@EvilEtiquette - Hornbeams are common in England (& most of Europe & the Eastern US). Considered to be a 'trash tree' or tree-sized weed by many. Often cleared from pastures & woodlots to make room for more desireable or less common species, etc. Or this one very well may have been resuced from a construction area. Maybe Mr. Potter will share the history of the tree, but you can rest assured that fewer trees were harmed in its collection than in one mile of the road you drove down today.
I have try to find the makia that you use and can't would you help me with this ? if I can I will then get your cutter. any other info on cuter tool ?
Interesting demonstration and very nice tree. Only down side was the music, a bit too loud, but this does not affect the quality of the video at all. Would you repeat the species of the tree?
Love the videos. Absolutely what I want to see, adventure, diversity, and great judgement in crafting bonsai. Your videos are very inspirational. Thanks.
Dear Graham: I would like to say thank you for this source of experience and inspiration...I from Nicaragua, Central America, and have a few years in this art but now I enjoy more work with yamadoris cause I can see more inspiration, shapes and beautiful trees. Thank for everything my friend, keep on working...form here UN ABRAZO!
after carving the tree, do you put something to protect the carved area? i see that during carving process, the area looks whitish then finish product seem to blend to the tree's natural color.
try and talk to landscape gardeners they are always geting rid of trees and they will know what your looking for, abit of cash in there back pocket is best.
Another brilliant video, and another stunning tree! I was very keen to see this one, as the tree is very similar in size to a Beech I have to remove from my neighbour's garden. Can't wait for the next vid! Well done again.
really awesome all your works!!

wasn't it risky to style this tree that late in the season? I always read that it's better to do it before the tree has leaves on. what do you think?

could you please tell me who a tree like this is unearthed from the wild?

QUESTION: what tool do you use to carve your trees?
noghrestchi1 2 years ago
Great work.
Will the newly exposed wood now start to rot? Or do you seal it with something?
Thanks.
