@paulallen34 - sorry, I don't have the time right now to do a more detailed tutorial. This video is really rather for advanced players who can follow my playing and the few explanations I gave. A lot of YouTubers learned the song this way though. I got many mails

Beginners CAN play this song! I know that most of you will watch this tutorial, think it's too difficult and give up completely but give yourself a chance ♥ :-) Start of with simple notes and slowly work your way up to playing full chords. 2 years ago, Hot Cross Buns made my brain hurt but now most people think I've had years upon years of professional lessons . . . @robertennick - that is hard to say. I`m sure that some talented beginners can lern to play the song like that. To play at my level, as you ask, is a question of style. Some of the techniques I use can be obtained quickliy, some need years. THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IS: YOU CAN HAVE FUN AT THE PIANO EVEN AS A BEGINNER. AND A SIMPLE SONG PLAYED WITH A FEEL FOR IT WILL ALWAYS SOUND GREAT...

An dieser Stelle ist ein sogenannter Alterierter Akkord: Durch die Melodie (oben mit dem rechten kleinen Finger ein Ges spielen) ergibt sich klanglich eine kleine Terz ("Mollterz") zum unten mit der rechten Hand (Daumen) gespielten großen Terz ("Durterz"). Das macht den etwas schrägen Sound an dieser Stelle aus...

Hoffe, es ging nur um diese Stelle, der Rest ist klar, oder?

It's better if you show yourself in the beginning of the video and in the end, not during the entire song because it's really hard to see the keys when you block them all the time. Also when you play the melody you need to be clearer how you play it cause it can be hard to pick up the exact combinations when you play it as fast as that.

E minor is just a chord, like if you have C E G that's a chord we call C minor... So E minor is E G B.

As MatthiasJong already posted, I´m talking about chords here. You can find a lot of help concerning chords in the internet... It would take too much time to explain every single one of them, and OTHER players would get VERY BORED..

And please notice that playing this Earth Song version after only 6 months on the piano is like flying a real 747 after six days of "Air Race" on the PC.
