Seen him at wembley empire great time .big smoke and all that, dads uncle said it was just around the corner he stayed in wilisden at that time heavy irish then what a corner it went for 3 miles.
I hated the high notes the first time I saw this too but now I like it. Not exactly high (compared to the end!) but 0:47 is great. I wish there was more from this period. I think I once read he's got some warehouse somewhere in Europe with audio and video of everything he's ever recorded.
@lastmile77 Hard to find this period on video bowie cant even remember half of it so all the best in tracking this stuff down.I have some good footage from 76
lol what is with the high notes? Is he trying to do the funk thing with that song? Sweetie, I don't think you should do that. Sing it the way you sung it before. Haha its like he's trying to be with the cool kids or something. I really don't like how he basically hates every past persona he passes and wants nothing to do with them. Even singing like them. Oh well, I still love him...
Is this from Vancouver? Look out for the Station To Station re-issue CD/DVD package this year! Hopefully this track, along with the others is on the DVD..
wow.... i dont mind this version of Life on Mars... its nothing compared to the sheer power he pumps into "The Tonight Show" version from 1980. But, i liked it..

I love Bowie, but some of these high notes are awesomely horrible.

he sung the hell out of those songs, so soulful.
it's a strange paradox knowing that he had trouble with cocaine during this time, but boy the music was amazing.

The second try at Five years is really good! When the backing singer keeps out of it...
Life on Mars in the beginning feels like a parody. Over the top serious.
Really good clip! Thanks!
