'; meaning 'TIME' together with the Italian word for 'LADY' being 'donna').

Remember that RTD is a very clever writer and it's my belief that he intentionally left all these red herrings lying around to get us questioning things and, in turn, keeping the show in the public consciousness.

I understand there were indeed early ideas to turn Donna into a new human-time lord who would rebuild the Time Lords (ie people aksing 'what are you?') but they decided against it. Which is a shame, she received the most character development of anyone, and it would have worked beautifully- as would her death as a hero and something more than she ever thought, which would have paid real respect to the character.

Donna is physically Human, Meta-crisis only gave her Time-Lord ability to process knowledge and information that's all, Humans not meant to think that way, it will kill them, Donna is not physically a Time-Lord, that's why it would kill her.

Still would love to see Romana in the series again, even though some authors might have killed that already, bringing her back from E-space and making her Gallifrein president of the high council, prior to time-war

I think at some point the watch from torchwood belonged to a time lord or lady. But Russell T Davies had so many plot lines he just forgot about... Even the ones he used like Face of Boe were only half thought out.

I am so glad you made this. I , in my mind use Alex too to explain. Perhaps, Romana escaped time war, with her child or alone. Either scenerio. Donna is Romana or her daughter. In the 1960's Torchwood found her, Jack wasn't a bigshot yet, just a servant for it. He wouldn't be privy. Alex's predessor could have told him, This necklace could be Romana's. Donna adopted by a torchwood man, maybe that's why her "mom' is mean.

Donna was my favorite companion out of the three of the new series, because she wasn't falling head over heels for the Doctor, and she met their adventures with a more headstrong attitude - Planet of the Ood, The Unicorn and the Wasp, The Doctor's Daughter, Silence In the Library/Forest of the Dead, The Sontaran Strategem/The Poison Sky. Rose and Martha were way too often concerned about their familes back home, even when they were in the 51st century

(Susan is the Doctors Granddaughter)coz Susan is half Gallifreyian and TimeLord( Both TimeLords and Gallifreyians are different) so Susan could survive and regnerate, so she could be anybody!! The problem with RTDs Doctor Who is that it's all promise and hype, and no delivery. Donna could have been so many things but ultimately she wasn't anything. Now if she'd been Romana, or the Rani, or even the Master, defeating Davros might have held a bit more credibility and the whole You Are Not Alone stuff would have finally made some sense.
