IF(note i put a really big if) zannah defeated bane, that is okay beacause of the rule of two. Its the circle of sith. bane knows that the apprentice will one day rise up and defeat the master, so it was supposed to happen
Finally another person gets it. Strength doesn't always mean what one can do with the force. What really made Bane so strong is that he had traits most if not all Sith Lords lacked: patience, cunning, secrecy. Plus he was not arrogant like so many of his predecessors.
@nre0 interesting? perhaps...but bane would win we all know that but its not knowing he would win its how he would win and the look on palpatines face
Well If Darth Bane was oh so powerful and was the Sith'ari then why did his apprentice Darth Zannah destroy him? We mind as well say she was the Sith'ari. First of all Darth Bane learned all his secrets from a holcron that Darth Revan made. It was Darth Revan who told Darth Bane that there should be rule of two. One who is the figure of the power of the darkside and one who thirsted for that power. So would Darth Revan be the true Sith'ari for inspiring the rule of two to Darth bane?
@MrThehommies - The Sithari was prophecised to lead the Sith -destroy them through which it would then make them stronger than ever before. He did that. The whole point of the Rule of 2 was to make sure the Sith remained strong - and that each Dark Lord of the Sith would be stronger than the previous. Bane's apprentice surpassed him - and killed him as she was supposed to, and the cycle carried on until Darth Sidious - the greatest of them all.
@MrThehommies and the book also explained that she knew sith sorcery and bane wasnt very good at defending against it and thats how zannah destroyed him
@MrThehommies Who exactly says darth bane is neccessarily dead do you not recall his final ritual of body transfer I do not believe the ritual failed and why would zannahs left hand be twitching rapidly like banes hand unless the ritual succeded and it could also explain while zannahs demeanor changed at the end I think bane still lives on inside her body
@TheTuxedoMaskDarien, Drew Karpyshyn stated that Bane was destroyed at the end of the third book. The reason Zannah's hand was twitching was because a small part of Bane was imprinted on her during the life transference, but not enough for him to be considered "alive".
@MrThehommies Because he was old and he didn't just study Darth Revan's holocron. He studied at least 4 of them from the most Legendary Sith masters. Darth Revan only contributed by showing him the secrets of the thought bomb to destroy the other Sith and he did have the idea of the rule of two but if Darth Revan was the Sith'ari then why didn't he just kill them in his time if he was so powerful?? because he wasn't strong enough obviously. Bane always knew that the Sith were flawed
@Tkhaikovski because he stinks. and the only one who could defeat him is vader because he couldn't smell anything. And Obi Wan ate too much Wasabi so he couldn't smell anymore either
@Tkhaikovski don't take star wars too seriously mate. I made a LOL behing my comment. meening it doesn't make much sense. it's not reality. Come back to the real world.
@OrsonMyles Darth Bane created the Rule of Two, he created the real sith. Darth Bane was the Sith Ari. Darth Bane was not only really strong like a brute, but he was smart and intelligent as well.
Soo...Darth Bane was killed and his apprentice took his place then other people kept on killing their masters until it led down to Darth Vader and Emperor Palpatine. In the Force Unleashed Saga Darth Vader called upon his apprentice to kill Palpatine and so he did. Then Darth Vader with the new Sith lord...Starkiller died and the Sith order was done. The End.
@Tkhaikovski Unfortunately strengthening and recreating the Sith Order does not make him the most powerful. While Bane was strong he was still weak compared to the knowledge and power Darth Sidious and his predecessors had accumulated, not to mention the other ancient Dark Lords whom we've seen destroy planets by themselves (Darth Nihilus) and become almost immortal (Sith Emperor, Darth Sion, and Darth Andeddu). Bane's sith reformation while extremely important does not make him most powerful.
@QuiGon23 Not to burst your bubble...and while bane was a amazing and incredible sith lord...the strongest sith lord would be exar kun...as he is still alive...and can not die... ;P
@vledius6229 I was meaning in the time of Banes life ;P Now he is dead lol but it took him THOUSANDS of years to die ;P this was just one example of a sith stronger then bane...another example of a stronger sith would be Naga Sadow who could create an entire Army with his mind.... He could imagine gunships...meteors crashing down on the planet...anything he thought became reality....so long as he was in meditation ;P Bane was cool but if your a true fan of the sith youll know that bane isnt num1
@Sorrowforliving actually exar kun was killed as a force ghost by luke skywalkers trainees on yavin 4 11ABY and could not come back since his temple was destroyed his including his burial grounds... sorry to burst YOUR bubble look it up on wookipedia
They acctually never said anythings about the black stuff around his eyes in the books. Anyways my mental image of him will always be the one in the cover of the third book
@rapturjesuss Wookieepedia's article about Darth Bane states: "In 1,010 BBY, at the age of sixteen, the tall and muscular Dessel began to work in the cortosis mines of his world."
But the book Darth Bane: Path of Destruction says that Bane was 13 when he started working in the mines. So, you're right.
I started watching.. then I was like.. ummmm. No.
I'm in the middle of Path of Destruction. Not risking any spoilers. Lmao.

If they´d make a movie from this books, I´d suggest Timothy Olyphant for Dessel/early Bane and - who else? - Vin Diesel from there on to the end.
Now where did I leave the number of George Lucas...
