Thank you so much! It didn't even seem to be a 20min video bc I was so into it! ;) My Cricut is in the mail & should be here in a few days!!!! XD I'm soooo excited, & I will deff be watching every one of your videos!!
I've had my Expression for a year but only used it a couple of times, because I just didn't understand the settings. Your step by step demo showing me the settings and what each one does - that's exactly what I wanted and needed. You're clear in your instructions and I love the added recommendations along the way. Thank you so much for this very worthwhile video. I will be watching all of yours.
I've had my machine for awhile already but I haven't used it very much. Even if it's not the most professonal video, it's the hand holding I need so I might actually use my cricut. Thank you!
Thank you so much for taking the time to be so helpful. I just received the Expression as a Valentine's Day gift and I am excited about what I have learned so far. I like that you broke this tutorial down into the bare basics... i am a visual learner and I will be watching your other videos until I get comfortable using this fantastic machine. I appreciate your knowledge. Mellie
I am watching all of your tutorials again - I just ordered my first Expression and I AM SO EXCITED! Thank you so much for doing these videos. You're amazingly helpful!
Hi! I got my cricut today! Yay! it took me awhile to figure how to add the blade but finally got the hang of it. My cricut didnt include a plug to connect it to the computer. Should I get one?
I'm actually watching your videos because I am finally getting serious about my Cricut and doing some things. Thank you so much for the classes. There more beneficial than you can imagine, especially for beginners like me. Again, thank you for all you videos because they're all great and extremely helpful.
Thank you , thank you , thank you - you are an angel, i love your classes, keep them coming, what a blessing, not babyish at all, you ARE DOING AN AWESOME JOB OF IT. THANK YOU SO MUCH LOGAN. Hugs to you Laura.
Thank you for this class, I look forward to each one! Great Job!! I really appreciate the tip on turning off the machine before switching cartridges.I always did turn my cricut off before switching but only as a precaution but now i will do it all the time for sure!!
I just got twonew mats a while back but ...I will not buy anymore thanks for sharing I used stencil ahesive but it has a strong smell... thanks girl I will have to turn my speed up...had fun watching...
Great starter class; :) Quick question: Will you be showing us how to apply the adhesive to the matt? Also, I have heard that the large chisel tip ek success glue works well with the regular matts. Do you know if they work well with the Imagine matts or do you have to use the spray adhesive on thoose? :)
I Sweetie!!! Yea...she DID watch your video and of course the 1st thing she said was"I don't have the expression" and I know you don't own your Baby Bug anymore...So I will be encouraging her to Keep watching and since she only has the Baby But it should be EASIER b/c less buttons to mess with. Right? LOL...Keep the videos and I will will keep making her tune in.Thanks again,
Thank You for taking it slow to show how to use the Expression, mine is still in the box so hopefully, your tutorial will help me to finally get it out of the box.
This is so awesome THANK YOU! I started off with a baby bug a few months ago and was one of those people that had to open it right away and failed to read directions. LOL but this covers some of the basic quetions that I had. Especially the sticky adhesive! great money saving tip! ;)
Thanks for doing this. I have had my expression for about 3 years and Im ashamed to say that I HATE IT.... however...... IT HATES ME TOO..... so we are even! LOL Maybe by watching this series I can learn to love it and remember why I wanted it so badly :)
@GoinCriCrAzY hehehe Sometimes I get aggravated with mine but then I turn it off and restart and it listens..heheh :) I wish kids/husbands were like that. :)
@Cinfulwayoflife Some tell you its fine to hot switch it but from a user that did it and tore it up I dont recommend it..I dont care what Provo Craft may say. :) TFW
Thanks for the good tutorial. I also have broke a expression by changing cartidges and not turning it off first. I learned alot of stuff I did not know. thanks for doing this. Will be watching everyone. I never knew what the setting button was for and was scared to push it. There are alot of buttons I am scared to push for fear of breaking a second one.
@tuffytuffers I hate to hear yours broke too but its nice in the same way so others on here can see it does happen. Thanks for watching and I hope you find what the other buttons are for that you need! :)
You made me laugh with "if you want to jam it down, you can" (when opening the cricut) Also, speed minimum "it goes slower than a turtle". Thanks for making this series! It's going to be AWESOME!
Hi there, Thanks for making these videos :) I am new to the scrapbook scene, and learning all of the ins and outs of the Cricut will be great. I have not had mine for too long so I am just learning about all the Cricut can do.
What a great tip for the cutting mats! I have already had to buy more so being able to make them re-sticky is huge!
@thecraftnut32 I highly recommend that spray but like I said a little goes a long way so be careful! If you look for other ways to resticky the mat on youtube there are plenty different ways. :) Thanks for watching!!
Hi Sweetie!!! I think you did a GREAT job!!! I am not a newbie Persay however both my mother and I got the Baby Bug when it first came out and neither one of us has bother to Play with it...it always seemed so intimidating to us. I did however dive in about 2 years ago (when I discovered You Tube) and "teach myself" by watching all of you fab. ladies...My mother is a bid more "tech. phobic" and need a HOLDING HAND literally. I am making her watch your series and I think you were on her level.
@jeffnval1 Thank you so much! I am trying to explain it so that if you have any "tech phobic" issues you can catch on. :) If you or your mom ever have any questions just ask!!! :) Thanks for watching!!
ooh, can't wait till you do the gypsy tutorial - I got one for Christmas, and I haven't used it yet. I got the black cricut as an early Christmas present last year - love it, but I am still a beginner user, as I only cut text with it. There are so many buttons that I've never even touched....
Good tip about the hot swappingm and the easy stick. I learned so many thing that i had no idea about. I'll be be here for all the lessons :) Thank you for doing this!
@goodgriefyou If you cant wait on me to do the gypsy tutorial I recommend Creations with Christina or My Creative TIme with Emma. They both are awesome with the gypsy!! :) Thanks for watching and glad you are getting something out of my series. :)
Thank you!!! You are so informational. I've had the Expression for at least year and have always wondered about the switching of cartrdges. Thank you for the warning!! I'm blessed to have one, I suriously doubt my husband would let me have another if my breaks. Looking for the next class.
I didn't know about the settings button! I'm already learning Carolanne!!! Thank you, I have the cutting guide from Above rubies and it's awesome!!! Oooh getting the sticky tack! Are you going to share this series on A Lil Scrap Website? If not would it be alright if I did? YAY I'm so excited to learn more about my expression♥Thank you♥
@cynthialoowho I am so busy right now that I havent had a chance to get on the site lately so feel free to put them where ever you would like!! I appreciate you passing the word around!! :)
Thanks for sharing. I got my cricut expression on christmas day. I used the baby cricut before I got my new one. And I would like to learn what the buttons between the screen and plate. I will look for that video when it comes up.
@designzbydebbz I feel like I made it to slow but I am getting alot of "thank you" so I guess I didnt go to slow. Its harder than I thought to explain it in "beginner" terms. :) Thanks for watching!
@1sunflowermel The more detail there is on the cut; the slower the speed should be. Depth is more about the type of medium, is CS or DP or chipboard... I hope this helps. I sure Carolann will be mre help.
@1sunflowermel Well that depends on the size you want to cut..sometimes when I want to cut it real small and complex I go to like speed 1 and maybe depth of 3. You really have to play around with it. HTH.
Great overview. I've had my cricut for over a year but it's always good to get a refresher - especially with buttons I don't use often. Looking forward to the rest of the series!
Thank you so much for this video! I had my blade depth all wrong. Also, I didn't know whether or not you can put in cartridges while the power is on. Obviously you can. But what I didn't know is that you could damage your cricut by changing out cartridges with the power on. I'm going to do it with the power off from this point on. I just got my cricut (it's the baby bug) this year for Christmas so there is much to learn. Thanks for making this seriese for people like me. ~Dera
thanks...the speed and pressure part really helped, and I had now idea how to change the blade, but now I think I can do it!! can't wait until the next video!!
great first class Carolanne! I have had the babybug for 4 years and rarely use it...hoping this will help take the fear out of it .... and make me start to use it more....Question...how do you know when it's time to change your blade? Now that I know how to change the blade ( thanks so much for that!)
@uglybobswife I normally change mine when nothing else helps..like the blade presure, speed and such...at times I change it when I use a new thicker paper. HTH Thanks for watching!!
Thank you so much for talking about the settings. I found the part about slowing down the speed when you are doing smaller cuts very helpful. I tend to put everything on Max (not just in scrapbooking either lol). I am getting my expression this weekend. My mom got me one for Christmas and we are FINALLY going to go see her this weekend.
