Android 2.0 Settings vs. Android 1.6 Settings

Is there any reason I should install encrypted certificates to SD card? I'm not even sure what that is. I have t mobiles G2 2.1 android phone. It just did an upgrade today. Google isn't helping me with this question. Can you recommend a site or an app where I can learn about phone stuff? Thanks

I have a mytouch 3g and its 1.6 and i want to get it to at lest 2.1, it didn't come with a disc to istall into the computer either since it was a dev phone, please help thanks.

the Nexus S came out a few months later and was the first to run 2.1

Later, the Droid was updated to 2.1

I'm sure T-mobile will work it out. I've seen some ports going on already. My thought is that if t-mobile doesn't put 2.0 in g1, 2 things might happen. Either they will have a bunch of people rooting their phones and possibly bricking them if their new. Or a bunch of angry customers because g1 is just a year old and no updates already? lol, so i think tmo will try to put it on g1, not sure how long it will take and not sure how fast the rom will be.

@xtenpeben T-Mobile doesn't make the updates. Google does. Its up to Google to make 2.0 for the G1. All T-Mobile does is add a few of their own minor branding customizations and distribute it OTA.

i think you misunderstood my point. Google doesn't put updates to the g1. they put software updates on their own, and put it on AOSP. T-mobile is the one handling the updates on the g1s, coz they r the ones distributing it like u said tru OTA. his question was will the g1 get 2.0 eclair. I just answered it like u did. T-mobile will provide it tru OTA. Google doesn't have a say if G1 gets it. they just released OS updates tru AOSP.

I'm hoping Passion/Dragon/Bravo gets into T-mobile USA. coz we're pretty much got slapped to our face when the droid went to verizon. lol. T-mobile needs to fight back :)

Actually I don't even have an Android device. I'm crusin on the Sidekick Slide. Lol. But im going to go to tmobile in a week or two to get (possibly) the motorola cliq. G1 is kinda old and the last time i got a phone that was 1 year old (Sidekick iD) it fucked me in the ass for 2 years. So im gonna go with the new hotness. Rooting isnt a huge issue but ive been following forums and people are SO close to rooting it.

I've rooted mine. It's not bad, as long as you do all the research, coz people been bricking their phones. anyways, i'm not sure if the rumor is true, but if u want u can hold off to ur horses coz rumors are there are alot better android devices coming to t-mobile in the next year. cliq is cool. i'm looking for a much bigger screen now. that's why if rumor is true, i'm waiting for dragon/passion/bravo. whatever comes to t-mo lol

Yeah if something really nice comes out. maybe a true G2 not the mytouch comes along with a full 5 row keyboard ill either get a job and buy it outright or use my moms upgrade to get it and give her my cliq. she doesnt wanna upgrade her little samsung.

Sync capabilities sounds great. And being able to seach youtube from wherever is nice. And I suppose you can add stuff to that list. Great!
