6783+4917, using ur method it's 11600, but 11700 is the right result. Any ideas why?

I would just say:

17 hundred, 130

18 hundred 30, 18

18 hundred 40, eight

Figure it out yourself.

This is the reverse method that everyone else does surely? I do this but the other way round.

And speed is deduced by practise and how intelligent the person is surely, not necessarily the method.

I like your method....but it has some shortcomings.

For example, if you do:

7532814+9467294

then you realize you need to add 1 only towards the end...which in turn might take longer than conventional method.

I can see you method working well for smaller and less 'tricky' additions.

Finally....so many video's with these slow methods...where did they all come from..?

Adding and multiplying works best when you place them on top of each other...and by the way.....these small numbers in this video...calculate them in your head is much quiker :)
