Not a regular base jumping but wingsuit base jumping. There's a difference! In regular base jumps, you have seconds to open your parachute, otherwise you go splat. Wingsuit allows you to fly away from the cliff and do some gliding.

You have to start with skydiving first and get a good few hundred jumps from aircraft before anyone will train you in base.

They dont use the concept base jumping to "sex up" what they do, what they do "sex up" the concept of base jumping. Look at some Loic Jean Albert footage if you need proof. Demonstration...Someone jumps off a Cliff, 5 seconds later they deploy their chute before they hit the deck, and then safely land.

Compared to Jumping off a cliff with nothing more than a "Wing" aka..a paraglider-like suit, and travelling 6 miles down the valley at a slight angle before deploying the chute to land. Not the origional intention BASE jumping was created for, so why call it that.

BASE jumping is about jumping off a verticle object (Bridge, Antennae, Span, Earth.) These guys are merely paragliding using these Batsuit designs and then using the BASE jumping tag to "sex up" what they do. Its not BASE jumping, its a completely different thing.

Do and AFF course, where ever you are. Learn to skydive, control the canopy on the way down etc. You need about 200 then you can get taught how to base jump with qualified instructors. But be careful, there's no rushing it, this is a serious sport, and sloppiness is fatal. Have fun, but be careful :-).

sort of. "tracking" is way of flying horizontally by modifying your body position to a "delta" shape. you can "fly" in this way even without a wingsuit. the suit itself decreases your fall rate and inflates- when you "track" with a wingsuit the forward velocity creates lift from the suit and slows you down even more.

in less words it's the "lift" principle of a wing.
