The sad thing is that these children are trained and brain washed to kill and mutilate people. I read a book called Memoirs of a boy soldier, and the children even kill those who are trying tocure their psychological damage. It's so sad.

i did a 9 month tour in iraq. The hardest thing i ever had to do was shoot a kid who was part of the hostiles ambushing us. There were several of them.

Im fucking 19 and i had to shoot a 12 year old kid. This kind of shit i could not and still dont forgive myself for. This is something that must be stopped.

It is so unfortunate that this happens. War in itself is devastating enough, but then we throw children into the mix. Kids deserve so much more. It is so far beyond unfair that I don't know the proper word for it. What is the purpose of training children to kill? They have done absolutely nothing wrong and do not deserve to be put in a position where they could potentially be killed. My sister is eight, and just thinking about her going to war kills me. There is no way to justify child soldiers.

The number of child soldiers is astounding and I have heard numbers MUCH higher. Sadly, there is a reason for this, but people are too cowardly to stand up and stop it.

It is very sad. So many people live in this little bubble and forget that there are MANY issues like these that need awareness all over the world. I did not know much about child soldiers until recently, when I joined a group in my school that raises awareness on a different issue each semester.
