Its amazing how many so called arabic people are commenting on bellydancing. If the dance comes so easy to "real" arabic women then why are you checking out other dancers? If the dance is so revealing and inproper then why are you looking at it? Go back to where you came from if you want to put down american swhile your in america!

Why are Arabs checking this video?! MAYBE its the title "Leila" an arabic name, or "Cairo" an arabic city. MAYBE its the arabic music, the arabic dancing, need I say more? MAYBE cuz its a public board and anyone inclding Arabs has the right post. It could also be that its "their" ARABIC culture! May I ask why YOU have an arabic clip saved on ur page? Stop ur typical American arrogance and stick to ur own boring cowboy "culture" if ur going to look down on Arab people while ur on an arabic page!

I agree, she's really amazing!! I just had a workshop with her in Mexico. She's not only a great dancer, but also a wonderful human being. Loved her :) and her son is omg sooooo cute

I shes amazing!!! besides the fact that she is my aunt- and we miss her lots here in washington.... I've seen other belly dancers she is more elegant rather then just trying to dance fast. If she wasn't a real belly dancer how could she be doing so good in one of the biggest belly dancing cites!

no offense but shes doin good becuase she is just wearing a belly dancing revealing outfit. Egyptians and arabs have consirvative morals and dont allow themsleves in dancing in public like such. So thats why foriegners are takin over now becuase dancing for them and revailin thier bodies is a normal thing. But we as arab women, belly dance all the time and its very normal and natural for us, no need to school or learning it.

im sick of all the arabic woman allways defending themselfs saying that oriental dance is in them naturally and that they dont need to go to no school to learn it... its something they say just cos they cant edmit that TECHNICALY they cant dance as good as "foriegners" do. iv got oriental dance in my blood aswell so im not just talking out of no were but,

yes arabic woman has LEARNT BASIC oriental dance since childhood also by watching other dancers and always dancing at partys etc... but the ones that goes to learn belly dance at shools they learn the proper professional way... just for example the traditional dance of greece (not sure what they call it....zorba? well the circle dance anyway) all greeks know how to do it...

sum suck at it but they still know the steps...its part of theyr culture but then again there is the once that really love the dance and take it further to learn it properly... and then the steps gets more complicated and refined.... same with belly dance or raqs sharqi...ofcourse the woman of the arabic (turkish,greek) cuntrues know how to do it...ITS THERE NATIONAL DANCE FOR FOX SAKE.... but some suck at it and some are ok...

you cant be a true oriental dancer if u havent polished your style and LEART IT FROM SOME KIND OF SCHOOL OR TEACHER! and normally the forigne woman have much nicer technique and are better dancers... BUT THEY LACK ONE IMPORTANT THING WITH THE ARABIC HAVE LOTS OF, and thats why they kick ass... and thats the FEELING for the dance!!! so im just saying that i recon belly dance is the dance of the womans body to celebrate feminity...

it really has no contry...but the language happens to b mostly arabic so they pride themself with there "naturall" talant to the dance!

Not all Egyptians dance the same. One thing for sure, Egypt loves Leila. She is the biggest foreign belly dance star and model - she's been in every fashion magazine in the Arab world and everyone loves her, not just for her beauty, but for her unique talent. (Editing in Egypt is typically whonky and makes us sea-sick. Leila didn't edit the footage.)

Leila is your typical tall stiff American girl! Don't take me wrong, she is gorgeous, she could make a living modeling or becoming a trophy wife. But, I am sorry people, she is not a belly dancer! And anybody who has the slight understanding of belly dance would agree! Watch, Randa kamel, Asmahan and Soraya or even Nour and you will know what Egyptian belly dancing is all about! You must have some fire and real interpretation for the music

Most of the trailer was edited in Cairo to their taste. The DVD itself is not quite like that. It is the portions of the trailer where Leila is dancing on stage with musicians behind her.
