Adult Stem Cells and Embilical Cord Stem Cell can be funded by private donations and has proven effective. When you have half of Americans who object to creating life and then destroying life to make some change in a persons health, you've already vetoed the whole purpose of life. Embryonic Stem Cells are playing with fire. Human life isn't cheap and hasn't shown the progress that Adult Stem Cells have shown.

Ron Paul is treading such a fine line and only explains the worst case scenario. Any of you that think that stem cells are to coarse people to have abortions are so far right it's silly. Any of you know how many fertilized eggs are thrown out and/or destroyed every day? No we can't have those being used cause certain religions might find it offensive to over throw god's will.

Autologous stem cell transplantation is a procedure by which blood-forming stem cells are removed, and later injected back into the patient. All stem cells are taken from the patient themselves and cultured for later injection. The technique is referred to as a bone marrow harvest and is performed under a general anesthesia. I wonder how George W Bush would feel if his mom and dad got struck by Parkinsons disease or some kind of degenerative disease, that could only be helped with stem cell research results, do you think he will regret all the years he wasted on the work that needed to be done? How about any republican that opposes the research now, how would they feel watching there loved once suffer? Well, I guess you need a heart to feel. tax dollars to build nuclear weapons? USA creates most of the cures because of the National Institute of Health! Talk about waste; Now researchers must keep 2 complete labs/phone/file systems!
Adult stemcells have more problems & are decades behind ESCR!
Every second the health of another person slips too far to be helped.
1 of these is wrong; Stopping lives from being saved or making sure a life-giving cell is destroyed instead of used.
Those who donate or act against ESCR will be responsible for millions of deaths.

Only people who have no idea of what happens in research or are blatantly dishonest can support federal funding for anything. First - spending money is not necessary for research to happen. Its not a throw-money at the problem kind of situation. But, if you start throwing money, you collect more maggots than genuine researchers who all of a sudden are adding whole lot of junk into the field disorienting the newly initiated researchers. It takes a lot of time to just sort through junk first.

and those that support Federal government spending on stem cell research need to remember that they money came from somewhere which may have been spent on R&D. The government getting involved is guessing how much stem cell research needs to happen instead of letting the market determine how much should happen.
