bad CGI :( jurassic park happened 20 years ago, you people need to get off that train. this is just boring and ugly. If I want to watch cartoons, I watch donald duck.
No it's totally real- the metal itself isn't alive- insects have made the metal their homes and use the static current that builds up in their joints as a power source. It truly is evolution in action- a metal nest will never fall prey to birds, and they are incredibly well camouflaged in the industrial environment.
As for the person who said- evolution can't happen in 60 years take a look at MRSA- it didn't exist until the 40s
I thought of a lot of things to reply to that convorsation too, but you summed it up beautifully. Hard to believe there are still people that haven't heard the term "mockumentary".
This is certainly NOT an example of evloution in action. The spcies in itself, if what you say is even true, has undergone no change whatsoever, merely adapting to better utilise it's environment. Adaptation is very commonly observed in nature, often taking as few as 15 generations of a species to completely alter a characteristic. In spite of this, no evolution has occured at all. Having said that, this is computer animation anyway, no such hybrid insect-machines exist.
I totally want a metal-fly nest

This can't be real, right?
That just isn't possible. Metal things can't be alive and there are no robots like that. It's a camera trick.

well, maybe not exactly mockumentary; more sci-fi, or science theory

Great job! Although I have some serious concerns about the future of our race when someone has to ask "Is this **** for real?"
